If he wouldnt have done that people wouldve complained. I completely agree with him. Still finished 1st and main players got a rest, young players got a ucl experience, subs get 90 minutes in the legs, we competeted against a good team. Overall I’m glad.

I get everyone calling for Chiesa, but Gakpo has scored in 9 out of his last 11 matches and last 6 homegames in a row. On the other side u have Salah. And then there’s Diaz, Jota who can play from the wing too. So I understand Slot as well, never change a winning team
The ref was crab, he can't even position himself correctly on the pitch. He got in the way of Endo before PSV equalized.

Being a crab is pretty difficult mate, hard to position yourself when you can only walk sideways.
He actually cost us that goal. The only space Endo had, he was in it. So yeah he directly contributed to our loss. 3

@A.Rostov well he had to have had the ball in order to lose it, but don't know what you saw, but was clearly trying to to get into a position that was blocked by the referee.
Very impressed how these youngsters played. As the season wears on, it's nice to have Chiesa as a very ample sub.
Shame about the 100%, but more important to give players a break.

Fantastic Fede. ❤ Literally created both the goals. Effortless dribbling as well. Solid 8-8.5 out of 10 for me. Surely, Fede deserves more minutes and potential starts from now on, no?
He is a topquality player obviously, but I understand Slot. Gakpo scored in 9 out of last 11 matches and his last 6 homegames in a row. On the other side there’s Salah. Then u have Diaz and Jota who can also play from the sides. Actually too many good players upfront, weirdly enough. In any other time Chiesa could be a starter

Great energy from Chiesa today just wish he was more efficient in it's use. With more progression O'Connell can make a dent in the 1st team. He looks like a nice fit for Slot's playing style.

Perfect analysis Mr. Houlden. Unfortunately, everyone in the defense played poorly, the midfield was also very weak. I'm only happy with the attackers, although I expected more from Jayden. If the usual strong midfielders are playing, Chiesa gets a lot more balls and chances. He was outstanding.
Quansah needs a loan asap! Needs to go to Middlesbrough, Burnley, Sheffield United or Blackburn, defensively sound teams and coaches. This January would be nice pls. Still waiting for Bradley to return to form taking a bit longer now. Tsimikas needs to raise his level. When will Nyony arrive? McConnell looks ok let’s see. Elliot had an ok night. Endo is comfortable being a squad player on this evidence didn’t show that he is willing to push into the first team. Danns was a disappointment. Robertson is on his way down we know this now for sure. Chiesa is ready! He’s arrived! The travelling fans sang his name as evidence, we have a sniper on our hands.
How can we possibly loan out Quansah though? Gomez is our only other back up at centre back and he is very injury prone. Quansah has been poor this season but another body in defence is better than none.
If you’re going to Loan Him at least loan him at the end of the season, at the moment we need bodies. We gain nothing from loaning players, if we’re not buying them.

Today’s match play by play was the highlight of my week. ⚽️⚽️
It's hard to judge Tsimikas. Puts great balls into the box and also makes some great tackles but then he also misses the easy tackles. I just wish he would be more adventurous and drive forward down that left flank. He receives the ball and just passes it back to the central defender way too often. I want him to cement that left back position but I just think there's better options out there for us at left back. Also I thought Robbo was decent at centre back.

Total 1 off game. So hard to rate. Great effort tho boys.
Chiesa’s performance was greatly overrated.
No doubt he had lots of energy, and he played hungry, and credit for the penalty, but how can we ignore how sloppy he was on countless occasions. A few good shots at goal, but so many bad touches, bad decisions, and turnovers (more bad than good honestly). Any other forward has that many bad plays, we wouldn’t hear the end of it.
If we’re rating players based on energy output alone (as it seems is the case here), hope people keep that same criteria when the other forwards have similar games. I can only imagine the criticism if Nunez for example had that many bad plays.

It's on Slot, he could've brought some starters as last minutes subs.
More importantly, he should've started Endo as CB, to add experience next to quansah, and start Morton with McConnell and Elliott in the midfield, or start nyoni in the midfield, and have Elliott uptop with chiesa and gakpo.
As it was, he basically left kelleher exposed, and did him wrong by that, and the whole team was out of focus because of that.
Stop taking these games so seriously, it’s a filer one. Players are human and are entitled to have bad days. And besides they didn’t even join the travel team, Salah, Van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold and other big names.
This game doesn’t matter even if you want the pride of finishing top you still have so no complaints

First time tonight I think. Prob won't happen again.
I think this game showed us that we do need squad depth. We do have a very world class 11. But the difference is in strengthening. When city won the league they had a world class bench aswell as a starting 11 and sadly in this day and age you need that espically with the amount of games that are played now. Chelsea’s done it. Though we don’t need to spend like them but it still annoys me seeing these things not being addressed this window.
I do have a feeling in my stomach that FSG are planning a massive rebuild next summer. They will let our lads go and then they will replace them with good signings in their position and then they will call it a day. They sadly most likely won’t sign another CDM. But they will sign salahs replacement unless they think Chiesa is that replacement.
(My overall thoughts are that Salah, Virgil, and Trent will go. The reason we aren’t spending is because we’re planning a big rebuild) if we don’t sign anyone though next summer then FSG need to leave

I don’t actually think it was a foul on Endo for PSV’s second goal. Endo was just being ponderous on the ball and had it taken away legitimately because this is bad habit of his tbh. Either being caught on the ball or just giving it away cheaply too much is why Slot doesn’t rate Endo. We shouldn’t make excuses for him either IMO

Why be so condescending to a group of players most of whom have hardly played and are young kids learning their trade? It was quite clear the game didn't mean anything other than giving game time and experience to the youngsters. You know nothing about football.
