[TAS] SM64 Star Revenge 1: Star Takeover - 1 Star by Zombie and Somebro in

This is a co-op task between me and Somebro ( / @andrewmm ) of Star Revenge 1: Star Takeover, made by BroDute. (www.speedrun.c...) This tas took about a week straight of tasing between us and took a lot of time and effort. We structured the initial run off of Tomatobird's RTA strat demo ( • Star Revenge 1: Star T... ), but we made many route changes and saved quite a lot of time. His run was originally a 2-star run, but we found a way to skip the final star by sliding under it, making it 1 star. The other star you get seems almost impossible to skip, as you need it to activate the mission for the end game pipe, so this is any% for this romhack.
This is most of the strats explained:
We die at the start to respawn near the Bowser 1 door.
We use poor collision detection on the sign to skip the Bowser 1 door; most doors with signs can be skipped in this romhack.
In Bowser 1, we use a GWK (glitchy wall kick) to land on a slope, followed by many wallkicks up to a different GWK spot to make it all the way up. This saves a very big amount of time, as you skip going through the entire level and make it straight to the pipe.
For the single star in the run, we jump a bit higher than would be optimal just for the fact that the star is a bit higher up. If you were to do a short jump you would miss and have to dive, wasting precious frames in the air, so its ironically faster to jump a bit higher.
To skip the 50-star door, we exploit more poor collision and clip right under the sign. This is similar to the 70-star door skip, where we jump-dive through the sign.
We die after collecting the second key to put us closer to the second key door.
We BLJ (Backwards Long Jump) on the stairs to gain enough speed to clip through the door and go into the pipe. From our testing, we do not think it's possible to simply clip through and we need a lot of speed to do so. We have to air BLJ one more time because we have to dodge the enemies, but this is faster overall, as we do not need to take time to kill them.
We use height and a weird spot in the painting on the wall to clip into the second pipe room.
To skip the 100-star door, we backflip and use the sign to push us through, followed by a door kick. This is where we skipped a star compared to Tomatobird's run, as we slid under the star instead of collecting it. This not only saved a lot of time but also allowed this to be considered a 1-star run instead of a 2-star run. Unfortunately, it is impossible to skip the red coins themselves, forcing the star animation to play in the first place.

Very satisfying tas to watch, even though I saw some sections which could have been improved slightly 🤷‍♀️
That last red coin star skip shocked me btw, had no idea that was possible and I still refuse to believe it is
