the reason i do gamedev is to let people play my games with my ideas
Hey Ask Gamedev thanks so much for featuring my game Watcher Chronicles!
Thanks for dropping by! Great work on Watcher Chronicles!
Don't give up indies! we're here to support you now more than ever
Im looking for Queenchantment ,one of the best thing in 2022 will be this game for sure. That unique controls, heavenly created characters, story and effects...it totally suits my taste
Many things inspired by Warcraft III mods are good.
It was really cool to see SNIPERPUNK get featured in the showcase. The other games look amazing too! I'm still on the grind, being a student and the team's only programmer is a lot of work, but in the end, it's all worth it.
Keep up the good work! SNIPERPUNK looks like a ton of fun.
Queenchantment looks amazing ! Take my money :D (I hope they port it to mobile as well )
Awesome video as always! These are some awesome game devs with their awesome projects. Truly inspirational. I will definitely check out their games. Also all the best to all of them. Keep it up! :)
Thanks for watching! And yes, definitely check out all the games! We've left links to each one in the description.
Yo! That sniperpunk game looks sick.
Honestly, particularly loving the graphic style
Great showcase! And funny timing, I made a video just 2 weeks ago that has almost the exact same title - I thought it was odd that this rather essential question hadn't been covered by anyone yet.
And I agree: When you ask other devs why they make games, you realize just how many interesting and inspiring answers there are. And of course, it's a great opportunity to reflect on your own thoughts.
Thank you! Awesome video by the way!
This is great to watch. I'm also starting to get into GameDev myself starting off with Game Maker Studio 2. Been having a blast learning on my own. Thanks for keeping the encouragement in me growing over the past few years AskGameDev team. :)
That awesome to hear! Let us know when you have a game to share. Keep at it!
Do you have any prior programming skills?
Nice video, I really like the mini game madness :D
Mini game madness look so FUN 😂
We appreciate it! 😄
Love this channel so much 😁
Ayeee congrats to everyone!!
There was Dog's donuts in The begining 😍
Hardest thing is finding time to make your game when you working Full time, Time management and be consistent..
Third, can't wait to show my survival horror game, Starfall.
Plenty of cool games! There are so many different game devs and games they're making, but the thing that units is the passion for games.
BUMBALLON IS AMAAAAAAAAAAAAZING!
Sniperpunk real?
Yeah! It's steam link is in the description!
For your next game engine showcase, could you do the Source Engine by Valve
Yea sniperpunk!
It's a good showcase but it lacks games made with Godot, speaking of which, I'm soon gonna learn Godot myself
I really want to know the song name in the background :(
Me too man, me too :(
8:13 reminds me of the 'Avenged sevenfold - A little piece of heaven' video clip.
Wanna see my next game here
can you do a video on games made with Unitys Bolt?
Braziliam game devs are amazing. Bumballon is perfect.
How do I join the discord server without mobile number?
"i want to show my ideas to people and let them play it"-me
Once again a great showcase
Thanks so much!
Hi im seth and im making a super smash bros like fighting game called xenomon the legacy trilogy but right now game development has been tuff besides the game maker 2 none of the development programs really stand out so im taking a break to find help
I want to start making games that send the ad revenue to nonprofit organizations.
Love the video But I'm looking a best game engine for 2022 I started game development in January and I'm looking for best game engine for beginners 2022
I'm also indie 2d game developer
I do it for the money. 😅
Unlike most indie devs, your honesty is appreciated.
valve source engine ?
i dont like making games... i just like the moooney. (jk i make cuz its fun)
I have not watched the entire video but I have a question. How is it in 2022 with all our technology that people can get away with making 2d games? People also get away with making the same ole crap over and over. I mean how many call of Duty games do we have? How many battle field games do we have? Who else thinks that Ghost of Tsushima is a slightly tweaked version of Ninja Gaiden? We have more than 9 games in the Tekken series including the original 7 . 5 virtue fighter , 6 Dead or Alive not including Beach Volleyball and Beach Volleyball 2 , 6 or 7 soul caliber , how many street fighters. A bunch of Tomb Raider not that I don’t love me some Tomb Raider. My point is come up with something original. It is time to let old franchises die . They let Solid snake go out with a bang why not old garbage too ?
Because everyone enjoys a niche or a classic, or at least there will always be a group of people that enjoy those games. It's the reason behind you liking your favorite genre, it's just something that people prefer. Both 2D and 3D can produce great games, and if you broaden your horizons, you might find that you enjoy a little of each :)
@@valisthevaliant to tell you the trueth I am not sure I have a favorite genre . I am not sure that video games really mean that much to me anymore . I am not saying that I do not like video games or that video games won't always be a part of my life . I am saying we need a little bit of creativity in game industry .
