I stumbled upon your You Tube channel and now I am addicted. The recipes are always delicious and introduced me to those with I am unfamiliar. The roasted asparagus is just phenomenal. I love that you and your wife work together and so caring toward each other. I am retired educator too.
My husband is a chef and makes these asparagus just like this. They are absolutely so good to eat! I eat them like candy. I bake and he cooks! A great combination.
My husband's high school drivers ed class ,in Utah,took a Saturday drive off to the desert. The teacher had large black lawn bags that they filled with asparagus. The plants grew along the ditches and along the canal banks. The trunk was completely filled when they returned. The kids had a wonderful lifetime memory of a time gone by ,as now all the ditches are sprayed for"weeds", and they had a highway road trip, and the asperagus was distributed among all the students and their families.😊
I think it's very sweet that you blow on the food before giving a taste to Melissa, the marriages in this world would be so much different with that type of love and respect.
I grew up in an area with many Italian American families. My next-door neighbor made asparagus and egg sandwiches on Italian bread (leftover cooked asparagus, eggs, and lots of Parmesan - scrambled together and fried in a bit of olive oil in sandwich size portions). That was my introduction to asparagus. A delicious sandwich which I still make today.

We do this with brussel sprouts, asparagus, squash, sugar snap peas, par boiled potatoes, etc. It's our preferred method of eating veggies and it's always soooo good! We do it at 425 for 12-15 min depending on the veggie. The freshly grated parmesan is the kiss of flavor! Love all your videos and your enthusiasm. :)
Love asparagus. Didn't grow up eating it. It was just not anything my mother ever cooker, nor to I remember anyone else ever making it. I came to it as an adult, and I've always really liked it. This looks great!
I would never eat asparagus when I was younger. Thought it was gross. Now I love it!! Just started eating eat about 4 years ago. The funny thing is I waited until I was in my late 60’s. I’m 71 now. And only like it roasted. ❤❤❤❤
If you don't have the garlic and onion powder, it is great with just the salt and pepper and a little butter. I love my mother to the moon and back but she boiled it. I loved the flavor but wouldn't cook it myself for many years but my husband loved it as much as I do, so I finally decided to try it steamed and we loved it but now I will try roasting it. Sadly my mother and husband are gone so I will have to enjoy it for them. Love you two. Keep doing what you do so well!

I love asparagus! I cook mine in the air fryer about 10 minutes turning once and they come out perfect and crispy! Love your videos! As far as you blowing on the food I think it's very thoughtful so Melissa doesn't burn her mouth. Ppl just have to complain about nothing.... I mean she's your wife for crying out loud. Lol
Roasted asparagus is so good. The recipe you used is the best way to prepare it, in my opinion. Garlic, onion, and Parmesan cheese make all the difference between blah and delicious.
We love asparagus. I learned to cook it in home ec. class at school. Made it for my parents & siblings, and they loved it too. My hubby & son also love it. We do like it with a little crunch. Asparagus tips are also good in tossed green salad.
I so love asparagus. This is a lovely way to cook them. I put asparagus in stir fry and in other meals too. It's so heart warming to have other ways to cook that wonderful vegetable. This show is so heartwarming and heartfelt. May god bless you all.

My mother made asparagus casserole (kind of like green bean casserole). She mixed them with a can of Le Seuer peas and the cream of mushroom soup. Pretty good

Asparagus is my favorite veggie. I steam it, slather melted butter on it and add grated cheese, usually Asiago. I’ve never roasted it, but I will try this.

You were making my mouth water as you held those asparagus spears up to the camera! The only kind of asparagus I don't like is canned. We love the raw tips in salad, steamed, roasted, etc. It's much more readily available now than it used to be. This is a great recipe. I hope you make some converts because it is so tasty!
We hope we do, too. If a person has a bad experience the first time they try something new, they come away thinking they don't like it. That is too bad if it's just a case of it not being well prepared.

I love asparagus prepared this way. I don't use as much garlic as you do but I do drizzile it with a balsamic vinegar glaze before putting it in the oven. Thanks for all the great recipes, I really enjoy them so much I print them out, place them in a plastic sheet protector and then a three-ring binder that is just for your recipes.

Almost all "compost" veggie peelings, corn cobs and tips make a wonderful stock, used in soups, stews, etc. I save mine in a jar in the freezer, just adding to the container until I have enough to throw into a stock pot. I do the same freezing method for small amounts of vegetables left over from dinner. When I have enough, it makes a wonderful soup.
As an infant, grandma would go pick wild asparagus out oftheorchardfor dinner. She would feed me the tips and she has what was left. Loved it ever since. I have dipped in egg and then flour and fry in butter. Yummy

I use the broken ends for cream of asparagus soup. Just steam and put in blender with broth from steaming. Season and add heavy cream. Yum

Almost all "compost" veggie peelings, corn cobs and tips make a wonderful stock, used in soups, stews, etc. I save mine in a jar in the freezer, just adding to the container until I have enough to throw into a stock pot. I do the same freezing method for small amounts of vegetables left over from dinner. When I have enough, it makes a wonderful soup.
I have to admit the parchment paper trick(idea) is a winner ! Since I first saw Tom do that I tried it and it works !

As an infant, grandma would go pick wild asparagus out oftheorchardfor dinner. She would feed me the tips and she has what was left. Loved it ever since. I have dipped in egg and then flour and fry in butter. Yummy
