    Apart from Swallows, you also have the opportunity to see the Okinawa Rail. Birds with beautiful feather patterns. Great found. A big LIKE for your video. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Singapore. Happy birding!!!

    Great stuff Richard! I was blown away when all of a sudden you had the video of the rail. You nailed him! It made the hunt feel like I was right there with you. I also enjoyed when you brought out the potential mosquito repellent. I spent my career working on mosquitoes and I have to admit I'm not sure if that was a proper mosquito repellent or a room deodorizer.
    Finally not to whinge because I think you do a great job. But I think you could push the shutter speed up, and the ISO up and use a Denoising software like DXO or Topaz and it might make your life and your photos better. Keep it going mate. Cheers, Scott.

      @@ScottRitchie-bw9ls cheers Scott for a great comment. I do often raise my ISO to pretty high levels but felt on that particular day that I didn't want to go too high because for birds in flight the detail is already lower than stationary birds and really high ISO can compromise that. Did you see my last video where I shoot at iso 25,600?

    Great video Richard and my favourite picture was definitely the Wasp although the Rail pictures were a bit special.

    great video Richard as ever even in those conditions. I love your b roll of the various birds, well captured 😊Hopefully you can get a new vlog camera if you need one. Some great images and I really like the third of the Swallow images in the rain.

      @@AndyHPhotography thanks so much Andy. Appreciate your feedback. The Swallow photos weren’t the best to be honest but I always try to include the photos I take on the day of the vlog and with wildlife depending on a number of factors they can be a bit hit and miss…but mustn’t winge 😉😉😉😀

    Tough condition (considering the exposure) for Swallow shots but all look great mate! I like the Moth and the KF images the best. I think Z8 performs better with Swallow this time before of the clear background. Cheers...

    Thanks for sharing, like those shots for swallows, I got Z8+ 180~600 zoom, but couldn't take the picture for swallow in a good condition, I got your word, prefocus, will try it next time. Curious about the setting you made, did you set up the priority by S ? And let ISO go auto?

      @@ironmanjimmy Hi and thank you for commenting. I was in manual mode...I just decided that I would try 1/2500 and F5.6 and keep it at those settings. And yes auto ISO👍👍And yes yes pre focusing is soooo important!! Thank you🙏

    Did the Z8 work better now than last time? P.S.: Parking in the middle of the street to take photos!? P.P.: to be honest these aren`t your best photos. Sorry

    • @RichardCookphotography
      @RichardCookphotography  3 месяца назад

      Yes it did. It’s a little road in the middle of some rice paddies, so not really a street …and due to the rain ..no one around. Yes you are 100 percent right about the photos but need to share something for the video. Most of those swallow shots will only ever be seen on this video ..edited purely for the video but also how many great swallow shots do you actually ever see especially in the rain. Thanks for the comment though!!

      @@richardfink7666 I’m sure you have more than 1 …but yes it is a difficult type of photography. And although I agree with you about nearly all the photos I do like the colors, composition and lighting of the Hummingbird moth shot👍 Take care 😃
