You did a great job in describing the diversity of housing styles found here and how "Asheville" is greater than the city limits. "Asheville" is not defined by the actual city limits. A great deal of what people people think is "Asheville" is actually Buncombe County. This is even more complicated by what are Asheville City Schools and what are Buncombe County Schools districts. The Asheville City School district is not the same as Asheville City Limits. There is a supplemental tax in Asheville for those living in the Asheville City Schools District. This is a very important consideration for those with children. Zoning in the City and the County are not the same as well..

Very true!!! There is a difference in both. Although, depending on where you are moving from the tax difference between the city, and the county is not that substantial. I know in places like California and Florida taxes are really high, but in North Carolina they are not.

Is there a land fill or local garbage dumps? I take my own garbage up. One bag at a time. Well, that's how I do it here in Florida.

There is a transfer station that you pay for by the car load $12, I think. Usually people take larger items there. Otherwise, the company that we use in Buncombe county is called waste pro.

I love wooden and Weaverville as well! I do not find I 26 coming from Asheville to Weaverville in Woodfin to be troublesome at all but going south it can be.
