I used this setup in church for the stationary musicians... drums, guitars, keyboards. Then I needed more I/O's and bought the X32 Rack and still using the HA8000.
Thanks for the video. However why don't we connect each IEM directly to the 6 AUX of the XR18 (without the HA8000)? Because as you know this will allow each IEM to independently control their personal IEM.
We pretty much use the same setup as a 4-piece band with the XR16 and the Behringer XA47000. Works great and yes, better audio quality that with a midpriced wireless monitor system we used before.
my x air 18 doesn't mount it's a desktop mixer and the aux sends are not xlr, they are 1/4 " so what kind of cable do i use. I have tried mono on each end and stereo on each end but only gets one ear. if we pull the jack out a little we get stereo. So do i need stereo on one end and mono on the other ?
What you're doing is the actual cheapest fix. The aux sends are mono but you need two signals for headphones. Tip-sleeve 1/4 inch out of aux send and Tip-ring-sleeve into headphone amp is the other way to get it working. You have to use the proper cable. Regular patch cables for guitars are 2 core. You need 3 core. Basically a mic cable. If you have an old one cut the ends off and make your own tip-sleeve to tip-ring-sleeve and your good. Plenty of youtube vids on how to wire them up.
Surely the aux outs on the xr can be xlr to3.5 jacks as the individual mixes and volumes can be done on the ipad or tablet, so that makes the HA redundant??
you need to rewire your xlr to TRS jack to unbalance the signal going into the headphone input or you get left in phase and right out of phase. look up how balanced outputs and headphone inputs work.
@@bjarkenielsen8515 Just buy XLR to regular 1/4 inch. Not TRS 1/4 inch. At my local music shop they are right beside each other on the rack. No re-wiring needed.
Hello I hope your well, sorry if my question is a little bit (or a lot) dumb, but am new at this. Your tutorial is very helpful but I am a little confused ont eh HA8000 part. So the XR18 of course allows individual mixes for each aux out. i.e. Aux one can had different levels of all the inpust , drums bas etc, so each aux hears the whol band albeit in their own prefernece of levels, now when connected to the ha8000 in the individual direct ins at the back, I thought these inputs can be heard by all headphones? is that right or is it only the mains in that can be heard by all.
how you doing man . I have a question for you and I hope you can help me. how can i use the behringer ha8000 with just the behringer air 18 mixer. Now tell me if it's worth buying the ha8000 because I have 2 monitors from Galaxy Audio Any Spot AS-900-4 Band Pack System, and one from Galaxy Audio AS-950 In-Ear Monitor System. Could you help me with this question? ? Thank you.
Hello, can I connect the Behringer p16D and the p16M to a Yamaha TF3 digital mixer with a DANTE card in the back and a Yamaha Tio1608D stage box, can I do this in the following order: Yamaha TF3, Dante Card, Cat5e, Yamaha Tio1608D stage box, BEHRINGER P16D and P16M. Can I do this?. Thanks
Question: the XLR out from each of the digital mixer is a stereo or a mono? When it’s into the HA800 I assume it’s an unbalanced steep that goes into the HA800?
The XLR out's are mono. The signal remains balanced if you use TRS 1/4 inch going into the headphone amp. If you use regular tip-sleeve only 1/4 inch then the signal becomes unbalanced. No harm done. Either way works.
I don't understand the need of the HA8000. I'm sorry. For my podcast I set up 4 microphones one for each participant and I set up 3 AUX to connect the headsets plus the phones output for me. At the AUX I plug a XLR female to 1/4" female conversor and... that's it. Every podcaster plug their headphone to those conversors and all works. So the function of the HA8000 is not clear to me. I would really appreciate you or someone comments on thus. Thank you very much.
I see your point! You are right! The HA 8000 gives more power to the iems without having to crank up the gain on the xr18. A cleaner sound. You probably could bypass it though, and keep it simpler
@@tejedor1967 Yes for a podcast. The idea behind the HA8000 is to boost the levels coming out the headphones. You wouldn't hear a thing if you had a drummer playing 10 feet behind you with just the out from the aux sends. Good point you made for podcasters. This is extra money spent for no good reason.
Awesome video I have the HA4700 version only 4 channels so that means i would only need to use the 4aux on the xr18. but if we have more than 4 people in our band then is it possible that the 2 person will share a head phone? since there is a headphone out in the front and in the back?
You could get a splitter that could split one channel into two. But you must realize that both of those channels would be exactly the same, because they’re coming from the same aux output. Hey why do we need this Amp can't you just use a XLR to 3.5 to be even cheaper? How dose the ha8000 help?

Yes! I realized this after the video was made!
you can but each would need something like the Behringer P2 Ultra-Compact Personal In-Ear Monitor Amplifier for $59 each.
Do you hear in both sides of the headphone? Or do u need a special cable or push the mono/stereo button? Can you explain please
