I love this song. The lyrics are so biblical. God's Word reveals to us that He is both perfect in "mercy" AND "truth"... God's mercy, loving kindness and grace, is always found connected to His truth.
"Mercy and truth have met together;
Righteousness and peace have kissed.
Truth shall spring out of the earth,
And righteousness shall look down from heaven." - Psalms 85:10-11 (NKJV)
When we think of God's merciful love, we must also ALWAYS connect it to His uncompromising truth that is based in His Word. Godly love and mercy must always exist together with biblical truth, not apart. God has given us His Holy Spirit to help us walk in this balance.
For those interested, I'm playing an Alvarez Artist Series Cutaway Dreadnought AD60SCBK. I've had this since around 2008. I almost sold it to a good friend, and I'm glad I didn't. It has served me well in years gone by, and is still a trustworthy instrument helping me to praise and worship the Lord.
