Big thanks, your video helped me after one of my tuners got stripped thread :-) (E6 peg, from constant changing to drop D and back, if you're wondering)
Thank you, Mykola. This video is going to be very helpful to me. I have this same model of guitar, and I am about to start this same process. I needed to ask: Did this upgrade operation give, as a result, a more reliable instrument, in terms of being able to stay well in tune? (I took its original nut out and, now, I will replace its tuning machines) Thanks in advance.
Great video, I was going to pay a Luthier to do this for me but it doesn't look very difficult at all, thanks. I'm curious if there is anything that can go wrong like maybe not having the tuners perfectly lined up or crooked at an angle when putting them in.
I'm trying to do the complete opposite. I bought a Gibson SG Standard and I don't like the way the locking tuners look. I know they're great, but I like the way the standard/vintage tuners look.
@@mbz25 lmao 🤣 I just restrung my guitar after watching this so I wouldn’t forget. But for some reason the damn D and G string are out of tune from each other when I play. But when I check the tuning it’s all good
@@pattillo21 Think you will have to do some adjustments to it. If its a cheap guitar though sometimes that happens super annoying. Save up for a high quality guitar and you wont ever need to buy another one.
@@mbz25 yeah that’s a goal I just set for myself. What I have now is an Epiphone sg standard. It’s actually doing better today so I don’t know what the heck is going on lol But you’re right. I need to make some adjustments or at least have it looked at to see what can be adjusted.
Whoa! Please...What's that screw driver looking hand tool you're using? What size screw bit should I be using to drive the tiny screws on the backside? anyone?
I've been trying to look for any videos that speak on loose nuts. I keep turning the nut but it doesn't tighten? Happens for at least 3 strings and they always go out of tune any advice? Thanks 🙏

Been looking to do this for YEARS! Thank you for showing me how easy it is🔥
THANK YOU made it look much simpler than I thought it would be fixing up my own SG tomorrow
I should have measured the peg holes before ordering the guitar tuners.

@@iprotectmyinvestments8663 ok dude thanks!
Graphite is a kind of lubricant for the strings so they don't stuck in the nut. It increases the tuning stability while playing.

Hello sir, you never explained why you put the pencil lead on the nut?🧐. I am still learning
Graphite found in pencils lubricates the nut and prevents the string from getting caught in it. It helps keep the guitar in tune.
