She had a ticket and boarded the flight before everyone had even sat down, if that's really some major issue of trespassing then it sounds like the airlines need to invest in even more security or change their policy on trespassing because she wasn't causing any issue until the authorities told her to leave. Sometimes people should be put before policy. We aren't here to serve policy, it's exists to serve people.

But she missed her flight and tried to sneak on another flight to her destination. That's her fault, not anyone else's. It's the responsibility for any of us to know you can't do that. If she would've just gotten off of the plane to take care of the issue without holding everyone else up and not made a dramatic scene, it wouldn't have been a big deal. They gave her multiple chances to leave the plane to take care of the issue in private and did so in a professional manner. But, as we see so many times, people trying to cheat and when they get caught, trying to play victim. So, no, it's not in "fairness" to make excuses for her and her actions. Don't create the storm, then whine when it rains.

Because it very easily could turn back on them if she or anyone else got hurt, either legally, or via PR, and even if she didn’t get hurt, claims of being unnecessarily aggressive can hurt them as well (and cause a public backlash). There’s also the added situation of group dynamics, where if you’re actions cause negative repercussions to those around you rather than just you, it can cause social pressure and reactions that will be considered worse than just you being punished.
