The late, great, great Bobby Hatfield was one of a kind. There have been many artists that have covered this song. But, Bobby owned it. He and his Righteous Brothers partner, Bill Medley, also recorded it. And they did a beautiful job. But Bobby's solo effort is far and above all of them. RIP Bobby. We miss you. :(

Whatever rendition you listen to to, nobody could match the CONTROL, RANGE, EASE OF DELIVERY, BREATHING of Bobby Hatfield. Remember this was performed when a singer had to have real talent as there were no electronics to mask or enhance his voice. By far, this is number 1.

Thank you for not interrupting the song unlike others who have to pause the song and give their "expert" analysis.

This song was performed live, no auto tune, no retakes, no overdubbing, no curse words, and nothing fake. This is what makes this song so delightful, that it's sung from his heart and soul.

You are the sweetest thing! I lived through that era and enjoyed their music for so many years. I love to see young people now experiencing it and realizing how wonderful music back in the 1960’s really was. God bless.

This song was written in 1955 for a movie called “Unchained”. It’s been recorded by more than 670 artists, but nobody could ever sing it as well as Bobby Hatfield. This performance was on an episode of “The Andy Williams Show” in 1965. He was always nervous, but even more so on this particular occasion, as his mother was in the audience (the first time she had ever been to a live performance by him).

Make sure you listen to you lost that loving feeling with both Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley. It was most listened to song of 20th century. Both of their styles are opposite but great together. Soul and inspiration was another huge hit along with little Latin lupa lu

@@Ididnotwanttojoin the 2 big companies that protect songwriters & publishers, ASCAP & BMI said "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" was the most played song. Those guys actually listened to thousands of hours of radio and watched record sales to reach their conclusions.

The Righteous Brothers are a duo, Bobby Hatfield (the soloist here) and Bill Medley. They typically did one solo each per album. They both wanted to do Unchained Melody so they flipped a coin and Bobby won. Since this was a solo for Hatfield, Medley said he played the piano during the recording session. He later joked that if he had known this would become such a big hit (this song peaked at #4 in 1965), he would have brought in a better piano player!
And yes, to really experience the Righteous Brothers you need to hear both "brothers" together. You've Lost That Loving Feeling and Soul and Inspiration both peaked at #1 in the US.
