I learned about pad parameters really early and i never understood why anyone would use non-destructive. Still trying to understand the point of non-destructive, that’s why I’m here 😆
Yes I have to admit, it is not something I would personally use myself either, but I guess there are some people who would find a use for it. Thanks for watching.
Dude! You are so quick to respond with an entire video. I appreciate your take on the differences and how to use them. I’m going to watch again with my MPC on to get a better understanding. Thanks for clarifying this.
Pad Parameters is so cool in that each pad can have different start/end points which each then can have all the way to edit them like filter, insert & Drum FX,,,etc, all w/o using more memory. Powerful stuff 👍🏾
Yeh it just makes more sense for most people who use the MPC because manipulating chops after the fact is kind of what it's all about. Thanks for watching dude.
Is there a way to make it so that every slice automatically plays to the end of the sample? Im manually moving each pads end point to the end of the sample at the moment but its tedious lol
OK, so if I've chopped up a sample and converted a slice to Pad, does that mean I can use a different sample on that pad and keep the pad slice start/end on the new sample? The use case here is if I've extracted stems and I want to trigger vocal slices cut at the exact same points I've cut the beat slices. Maybe there's a faster, less obtuse way to do that and I'm simply missing it? Happy new year, btw.
@@TheCratesMotel Unfortunately, changing the sample assignment of a sample layer in Program Edit blows away the slice start and end, even if the slice is set to Pad. If there's a way to work with slices independently of audio files, I must have overlooked it or it doesn't exist. It's also possible I'm expecting Octatrack-like features that don't exist in the MPC, and the next level down the rabbit hole is editing the audio and XPM files themselves.
How do you use your Non Destructive Slices and Pad Parameter Programs?

No problem bro. I hope there’s something there for you.

It definitely makes more sense for my own personal workflow to always use Pad Parameters.

Hey mate, yes there is. I am literally making a video today that includes the technique.

@@johncourte7682 hmm, I’ve never actually tried to do that, so I can’t definitively say what will happen. I’d be interested to know.

@@johncourte7682 Ah ok, good to know. Good shout for trying though.
Ok, so I'm not crazy using pad parameters almost exclusively.^^
Definitely not dude.
Drums mostly non destructive, musical samples pad params.
Thanks for sharing your workflow dude and thank you for watching.
