    Sorry if my voice sounded a bit incomprehensible, which is why I reccomend to activate the CC (not the auto one). I recorded and made this on my phone. One day, I might get a good mic.

    Makes sense. A similar example is Pozy. Her russian accent isnt as thick as the other Ursus ops since she lived with the durins for a loong, loooong time. That said, I still believe that only now HG realized the charm of regional accents and decided to invest on it. Few games do that and they nailed it

      Another one is Blaze. She was born in Victoria, but the implication is that she actually grew up in Yan. Still makes Christina Vee a bit of an odd choice in a way, although Blaze is otherwise the kind of character I could have imagined being voiced by her before it actually happened.

    Its cute to think of a in universe reason why she doesnt have the accent but its pretty easy to say that the reason is they just werent doing accents early on. The knights of Pinus Sylvestris dont have a Polish accent either despite living to Kazimireiz their whole lives.

      yeah when they do surveys they ask you whether or not you want accents for EN voices. I'm sure those responses were why they added accents.

    I knew accent is actually ambiguity thing.
    From experience I have my sister having to live 2 months away from my hometown Bengkulu to Java continent especially the Yogyakarta... Now here's the kicker, when she come home it's like she doesn't yell much due to culture shocked from there.
    Yogyakarta people usually speak politely in fact some of their accent doesn't need sharp yet high tone voice scream unlike Bengkulu we can just Oi or apo Dio mekak! Like that.😂

    Being a character from early batches and her lore are indeed the actual reasons for this. We can see that HG doesn't actually pay much attention to accent in the early days of the game, much like other gacha games today even after they have run for a few years where they tend focus on american and main british accent only.
    Remember, even if NTR isn't the character from the first batch of characters, she's still technically the same 5* Margaret. Her case is pretty much the same as Texas, where she was the first batch character and lived in Columbia for a quite long time in the story. Seriously, it's still possible to (completely) lose your local accent for living in another place for a long time

  • @okami_kamkam
    @okami_kamkam 29 дней назад +1

    Good explanation and makes sense. Hell, it’s even an occurrence in real life where people who are exposed to many different types of accents, drop most of their original accent in favour of a general one that is subconsciously understandable to all including themselves
    I know this because it’s happened to me with my exposure to so many different accents from the internet and just talking to a lot of people from other cultures and countries

  • @DracoSlayer
    @DracoSlayer 29 дней назад +1

    I'd also like to highlight, it's the same for basically all the Rim Biliton bunnies, and Texas
    In Texas' case, she's Siracusan, but she was raised up in Colombia, hence she has no Italian accent
    While cautus like Amiya and Kroos have more of an English accent because Rim Biliton was specifically based on Australia during a period of English colonization, where the British introduced rabbits into the ecosystem and they eventually spread and became an invasive species, which is more of a meta reason, but it does highlight that HG pay a lot of attention to detail

    If we want to conveniently add to this, it could also be a social class thing. Meteor doesn't have the accent as she's from the more rural parts of kazimierz whereas the Nearls would have been in the upper class of Kazimierz where the accent was moreso a status symbol and therefore they'd adopted it to fit in.

    That said, I'd love to hear Margaret's say something Polish with an English accent just for fun or smth. Still dying to hear her speak like she would in the past.

    That's cute. One small problem. None from the Kazimierz, save for the three Nearl family members, have accents.
    Not Platinum.
    Not Gravel.
    Not Meteor.
    Not Proviso.
    Not the entire Pinus Sylvestris members.
    I really want this cope to work but the more I think about it, the more it seems that the Nearl family is the odd ones out 😭

      Tbf the nearl family is pretty well established in Kazimierz unlike the others. Though, that still doesnt excuse Pinus Sylvestris not having accents...

    Considering Nearl had re-recorded lines to fix the Kazimierz pronounciation (iirc), they had time and the opportunity to give her an accent and HG did not do it
    So we can take this as confirmation or an oversight, and even if it's most likely the second i'll take the first

    To be frank, I think some fans need a reality check when it comes to accents and where people are from. Lots of people from Poland don’t speak EN with an accent, for example. While it adds a nice variety to the dub, it also wouldn’t be culturally appropriate to insist that everyone from Kazimierz speaks with a Polish accent, everyone from Leithanian speak with a German accent, everyone from Sami speak with a Scandinavian accent, etc., because that’s not how the world works in real life.

    • @piotrbuda6436
      @piotrbuda6436 Месяц назад +5

      You clearly haven't interacted with reality recently. Unless someone spends a lot of effort and time they will sound off to the naive speaker. They won't be able to tell if it's German, Polish or Swedish accent but they will know they are speaking to foreigner. And it would be more "culturally appropriate" to have everyone from a region to have an accent, than what Ubisoft actuali did with Ela when they got someone that could speek Polish, and had her use that stupid fake estern european accent.

      I have a friend from Poland and he speaks English pretty fine, with very little of his native accent being discernible. He in fact, sounds vaguely European, like he's somewhere between sounding British and sounding not British. I actually didn't really discern his accent till I listened to Maria and Zofia's EN dub. Ngl, he once swtiched from English to Polish so smoothly on me, I barely processed he was asking me something in Polish.
      I grew up speaking English, albeit a more localized version of it, but still, as a native speaker, I can immediately tell that his accent isn't British or American because I grew up watching both American and British shows. The truth may be that a little bit of your accent will carry over regardless of how much time you spend interacting with people using English or consuming English media. You might just end up sounding more like a native, albeit with some very minor differences if you dedicate yourself to it. When I still studied Japanese language formally, I started switching my r's and l's sometimes or mispronouncing words with a more Japanese diction. Now that I've stopped, it's completely vanished. I think it depends on the level of exposure a person has to the language on a day-to-day basis, which determines how much their native accents come out when they speak that language.

    in case of Młynar I wouldn't call it a polish accent, more so an impersonation of one, which is nice from the voice actor. But as a polish person it always bugs me that both his name got butchered and his voice acting doesn't seem polish to me. At first I was fine with it but they are adding good accents in en like bagpipe or new blemishine or full voices in languages like german for example.
