Went inside there during safety inspection for ship dismantling, straight ladder and then sprial ladder and another straight ladder.

I can remember discharging grain by shoveling it into bags in the holds in Madras & Calcutta in 1972 & Bandar Abbas in 1978

@@ojusrawat Hello Ojji, usually how much you stay in port and how much you stay at sea?
@@raoulraoul7129 Port stay depends upon the Cargo operation, whether it is Loading or Discharging. Usually Bulk carriers stay around 1-2 Days at a Loading Port and around 3-4 Days at the Discharge port. Days at sea depends on the Voyage, sailing time can be up to 50 days, if a vessel is on cross ocean voyage(for eg. Brazil to China)
Why dont they use a pumping system to pump all the grains out of the vessel

That is correct.
Sir one vehicle inside in tank is always is there or outside
It is only lowered into the Cargo hold, when we are discharging the Cargo.

Which are the most important subjects for a future deck cadet? What a deck cadet must learn(in special)? colreg, radar navigation etc?
COLREG & Navigation should be prioritize.
Only the spiral ladder in and out of the cargo hold? Wouldn't it be very difficult if you are trying to carry an injured person strapped in a Neil Robertson stretcher up the spiral ladder? Would that be possible? Is there an alternative ladder into the cargo hold?
Cargo Holds do have a Vertical Ladder. Normally Spiral ladder is in the aft and Vertical Ladder in fwd.

It is taken out with the help of the Discharging Crane.
Just a query is Certification of IOF strictly followed in Australia in compliance with FMP, TML & MC and what method of Analysis is followed there?.
Guidelines and safety procedures laid by AMSA and maritime governing authorities are strictly followed during cargo operation in Aus.
While loading Iron ore or coal(our usual cargo from Aus) Can test and lab test are being followed.

If some emergency came at home and you are on ship then you can go to your home in midway of ship or not plz reply sir because my dream is to became a merchant Navy officer
If the emergency is very genuine and cannot be sorted without your appearance.. then you can go home.. and if you breaking your contract then you have to pay for visa, immigration and tickets with your own money..
Anyway. My advice is not join this Line.. alot of recession nowdays

Are you allowed to go down to cargo hold without company or permit to go there? Isn't it very dangerous down there?
Entry in cargo Hold is only made after carrying out gas checks and there is always a spotter(ship's crew) on top to monitor.

It is lowered down into the Cargo hold with the help of Shore discharging crane, only during discharging cargo.

There are numerous jobs/tasks to be carried out before any cargo operation. Planning of Loading/Discharging of Cargo(Load/Discharge Plan), preparing vessel in every aspect to load/discharge cargo, Ballasting/De-ballasting, Monitoring Stresses and lot of other things as well.

While transiting HRA(High risk Area) the vessel is accompanied by Armed Guards throughout the HRA passage. They are usually fully armed to defend any possible pirate attack.

Access ladder do have lights fitted, but during a cargo hold inspection we carry our own light. Also flood light can be fitted from top for proper illumination.
