  • David Carradine in Q Giant Bird Attacking NYC. Filmed back in the 1970's this has commentary on the making of this scene where we see David in the Actual Crysler Buidling before CGI.
NOTE: fast forward 2 minutes for actual scene, no other way to cut this...

That blue screen composite shot is fantastic for the budget they had. Considering the blue shots had to be passed through the optical printer then. No computer compositing. Really well done. If only they'd had the budget to do all the monster shots blue screen and the falling guys as well on wires. Ah well, still great fun.

I knew I wasn't crazy! I kept telling my friend about this weird movie where there was a giant flying dragon in New York.

"Today, everything would be different, with CGI..." LOL !!! Larry Cohen would NEVER humiliate himself by using CGI. That's why he's great

I saw this on Betamax video way back in the early 80s. Theres something to be said for the 'dont take yourself too seriously' era of movies. The fact that a T-Rex-sized creature could fly around Manhattan in broad daylight, occasionally landing and eating peope....and NOONE ever saw it....hahahaha.

They kinda explained that in the film, that the afternoon sun was blocking the view of the creature from the people down below and it took advantage of that. You'll notice the victims never see him coming in the bright sunlight.

I saw this movie at the ABC Forest Gate in 1982: it was the last film they ever showed; it was probably the REASON they closed the place down!

B movies came in two forms, the ones that had medium quality that really tried to give some really serious work. The other kind are like Q the winged serpent, shoe string budget, scripts written by film school grads and hustling up some journey men actors with some folks off the street. You have a so bad it's good movie that gets the cult status tag.

@KalliExplosion That may be true, but , take a look at a movie made back in the fifties called,The Giant Claw, that was bad because of one main thing, the monster. These movies will always be with us though, they just have larger budgets,CGI and,6 writers ,with 2 more writers to change the first draft.

Why the fuck didnt they use a jet fighter instead of shooting at the creature in the air?

Q The WINGED SERPENT Deserves A Remake A New Dragon Movie And Make It RATED PG-13 Instead Of RATED R And Use Lines From The Original Film And Copy David Allen's Animation And Use Animatronics And CGI

this movie sucks in so many ways:
    -horrible plotline
    -horrible animation
    -using clips from other movies
