*Note to my regular / frequent viewers:* I will resume Mass Effect 3 and Baldur's Gate 3 when I can. I am still in recovery and mostly bed-ridden due to frequent illness from my damaged immune system. I can't really play at my regular desktop PC and have been playing older games (such as this) on my laptop while in bed. Baldur's Gate 3 won't run on my laptop (not well anyway) and Mass Effect 3's combat is not condusive to playing in bed on a laptop. Instead, I opted to finally do a proper video playthrough of Pillars of Eternity 2, a game dear to my heart. It's ideal to play / record from the laptop in bed and by narrating the protagonist and most of the other unspoken lines, I feel it is more "complete".. even if lacks anything resembling a professional performance (99% of the game is already voiced by professionals, but they didn't voice the player and some side-quest text also wasn't voiced, so I did my best. If it's especially annoying and enough people complain, I suppose I can stop doing it and just leave the text there only).

Thanks, I'm playing / recording pretty casually. I spend most of my time in bed anyway (doctor's orders, desperate to get out a bit) as I need to let my immune system recover more before I expose myself to bacteria of the outside world extensively. I just record for 30 to 60 minutes a day basically.. it helps this game is very easy to play casually in bed and editing it afterwards isn't too hard, takes my mind off things and gives me something to do. Definitely not over-doing it though, under clear orders from doctor not to stress myself with anything so the second I feel a bit tired of doing it, I stop immediately for the day.
I really love the Pillars Of Eternity series, I am in the process of playing the first one, but I have the second ready to be played. I can't help but wishing for a Pillars Of Eternity 3.
Speaking as someone who has never played this before, I honestly can't tell which parts you acted vs what was already in game. Im guessing it's the player character, but can't actually tell.
I only narrated the player's lines and the screens with a yellow background and blocks of text describing the scene. The main story text like that is professionally voice acted by Ashley Johnson, but the non-majory story text screens like those aren't professionally acted, so I narrate them myself. In episode 2 and later, I also narrate the descriptive text during dialogue (which I neglected to do in this episode). Just glad nobody has complained yet. 🤣
Hope you get better (also I do not care that your Voice work is not "at professional evel." I will take amatr VA over the AI voicing that some Role Play channels have started adopting.)
