I disagree about the bathroom. In the wild, cats are vulnerable while they're pooping, so other cats will "stand guard" while one does it's business. If your kitty insists on following you into the bathroom, it's because she loves you, and wants to protect you while YOU are... "vulnerable".
That's an amazing observation! 🤔 Never thought about it like that. It just goes to show, the ways our pets express their love and care can be both unique and touching. Thanks for sharing such an insightful perspective! 🐱💕
Absolutely! My girl Random sits right in front of me in the bathroom. She also does that soft chatter talk ONLY then, I think she's telling me "I got you man, relax and do your business."
I had a cat that would run passed me and smack my ankle. That was my que to yell tag and run after her. I would tag her, and run in the opposite direction and she would then chase me, run by, smacking me again. So much fun!
I had a black Tom cat who once tried to sit on my lap while I was on the toilet. Had a tabby who used to walk with me to the paper shop, use to stop to go to the toilet on the way and expected that I should wait for her to finish. Love cats.
My black cat Lotus comes into the bathroom while I am sitting. She loves attention, flops by my feet, meows to get onto my lap and will fall asleep while I play solitaire on my phone. Then I can roll her over and she will STREATCH out sooooo far on her back. Then she goes into the shower stall and chases her tail! (She never chases her tail anywhere else!!) I raised her from a small kitten and carried her around. She loves to bat at water pouring from a spigot. She RUNS past me as I walk around the house, then FLOPS in front of me for attention....
#1. I had just started taking meds to help me sleep and would be really drowsy going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. My Buddy, 15 yo, would come with me and if I dozed off, he would grip my thigh with his nails, waking me up. One night he got locked outside and I fell asleep on the biffy. I fell off breaking 2 ribs. He never got locked out again. 😊
Show them what you're watching. My kitty is fascinated by any video where there's any kind of movement, even if it's just somebody talking to the camera.
My cat is super jealous of the phone. I try to show him what I'm watching, I even put those "cat relaxing" videos for him, but he only tries to destroy it. He is super careful with everything else, he never breaks stuff on purpose, but the phone, he hates it so, so much.
I think the zoomies are also part of the prey instincts. Knowing how to run around their territory at full speed is important if they're being chased. Our cat sometimes pretends that we're big and scary, and runs away when we approach. She loves nothing more than for one of us to adopt a slow, lumbering gait and come after her in an obvious manner. She'll peek around corners and from under hiding places, and set off at full speed if she sees an opening. If she gets cornered, the game is over and she wants to cuddle.

I have seen my ginger cat just suddenly start revving up his motor and next thing you it's off to the races. He really sounds like a small motor.😂
I had a box that was the site of many vicious kitty wars. One would get in there and defend it with everything they had, sometimes for hours. Eventually they would have to leave, and it would be claimed, and then a new battle would be waged.
Mine was the same. I got her as a 2 year old stray and, not wanting to overwhelm her, I let her "be herself." I never picked her up but waited till she came to me. She did sleep with me. We did our own thing but she was my soulmate and I adored her.
Mine does many things, but she is not a cuddler. She doesn't like to be picked up and held. She sleeps next to me and allows me massage her, she bonks me and rubs her face on me. She gives me good morning kissy, follows to bathroom. Sits from across the room and looks at me, until I just notice her staring at me❤❤❤thats allegedly sign of love. But she is not a cuddler. The very thing I hoped for, when my babe came home from shelter 8 years ago. I love her so much!!! ❣️❣️❣️
I agree, a second cat would probably help bring him around socially. It also depends on how much you choose to initiate interaction. If you greet him when you walk into the room and give a small pet when you pass by him, he might decide to be more social.
Grass: calcium, fiber, moisture and micro-nutrients. My Tessa would go crazy for grass when we had our walks in the back yard. I Googled and found all those benefits. A blood test revealed she was dangerously low in calcium, we further learned she had a very rare auto-immune condition, so I always had crops of grass growing in the house. Smart girl taught her Cad Dad the benefits of grass. I always have grass crops on rotation in the house for the 3 additional black angels I adopted after Tessa's passing. #blackcatsrock #adoptdontshop #tessaslegacy ♥ Nice video. Thank you for posting it.
I got a little "gift" yesterday. I was about to take a step and thought, "What on earth is that?" It was just the hind legs and tail of a mouse - all in one little piece. I guess the rest was too irresistible.
When I was a kid my mother would send us to the corner store for bread or milk. Our cat would secretly follow us all the way there, slinking from house to house and bush to bush staying hidden. He would hide behind something outside the store and then follow us home the same way.
Thanks. I am a first time cat owner (for nearly a year now) and my little kitty still does things that I can't figure out why. I was told that is normal.
You're welcome! Being a first-time cat owner is a learning adventure. 😺 It's completely normal for your kitty to do things that leave you puzzled-cats have their own quirky ways!🐾❤️
If your cat wants to be petted all of the time, but scratches you afterwards then it may mean that they have fleas. Petting feels good, but then they are itchy all over. It's like scratching a mosquito bites, which makes it worse!
My cat absolutely follows me into the bathroom because he is fascinated by the shower. When he realizes I'm just doing something else, he brushes against my legs for a couple of seconds and leaves. But when he sees a pre-shower routine, he sticks around, gets super excited when I turn the shower on and becomes torn between his terror of getting wet and how awesome he finds all that water falling down, so he ends up going to a safe distance from the shower, but stares at it like he's worshipping the water gods 😂
I still haven't found a cat perch on Amazon that's easy to put together. I haven't got my cat yet I'm going to look for one at the end of September, before I bring one home I'm planning on getting everything it needs cat tree, comfy bed toys feeders etc
@@richardharmon647 Tree is a good idea if it has a scratching area - ideally more than one so if they wake up and need a stretch they don't use the furniture! Get one with sisal rope, and it's pretty easy to replace (and cheap!) when they destroy it! Remember that the scratching post should be tall enough that they can just stretch to the top and dig claws in - mine is 2ft / 60cm high, and the unripped area starts 3cm from the top. he's not a big cat either - only 4Kg! Beds ... the jury is out. Mine has fourcat / dog beds all to himself - but mostly he sleeps on the sofa, or my bed, or on my keyboard, or ... anywhere he fancies at that moment. Nights he's on my bed. sleeping between my ankles. Toys ... lots. He'll show you what he likes (what used to be fish shaped, but has been pretty much destroyed in Dij's case.) Litter trays ... general rule is one more tray than you have cats, and clean them often - poo and pee. Use and absorbing litter (and they can be fussy about which one) but remember that their noes is about 15 time as good as ours. I hate peeing in a smelly bar loo, so it's probably even worse for cats. Last thing you want is them to avoid the litter trays and go under your bed! Hopefully, you'll find a cat at a rescue place - they generally have a large stock - and the ones round here insist on neutering, which is a very good idea. Chipping the cat is also highly recommended. Enjoy!
@@richardharmon647 talk with a tree service and see if you can get a section of trunk or branch about 14 to 18 inches around and 2 1/2 to 3 feet high. Then just bolt a couple pieces of 2x4 to the bottom and plywood to the top. It's a lot sturdier and cheaper than that chintzy overpriced crap on amazon My cats absolutely love it
I think the "making biscuits" is a matter of treating you like their mother while they were weaning. But I think it also means they were never thoroughly weaned because they were taken from or left their mother too early. The reason I say this is because I took in a street cat who had four kittens over a year ago and they are still here with me and their mother. Not one of those kittens have ever done the kneading thing on me. And these are the only cats I have ever had that didn't "make biscuits".
@Dodgerzden I think it's the individual cat. I also took in a feral cat who had 4 kittens and all 4 insist on making biscuits as adults. Even the Mom does it for up to half an hour at a time on my lap while purring loudly and looking dreamy eyed. They reprimand me if I don't allow it!
Growing up, we had a female cat who was the ace hunter between her & her brother. She wasn’t nearly as affectionate as him, but she left us a “gift” on our backyard steps every. single. morning. She didn’t especially want us to pet her, but apparently she was still worried that we’d starve without her hunting skills😂
What a funny and sweet memory! 😂🐱 Your cat sounds like she was quite the hunter and very thoughtful in her own way. It's amazing how they show their love in such unique ways. Thanks for sharing this adorable story! 😊❤️
Excellent video as always. Did anyone else notice that the brown classic tabby at 2:52 - 2:55 has stripes on his/her haunch that appear to spell "cAT"? This isn't necessarily photoshopping. I had a cat, when I was young, whose stripes on her right foreleg appeared to spell "silly". It really happens 🙂
Thank you so much! 😊 It's amazing how nature can create such unique and surprising patterns on our feline friends. I didn't catch that cat pattern, but it's incredible! Cats never cease to amaze us with their quirks and unique markings. 😸✨
Oh my girl Hollie is my little wirdeo. I have heaps of comfortable places for her to sit on but she'll rather sit on cardboard or sit on shopping bags. Like, right now she's sitting on cardboard. And 1 time she's sitting on the floor in my bedroom and she's just facing my wardrobe and just like staring at it. Cat logic!
Cats and their quirky habits, right? 😂 Cardboard and shopping bags over comfy cushions? That's classic cat logic for you! And the staring at the wardrobe?
5:25 I actually have to go to the grocery store to ask for cartons just to make my cats happy. It's hot in my country so no catbed, but they adore cartons, and boxes.
my cats welcome me home by rolling on the ground to collect as much dry dirt as possible to have me wipe that off them. One of them shows his affection by constantly nipping me. Another one when in good mood loves to bend her head backwards for dramatic pose when I pet her head. Another one vibrates her tail high up when she sees me. Then there's the old frisky one that enjoys giving me high five from higher places. I also have a handicap cat that lets me do almost anything with her, her strange quirk is that when ever I pet her, she lowers her head to lick the ground and lifts it back up to get more pets
Your cats sound like such a delightful and unique bunch! 😻 It's amazing how each one has their own special way of showing love and affection. Thanks for sharing these adorable quirks with us. 🐾❤️
Its really hard to give cats medicine and mine is the worst. I tried diluting it in his water bowl thinking he is going to have to drink eventually. He kicked the bowl across the kitchen. I now have someone hold him down while i get the pill in his mouth. He has learned how to spit. I used to think he really loved me because he sleeps on top of me but then i realized its warmer there.
Try coating the pill in butter and make sure it isn't too big. The butter helps it go down smoother and makes it less likely they'll taste the medicine and drool like a St Bernhard. They'll still fight it, but I usually get the pill down in 3 tries or less, where w/o butter it can be quite a few more. If the pill isn't incredibly bitter, you could try crushing it and giving it in an aromatic wet food like tuna or fish.
There's a very friendly outside cat who visits my house a lot. She has given me whole, fresh mice on several occasions. I always thank her, and say I just ate. When she leaves, I bag it up and hide it deep in the trash. I think she thinks I eat them!
My cat Cleo (part Mao, part ?) first arrived at about six months old, and he used to cry every time I went into the shower. My guess is that he thought the loudness of the running water was hurting me. But it didn't stop him from playing in the tub at all other times, wet or dry. For some time now, he has done something odd when I enter the room. If I stop at the entrance, I see him staring right at me, but he does not move a muscle. But as soon as I enter, he shakes his head vigorously about 3 times and coos a partial meow of greeting. What is that about? Is he in a trance?
Both insist on banging on my bedroom door for night cuddles before they go downstairs to sleep. They have each other to play with and when I’m awake they either hunker down in my lap, get their toy out of their box for fetch with me or snooze. They seem to know when weekends come and they like to sleep a lot. Non of my past cats ever ran around crazy and neither do my two as they have each other to chase. But just running around to run around nope.
They have several boxes I have their open carrier out but mostly when Manny2 wants to pester his sister she’ll hop into a box. My two either like my couch a chair or my lap. Or one open brown bag and one bag is flat that Manny2 likes to loaf on.
It sounds like Manny2 and his sister have quite the setup with all those cozy spots! Boxes, bags, and laps make perfect retreats and play areas for cats. It's great that they have so many options to choose from, whether they're in the mood for playing, loafing, or just enjoying some sibling rivalry. Thanks for sharing this glimpse into their cozy cat life! 😸📦
My cat "FUZZY" loved limburger cheese ! You know - it's that stinky cheese that has been portrayed on old cartoon shows . She was a stray that I had for little over a year until she died from a cat virus . I miss her . She was a beautiful calico cat .
I have a cat named bear that can get on my nerves but I still love him either way and there are sometimes you can get on my nerves yes there are sometimes he can be there for me 😉💖

Okay what about suckling on themselves like actually on their teet? My Cujo typically only does this when I'm petting her or if I'm like sitting down watching TV and petting her add bedtime she'll curl up show curl up on my chest and do the suckling thing to herself while making biscuits. Some information I do know about her I got her I want to say when she was around 4 months she's 7 months now. And the mother did abandon her and her brother. Is this something that will go away with more time I'm trying to break her of the habit? She only does this from what I've seen when I'm holding her in some way or petting her
My cats don’t mind a belly rub. But since I’ve done it and no teeth the novelty to rub a belly isn’t there any more because I’ve done it. But I start on their sides and work my way up to a rub. And of course they get kisses.

I had a box that was the site of many vicious kitty wars. One would get in there and defend it with everything they had, sometimes for hours. Eventually they would have to leave, and it would be claimed, and then a new battle would be waged.
My cat actually sat down beside me and watched all of this video with me. I think she gives you the thimbs up!
Are they tired, are they on catnip?! 😅😅😅
video title is wrong, cats do not have owners :/
So many questions have been answered....made me LoL my 3 cats have all these qualities.
With a dog, you're the owner, with a cat, you're the butler!
One time 2 of my cats were sleeping in a small box together, it was adorable
My cat never does any of this . He doesn’t like hugged or never follow me. He just likes being alone and eat. Do you know why?
Mine was the same way, UNTIL I got a second cat. Once he was used to her, I noticed that he was a lot more social and playful, both with me and her.
I agree, a second cat would probably help bring him around socially. It also depends on how much you choose to initiate interaction. If you greet him when you walk into the room and give a small pet when you pass by him, he might decide to be more social.
Maybe he just doesn't like you?
My cat loves to watch animals on RUclips like birds eating food. :)
When the cats laying around I always call it winding it springs, then when that spring is sprung stay away from them.
Cats don't have "owners" ffs! They have STAFF!
I think cats actually have fun being sneaky
So glad RUclips RUclips got right and sent your video to me. Love your channel & just subscribed❤❤❤😊
Thank you so much! 🥰 It’s great to have you here! Get ready for lots of fun and furry content. ❤🐾😊

I never heard of this before, thanks for the input I'm going to do some more research on it
My cat girl, One Toke loves asparagus! And green beans! I have a gallon pot of mixed grasses growing all the time!
my kitty loved asparagus too.. i would steam it and give her her own portion
I got a little "gift" yesterday. I was about to take a step and thought, "What on earth is that?" It was just the hind legs and tail of a mouse - all in one little piece. I guess the rest was too irresistible.
Sharing is caring!
😂
All of the above apply to our 2 kitties. They must really love us.
Cats liking to be up high is simple - just two words covers it: "Air Superiority". 😁
😆smartass
Toys ... lots. He'll show you what he likes (what used to be fish shaped, but has been pretty much destroyed in Dij's case.)
Litter trays ... general rule is one more tray than you have cats, and clean them often - poo and pee.
It's a lot sturdier and cheaper than that chintzy overpriced crap on amazon
My cats absolutely love it
2 of my cats come to the bathroom because they love to watch the water swirl in the toilet 😂
@@tomjones2157 Interesting. Maybe it's learned behavior from the Mom?
Ours is not to reason why, ours is but to love and serve

Growing up, we had a female cat who was the ace hunter between her & her brother. She wasn’t nearly as affectionate as him, but she left us a “gift” on our backyard steps every. single. morning. She didn’t especially want us to pet her, but apparently she was still worried that we’d starve without her hunting skills😂
What a funny and sweet memory! 😂🐱 Your cat sounds like she was quite the hunter and very thoughtful in her own way. It's amazing how they show their love in such unique ways. Thanks for sharing this adorable story! 😊❤️
First I love my cat so much thank you for these tips 😺💞
🔻(if you too!)
That's not weird, that is homecoming vibes for us catlovers.
I remember when I lived in the country my first cat brought home half a rabbit.
My cat almost gets in the shower with me. She’s has the shower curtain to keep the water away
Cats often get the zoomies after they go #2.
Haha, yes! 😹 It's so funny how cats get the zoomies after doing their business. It's like they get a sudden burst of energy out of nowhere! 🐾💨
Don't we all feel better after relieving ourselves?
Goodness! Who is that gorgeous specimen of manliness asleep with that scrunchball on his chest!!!!!????
😂😂😂
7:17, background border collie. I too have kit-kits and BCs
My cat does that too!
My cats, especially when they were small, used to stretch in front of me a lot. Every time they saw me, or wanted food, they'd stretch. Why was that?
Trust!
Cats are cool. ps I like your voice .. what accent? Ireland?
Thank you so much for the compliment! And yes, it's American-Irish 🌞😽
American.
@@lorindawinter3057 no way I am American even Brooklyn and we have many different accents but this is not one .
Apologies. Then I'm stumped. The twang and the pronunciation of the 'a' sounded awfully American to me.
5:25 I actually have to go to the grocery store to ask for cartons just to make my cats happy. It's hot in my country so no catbed, but they adore cartons, and boxes.
Weird , often, is only what you don't understand.
my cats welcome me home by rolling on the ground to collect as much dry dirt as possible to have me wipe that off them.
@@amandachamberlain3169 thanks!
My cat Eddie always follows me to the Loo.
Thank you.
It is Soo COOL When they get in Boxes, when I get other Kitty I am going to make sure She has a High Tree to get in and a BOX.
i removed my house plants, only one breed had fast enough reflexes to figure out a cactus plant , the others got stabbed
My cat has 3 Maremmas to play with. He adores them, and they him. Therefore, he terrorises them.
Anything else he does, I just call him 'weirdo'
2:23 😂
I have one cat that loves lettuce and kale. 😂
#6: Making biscuits: My mom cat does this to pull in the kittens. Not so much physical, but to show the kitten what direction to move.
I love these kind of videos the cat grass this I need to tell my friend 😮
Replace, “weird” with “AWESOME!”
My cat wanted a drink when I would go to the bathroom
Both insist on banging on my bedroom door for night cuddles before they go downstairs to sleep. They have each other to play with and when I’m awake they either hunker down in my lap, get their toy out of their box for fetch with me or snooze. They seem to know when weekends come and they like to sleep a lot. Non of my past cats ever ran around crazy and neither do my two as they have each other to chase. But just running around to run around nope.
My cat Rocky scratches the carpet thats his way of telling me he wants to go outside
My Siamese cat jimmy loved water. Would always follow me to the bathroom watch me jump in the tub .
@@Feline_Fanatics you’re very welcome. Meow!
The cat is the father of all survivors, what killed him was the inclination of curiosity - It is important to learn from him as a human being
My cat "FUZZY" loved limburger cheese ! You know - it's that stinky cheese that has been portrayed on old cartoon
shows . She was a stray that I had for little over a year until she died from a cat virus . I miss her . She was a beautiful
calico cat .

I watch these videos with my cat. He likes them
I have a cat named bear that can get on my nerves but I still love him either way and there are sometimes you can get on my nerves yes there are sometimes he can be there for me 😉💖
usually these videos are bullshit but this one is actually really accurate & informative
The accent isn't right but the narrator still made me think of The IT Crowd.
Jen: Aww, look at that cat, isn't it cute?
Roy: Erm...no.
Jen: Wha'...?
Roy: I don't like cats?
Jen: You don't like cats? Why on Earth not?
Roy: They're little weirdos.
Jen: For God's sake.
Maybe your cat follows your around because you're a banquet the moment you pass away. They won't think twice about tucking in to you.
Yeah…I’ve thought about this before 😅
Always the tails are up with mine.
I was intrigued by your accent, please what country do you live in. Many thanks.
As cute and adorable as cats are, I haven't a clue why on Earth they seem to think I should be fascinated with their butts.
Yes we'll said
*well
None of my three cats sit in or look for open boxes. Strange.
