Thanks for viewing!
Serviced my 2020 300 gts hpe myself for the first time without taking it in for service, and this video allowed me to easily service my Vespa with little difficulty. Thanks!!!👍😎
Excellent overview. Not actually my intention to service my gts myself, but I enjoy knowing how things work, really interesting and well done. Thanks very much for putting this up, Robot clearly enjoys his work.
Robot has the lock on the RUclips Vespa content. Very much appreciated guys!!!
Thanks for watching. More videos to come!
Please help my clutch pulley wont.go.off what can i do
its September 2020, and I'm loving what I'm seeing. :)
I often watch your tutorials now. Yesterday I get my new GTS 300 and I'm really happy that I found your great tutorials. You did a really good job, THX for this! Greeting from Germany!
This video made me wish the local service centers would have such dedicated and detailed employee like Robot to service my buddy (GT200). Good job and detailed video compared to written information found on webs.
2009 mp3 250 Done!
My thanks to you, Robot, and your company.
Hi tom from Germany,
did a whole belt and transmission service. Your Video is perfect and very helpful to do that.
Thank you very much for your great and very detailed work on it, loved it.
Much success for the future and very best regards from Germany,
Tom.
Just purchased a 2009 250 GTS, with 9,000 miles, thank you for the informative video!
Right on!
I am just about to buy a second hand 250 GTS and so this video was spot on in my prep. Great explanation.
Thanks a lot look forward to watching you other videos.

I did the belt service myself on my 07 MP3 using the Deluxe kit from Scooter West! Before, my transmission sounded like a box of rocks when taking off. At 7000 miles (but 15 years old), my variator and clutch belt surfaces were highly glazed, and my rollers were worn. I blew out the clutch and cases well, then used some 600-grit sandpaper on the variator, clutch belt guides, clutch shoes and clutch bell, using methyl alcohol in-between passes. I also used brake parts cleaner on the cases (ick). That was a lot of dirty work. Since I decided to not rebuild the clutch, I didn't need those extra parts, but the discount on the kit makes it a wash. The tools they included worked great and I had full confidence breaking and torquing the two nuts (55 ft lbs. variator and 50 lbs. clutch) Robot only used thread lock on the variator but I did it on the clutch too (the kit includes a new nut). The MP3 has a flexible air intake you need to disconnect and replace with a new tie wrap. There is also a ground lead in addition to the breather tube on case bolts you shouldn't forget to re-attach. I used a tiny bit of lithium grease on the needle bearings of the clutch and the variator boss. Now it's quiet and so sweet! Worth it! Do the air filter too. If you haven't done it for a while, be prepared for the air box to be full of oil.
Excellent training video that makes the processes easy to follow and understand. Best part is the presenter he knows how to do the job plus adds some tips to make the job easier. Thanks and keep them coming
Thanks for putting in the effort to post this, I service all my own stuff. 30ft Yacht GSXR Suzuki, Vulcan Kawasaki, 1198 Ducati, Seadoo Jetski, 3.0r B spec Subaru. And my precious little 250 gts, I couldn't afford these things if I din't DIY. So thanks again. This sure beats boring manuals.
Just picked up a 08 GTS 250...really appreciate the video! I'm ready to tackle the job!! Thanks Robot!
This man explain the Service on Vespa really good.
Robot I just love your website and cant stop watching it. Thanks for being so magnanimous with your knowledge. By the way I found your 'Talking Motorcycles' podcast very interesting and entertaining. Cheers Robot.
You guys rock, thank you for making these videos because I don't have a dealer near me. Another reason that I always order my parts from you.
A scooter racer once told me you can mix roller weights. Don't. They wear differently, create wobble & wear on the crank/slider. The twist to separate the clutch and fit the belt is obvious once you know about it, but it's misery until you do. Great series of videos. Thank you.
That racer didn't understand how CVTs work😊
Thanks Very much for this video . I have a Gilera Nexus 250 ( same engine as Vespa GTS 250 ) which had never been serviced . through watching your video I managed to do the belts , rollers , oil and air filters spark plug and oil change . Great Videos Thanks .
Robot is the man!
You all could and probably should add links for the complete kits to purchase from your website for the exact items shown in the video. Otherwise, super helpful!
Done! Thanks for catching that. This is an older video and we try to always add links to parts covered in the videos.

thank you vespa moto could you help me with my vespa 250 gts scooter every time I support someone my scooter goes out and I am on the other side in africa in senegal
Un grand merci pour cette belle vidéo un vrai pro ( Thank you so much )
It would be helpful to add some pointers when things don’t go as planned. An example I could not squeeze the clutch to open it to install belt. Hands not strong enough. I manage to pry the belt in using a large screw.driver levering against the housing with the clutch in place on the bike. Another one was getting the belt housing back in place. If you do not ( and I did not) have the air cleaner pushed up high enough ( and it takes some force ) the housing will not go im place. Think about what an inexperienced person is likely to have problems with. I can tell you a lot of people are going to have trouble getting that belt into the clutch.
Great video. Good job!!!!
Another excellent video
Great! Thanks a lot for sharing!!

You might wanna be careful using a rattle gun to remove the crankshaft nut, as the rattling action may damage the crankshaft bearings.
He nickname is ROBOT for a reason!

Thank you for this video! Graet job. I have two questions: What is the allowable crankshaft axial play and clutch shaft play. Thanks!
Great video, followed all steps and worked like a charm. Thanks again. Ran into one problem, when fitting a Malossi clutch and bell house the Benzetti tool for holding the bell house did not fit anymore. any suggestions?
Great Job, but shouldn't you better close the oil fill in while taking the vario out..? oh you did it. never mind am late anyway. Greets from Germany
Se fosse in italy sarebbero molto istruttivi... grazie
Hi Robot, you seem to be quite knowledgable/expert in these scooters. I'm eyballing a 2015 300gts "abarth" model. How long will these engines run for? This one has 16000km is that a lot? I see booklets and bills on pIctures and the guys claims a large service last year including the belt. He does mention an issue: starting issues after a longer standstill, maybe a gasket.(?).. What would be a good internet source for tech info (service manual etc) ? What would you reckon a fair price for such a model in Europe?
Great tutorial. What do you think of hyosung scooters ?
Thank you, I'm going to try this with the help of a friend.
Question, what is the name of the drill/electric driver you use that has the light?
Nice video. What pay someone for taxes per year in the state for this scooter?
tnxssss
When you measure oil level with dip you can't and don't need to screw it in.
Bellissimo video, mi sa dire il numero del bullone variatore e frizione?Mi sembra da 19 o sbaglio?
Dude where you At Im about to scoot to where ever that is G
Thanks so much for this. I am determined to do some of the work for my GTS 250 myself. I have a bunch of questions.
What is the tool you used at 5:08 to access the engine oil drain?
What is tool did you use to remove the 10 6millimmeter with 8millimeter head fasterners around the air box?
Can I use a socket wrench to take the nut off the belt where you used the air tool?
When I took my air filter cover off, there was a lot of oil in there. Is this really bad? 🙈
Great video, could someone confirm that I need 2 different tools. Variator holder and clutch holder or will one do both? Thanks
Hello. I can´t understand when you install the rollers that they have a position into the ramp. Ramp are symmetrical so why rollers have a position into the variator backplate. Regards.
i think this thing is turning very fast one way, and rouling against the metal always, so it schuld be that the plastic side is in the side they rube the most. (sorry bad english)
Cransaft Valve in

Hola!, tengo un problema con un ruido "ciclico" en la parte trasera de la Vespa,
When replacing the air filter with new do I still need to spray the new filter with air filter oil?
My gts 250 has been sitting in storage for 7 years... with fluids and fuel. Other than the service you're showing here, what do you suggest I change out? I'm a bus mechanic, so I have pleanty of tools.
Hello. I have the same engine in my piaggio x7ie .... Can you please tell me how many gramms have the original rollers? Please. Thank You

What are the possible causes of shuddering transmission when you take off?
