I lived in Okinawa when I was little when my dad was in the USMC, so lovely to find you! My husband and I just picked up photography as a hobby this year, and here in steamy North Carolina, there have been days when a vest like that would have been very welcome! Off to watch your owl video.

Hi Richard, I'm in mainland China and have seen those jackets before. A few local birder friends use them and have even taped ice packs to the inside!

That vest isn't a bad idea at all, right now. It's been absurdly hot here until the rain.
@@AguilaDeOnix85 Blaine...it is definitely better than just the raw heat... Folds up really small and I really think I could put a small ice pack in there to chills things out a bit🙏🙏
Where I live in Western Australia the summer temps hit the mid 40sºC. Thankfully it's not humid, although some days it does feel like you've stuck your head into an oven. The only way to photograph wildlife is to get out before dawn and position yourself by a permanent water source preferably in the shade. A friend who'd worked in Japan told about the jackets and reckoned I should get one. I must say having watched the video I'm now very tempted. I did watch the owl video and can't see why it didn't gain more traction.
@@PaulAmyes Thanks Paul for the kind comment. They've always been around but this year I have seen so many ...so maybe with this current boom they might start turning up in other countries... The little testing I've done I like it..and if not I'll just use the power bank to charge my camera in the field. Thanks again and have a great weekend🙏🙏

Nice video but how are you finding the Z8 compared to the OM-1 for wildlife? Ok you talked a little about it towards the end will wait for the video;)
@@HotGates In all honesty at the moment..I think they are both great cameras..but I definitely pick my Nikon camera up first🙏🙏👍
