Hand on heart this is one of my favourite EVER things on RUclips, it's so well put together and it must have taken so much love to have done it too. I have it bookmarked and watch it frequently. When Firefly was cancelled it just broke my heart ... thank you :-)
You know...Joss said that he always thought of the story that is "Serenity" the movie as the bridge for his show after two full seasons. As well all know they didn't get to that part when Fox pulled the plug. There were 15ish episodes counting the pilot as two and the unaired several. So they could do a season and a half of animated episodes and allow the main cast to reprise their roles as voice actors. It would be time saving for the actors with other gigs, they can do 20 episodes in a day.
Don't know if Joss Wedon is evil or a genius for killing off Wash. He created this amazing universe, broke our hearts and make us wanting more. Rest in Peace Wash.
About a year before we met, I spent six weeks on a moon where the principle form of recreation was jugglin' geese... Classic Wash! I wonder how that might work though.... :D
Oh my god, you people are still complaining about this, look, I'm talking about their contacts and friends, rewatch the movie and you'll know what I mean by that.
I think I'd like it better if it showed video that went with the quotes, or at least some of the quotes, interspersed with the shots of serenity. I'd also have shown the part where Mal falls in love with the ship. But I'm not awesome at making videos like you are, so it doesn't matter much what I would do. ;) Good job.
If you did some thinking first, instead of bashing me like I have no brain or whatever, all the contacts and friends of the serenity crew are dead. So you can't really have that nice cowboy/freelancer feel when two main characters died, and you have no one to trade with, make deals, and just plain go to when you need help.
Wasted, I did do some thinking first. Why must I be the only one to conjur? Though I don't give you the credit, you can be assured, you probably do have an over abundance of brains. Use 'em. Its a big verse that Joss Whedon made. There can be sequals and sequals. Only thing stoppin' it is funds and drive. I'd be sure Whedon already has 2 or 3 really good ideas cooked up in the "mid-treatment" phase just waiting for stable backer to make em.
Condescending? But you do mean their "contacts" are dead when you say everybody died? The people that got hit by the operative? Like the people at Haven, maybe even Mingo and Fanty? I wonder if the Op killed Badger. I read the book and in the book version the Op tortured Mingo and Fanty until they gave him some info, I think on where Haven was or some such.
Everyone died? What were you watching, the French version or something? I know Wash, Book, and Mr Universe died (Lanor can't be dead seeing as shes a robot and was never really alive to begin with. Though there are seven main characters alive all be it "tore up plenty" still left at the end. Everyone died? Where is that rit? What's up with that Wasted?
I do agree with that, but your still being condescending. I guess they can get some new characters to fill the void, or just keep it the way it was when serenity ended.

Wow, the Shipping News + Firefly. That is one fantastic combination that I never saw coming!
Loved it when they just blew through to the planet past the ships, then get to the broadcasting system and broadcast it to all those planets.
Man i love this show.
The music is the title piece from Christopher Young's score for "The Shipping News"--and wonderful in that movie.
