Welcome to the most hilarious rabbit hole, i've ever witnessed myself. Saw them live this spring. Just do any of their songs you can find on youtube and you will never get disappointed. My recommendation: Norwegian Reggaeton (this song brought them the deal with Napalm Records). But turn subtitles on for this, it's in spanish and norwegian for some parts. FYI: Band was founded in 2003 as Nanowar (Parody of Manowar) and renamed to Nanowar of Steel in 2006, when italian metal band Rhapsody had to rename to Rhapsody of Fire. This song is from the 6th album "Stairway to Valhalla" and first album with Napalm Records as their label. Current Album is called "Death to false Metal" and has some great tunes on it (also one with Sabaton singer Joakim Broden) Valhalleluja was recorded with Thomas Winkler aka Angus McFive, former singer of the band Gloryhammer, who is now known with his own band as Angus McSix (which i recommend too. This band is crazy, but watch the vids in order of official release. otherwise you miss parts of the backgroundstory.)
It's important with parody music to be good at what you do, otherwise it just sounds naff. Fortunately they are very skilled musicians. After releasing this they went on an unofficial tour of Italian branches of Ikea, sometimes they were kicked out, sometimes not! I saw them live in a tiny venue in Sheffield - about the size of the place my old college band used to play - and they were hilarious. My favourite bit was the Wall of Love: like a Wall of Death, but they explained they didn't like collecting broken teeth and mopping up blood so they got us to rush each other and hug instead (making sure we had permission first). I got to hug a total stranger in a Judas Priest jacket. BTW, it's John Wood, I just changed my handle - I suggested this song on your Amon Amarth reaction, thanks for getting to it so quick! Now I want you to do some more Sabaton, including _1916_ and particularly _Bismarck,_ so you can get the full impact from my second-favourite NoS song, _Pasadena 1994..._
The details in the video are superb. The IKEA instructions are for a “dreki“ in runes which is the old Norse for a Viking Ship. The “Shema Yisrael“ section where they insert Norse mythological terms into the prayer is hilarious. The bassist worked at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and transcribed the text into Hebrew.
@@peczenyj So true The Nanowar of Steel video / song "Disco Metal" was a song where I stopped it and got down my bilingual Dante's Inferno to check I had got the reference LOL
Just explain some words here....Systembolaget = Government owned alcohol store, the only one that can sell alcohol above 3.5% in Sweden, Hammerfall = metalband from Sweden. Do I need to explain IKEA from Sweden and the names on the furniture? *-) But make it a test if You don't giggle to their song Uranus.. but it is scientific in a way! *-)
Nanowar of Steel are from Rome/Italy and have been around for 20 years now. They will come to the US in autumn as support for Dragonforce. They are a (in my humble opinion) hilarious parody metal band, the rabbit hole is huge, if you want to go down! :D Have fun, man! Great reaction!
welcome to the wonderful world of Nanowar of steel, next stop would be , Uranus, , Pasadena 1994, Norwegian reggaeton, And then i noticed she was a gargoyle, and many more ! Hi Wolff Thomas Winkler aka Odin is the ex-frontman of "Gloryhammer". He also works with other bands that I should bring you closer to. Feuerschwanz (pronounced Foyer-shwanz, not Firetail) is a German metal band that started out as a fun band. They make their own titles like "Undead in Dragonboat" (Undead in Dragonboat) as well as covers. Recommendation : Warriors of the World united. The second band would be Saltatio Mortis, also emerging from the medieval music scene. "My Mother Told Me" or "The Dragonborn Comes" together with Lara Loft would be recommended here. greetings from Germany the lady
Pray to the Hunter by Saltatio Mortis is also nice. When you explore Electric Callboy's Hypa Hypa, there is also a Cover Version with Saltatio Mortis. Enjoy the fun❤
Maybe you not notice the movie on the TV at the beginning. It's "Trading places". The band is Italian, and in Italy, since decades, in tv they broadcast that movie at the 24th dec.
Nanowar of steel is always a fun time. Great music combined with loads of fun. For more fun check out: Barbie milf princess of the twilight or any other song of Nanowar. Keep up the good work cosmic, keep spreading those positive vibes.

"Are you flippin' serious, dude?.." - Well, NO! :] NANOWAR (OF STEEL) are probably the supreme parody Metal band currently extant - though there are worthy competitors - but these Italians' songs are so well thought-out and stylish, taking on any sub-genre of Metal imaginable with equal panache. Plus, they are obviously having so much fun doing this. PLUS they are really just freakin' gifted musicians, as you duly noted! They could play in any "straight-faced" Metal band without batting an eye - thankfully they do not mind the worthy (those of us who have been indoctrinated) to have hysterical fun along the way! Move over MANOWAR, here come the NANS!!! As a further inquiry, I kindly recommend you to have a listen to their take on Power metal in the epic "Barbie, MILF Princess of the Starlight"... yes, I know you get the picture. :D Besides, its wonderfully animated, and somehow got the then-frontman of Neoclassical metal stalwarts RHAPSODY, Fabio Lione to guest on that track. 8] Iguess it speaks volumes also that man's unspoiled sense of humor, ha!
There is an infinity of brilliant wordplay and gags in this, besides the brilliant musicianship. Much to research, if you are so inclined. My favorite Christmas song. Try "Norweigian Reggaeton" or "Uranus" next.
I have known about Nanowar of steal for close to a year, and I really like their music. Valhallaluja was the very first song I ever heard of them. One of my most favorite songs from them is called Pasadena 1994 which is based on the 1994 World Cup. It was Italy vs Brazil in the final game of that World Cup. Pasadena 1994 has the lead singer of Sabaton Jokim Broden. Nanowar of Steal also makes fun of Sabaton with the guitars and basses swinging back and forth. It is really funny. Nanowar of steel is known for making fun of things in their songs. It is fun how they don't necessarily take themselves seriously but make awesome music.
Theyre currently on their first ever North American tour with Dragonforce. I got to see them live and theyre great! During this song they build an Ikea table on the stage then toss it into the crowd to get passed around. You should definitely do more reactions from this band.
Well, not exactly. During an European tour they invited local fans in different counties they visited for a treasure hunt in a local IKEA shop. They hid some of their CD and merchandise in the drawers, closets and boxes on display before meeting with their fans, then when everybody arrived at the time they announced on their socials/website they declared the treasure hunt opened. Obviously chaos was unleashed, imagine a couple of dozens of metalhead running around in the IKEA shop giggling an whooping while opening all doors, drawers an boxlid in the whole blooming shop. In Turin they ended up to be kicked out of the shop but in other places they did their thing with people litterly crying for their laughs. There's a short video documenting the whole thing on their RUclips channel and yes, these guys are mental!
These guys are awesome! The music is actually great and the lyrics and videos hilarious! Italians spreading the happiness! By the way, ever since I first listened to this I can't go to Ikea without it playing non stop in my head! 😝
The christians stole Christmas from Odin, then Coca Cola stole it from the christians and now an Italian satire metal band steals it right back for a modern Odin 😂
i love this italian band ! Their YT channel has got many surprises like recipee or shorts. And their songs are all very funny, even if this one is particularly fun
Hi again! I remember you mentioning COB earlier... Dude! You NEED to hear the new Warmen song if you haven't already. Never thought I get to hear that sound fresh again after Alexi died. If you are not familiar Warmen was originally Janne Wirman's (keyboard at COB) solo project where he could do other kind of music while COB was the outlet for the heavy stuff. Janne basically quit making music for a while after COB and was not planning to come back. But now the Wirman brothers are back and it's METAL on the upcoming album. Nanowar of Steele actually set a world record while doing this song live once, for the most Ikea tables built on stage during a metal show. 😂😂
That makes me wonder if someone built more Ikea tables during a diffferent kind of concert 🤔🤔
How many?
If you're ever having a bad day, pop on some Nanowar and you'll still have a bad day, but you'll be laughing and listening to some awesome tunes !!
I liked your twist of phrase actually! NANOWAR would approve!
