  • Simple Minds performing "Let it all come down" live at Grimsby Auditorium, Grimsby 27th March 2015. Filmed by myself. Big Music + Greatest hits tour.
    Lyrics:-
So let it all come, let it all come down
Sweet tears roll like a river from your eyes
    Get close let's sleep tonight
When you wake there's a new day dawning
When you wake there's a cold wind blowing
When day breaks there's a light shines through
I'm still here with you when the morning comes
I need you with me when the day begins
Oh let it all come, let it all come down
Why don't you let it all come, let it all come down
All is in control, love is on the open road
Make me want to live, you make me want to die
When you wake there's a new day dawning
When you wake there's a cold wind blowing
When day breaks there's a light shining through
Oh let it all come, let it all come down

They definitely played it during the Street Fighting Years gig at Cardiff Arms Park in 89. I was very disappointed when I found out the version on the Verona video wasn't actually 'live'! It's an amazing live song :)

I just checked the playlist to see if SM played this song when I saw them in 1989 here in Australia during their Street Fighting Years tour. The answer is no,they didn't. So, apart from the Verona concert video, this is probably the only other time I have seen it 'live'. Awesome Tony. It seems rare as a live, and such a good part of the SFY album. And it sounds true! :)

I never realized that, Rob. It was played every night on the SFY tour, but not when they went to Austrailia!!! Not sure why. It should have been just before "Belfast Child" towards the end of the night. Cheers for that info, Rob.

According to "dream giver redux" they didn't play it at my particular concert in Melbourne. Mind you, there is no other playlist for the other Aust concerts, so they may have just missed it on the night? And then again, they may have played it..... it was quite a while ago now. ;)

robyg70 This was also played in Liverpool, Thursday night (just gone). It was as good as this, if not even better! Charlie's solos were amazing!

robyg70 Not my intention, Rob, honest! It seems to be a regular in the set list. It was played at Bridlington tonight too. That's 3 times out of 3 gigs for me! Thanks.
