Man you have earned my sub for this, thank you I was able to fix my stick drift by doing this, and this was my second edge controller for this exact reason. At least now I know I can easily open it and try to remedy the issue if it happens again! Cheers!
@@souldevxurmine also has one screw, but it opens up basically the same way, just keep trying to pop it out carefully & it will work. I guess the 1 or 2 screws thing relates to different versions
thank you for this. just worked for me my left stick was drifting so bad some games were unplayable when i took apart the stick, it was filthy. like 7 hairs in it. oh and a can of a air dried it up very quickly
@@Z-Mikes00 right on! Happy to help! Too bad Sony won’t just make these available. I don’t imagine this being a forever solution but it will definitely help extend the life for a while.
So, if it’s already damaged, what’s the risk? The first time I did this to the left stick was 6 months ago. No problems yet. Over 2 months since I did this, still no issues.
Thank you so much! Both of my sticks suddenly started drifting so bad but I was able to make them work again by following your videos.

Glad I could help, and thanks for the sub. I don’t post often, but I appreciate it helped someone!
I’m so confused mine only has one screw and is seemingly glued completely shut

I believe I had an early module, because it only had one screw and the other holes weren’t drilled out.
@@threepac maybe, I’m no expert. I wonder what can be done to open it up.
@@Legobatmanmw3 I got it open. Your solution did work. The only difference is that the bottom plate just has one screw instead of four.

You just saved me 50 bucks.. thank you!

Yea no, don’t do this people, the module is already damaged. Drift will come back even worse. The carbon film is already damaged
