I'm in reneaissance of discovering metal. This band is just sick, in a positive way. A blast without limits. Majority of metalheads might be stuck in the past, but as long as bands like this exist, metal will carry on and will never die
I love the old school stuff, but there is so much amazing metal out there, especially under the umbrella of progressive metal. What really keeps metal alive is how easy it is to incorporate other genres of music and the freedom to experiment. I'd say it's up there with Jazz and Classical when it comes to how broad of a scope it covers compositionally.
I don't have enough words to describe how masterfully this sounds. Ending part was perfect with how the vocals, instruments were slowly quieting down and then came a peaceful part. I was banging my head the entire time, neck's sore but it was worth it every second especially at the end. One of my favs this year. Big LOVE from Serbia and best of luck for the future :D
@@snipethecage7637 Their singer is definitely not bad (even if he was not that good on clean vocals on Heliocentric and Anthropocentric), but if you don't like him you could maybe enjoy the instrumental versions of their albums, or their older albums, if you didn't listen to them yet. The fact that the name of the album refferences the temple of Marduk, which is closely related to the Babel tower myth, and that the overall album theme is around elements from different mythologies makes my pp skyrocket. And of course, dvne fucking delivers with their music, as well.
Two different Babylonian civilizations. The old Hammurabi one would have been a lot closer to the tower of Babel than the new, Nebuchadnezzar empire would have, when Marduk would have been in their pantheon of gods.
@@olavolavson5302 Well, I'm pretty noob myself, so almost all I know comes from wikipedia. But anyways, the name of this album, Etemen Ænka, is pretty much Etemenanki, which means "the temple of the foundation of heaven and earth", and it was a temple in old Babilonia dedicated to Marduk, one of the main deities of their pantheon. There was a time where the jewish people were enslaved by the govenor of Babilonia from that time. The jews were held prisioners for about 60 years in the city of Babilonia, and it is thought that they linked the myth of the Babel tower with the Etemenanki during this period. Now, what @mktucker41 said was that the myth of the Babel tower comes from much earlier than the edification of the Etemenanki, but, you know, tales told always get mixed one way or another.

man that second song. what a brutal wall of sound with symphonic rock mixed into it in a merciless way. this is something else.& that last song, what a build-up from a heavenly sung hymn to full explosion. magical album.

The first album was a damn good stuff ! But this one is pure gold, I cant stop listen to it, its the definition of what I like in metal, this is just made for me !!! thank you guys.
Hey, where did the idea of metal being dead come from? To me it's clear that it's quite the opposite. Plenty of great metal bands, technical ones, rythmic ones, heavier ones and softer ones are pretty well recognised all around among those who care for this kind of music.
@@adrd208 We have heavy metal stuck in our soul and nothing is going to change. However maisntream does not give the due attention that metal deserves.

They're playing it in Edinburgh this Saturday, l'll be there👊🖤👊🖤👊
Yeah, I'm pretty blown away. It's been a really long time since I've heard an album this good. My favorite album from 2021 for sure.

That riff at 38:30 though
Court of the Matriarch has one of the best outros ever
Huge riff

Absolutely. Such an angry, sad, driven outro. Larger than life

For many who think that metal has died, the band Dvne proves the opposite and keeps the metal more alive than ever.
Anyone who thinks metal is or ever was dead has been living under a rock or simply too sentimental for their own good.
