This was the first song I ever got 100% on Guitar Hero World Tour. Not just that, but literally 9/10 times I am in the menu of that game (and I shit you not) this song is playing. Long story short I took this as a sign. It is now the first song I learned on Rocksmith, completely.
Tus videos me ayudan a querer seguir practicando y no bajar los brazos, ya que empece a tocar de grande!gracias!///Your videos help me to want to keep practicing and do not give up, and I started to play old! Thanks !(sorry for my english) :)
Riff Repeater Tips on strumming chords that are spaced apart? For instance 2nd string 3rd fret, 4th string 5th fret, and not hitting the 3rd string when playing,
Isharu Matsu It's actually better to learn to mute the strings with your index finger instead. When you're playing octave chords like that, the tip of your first finger should be on the second string while also "barring" down (but without adding pressure) to lightly mute the 3rd, 5th, and 6th strings. The third finger is on the fourth string. This leaves the middle finger to mute the E (first) string, and your pinky is just hanging out. This is the way I've always played these chords, and I've been playing for about 8 years. The reasons I believe it's the optimal method is because: you're covering the vast majority of the strings with just two fingers, giving you accuracy and agility because of the freedom of fingers. Also, when you're learning more complex chords, your pinky and middle finger now slide right into the mix and you've already got a solid foundation for a base structure and muting / board control. The same principle applies when playing octave chords another string up (third and fifth string) with minor modifications. The octave is now two frets away instead of one so the 5th string is held by the pinky instead of the ring finger. The index finger, just as before, still bar mutes every string below it (the "root note"), and the middle finger still bar mutes every string above it (the "root note") I hope this becomes helpful information for anyone just starting out.
I just bought this on amazon today. I have absolutely no prior skill on guitar ( guitar hero doesnt count =.= ) and Im hoping I can pick it up. Im so excited to start.
Great run through the song. Do you set your note error to high? Or no errors? I feel like all the little subtle rhythmic note pics in the intro I mess up here and there. Any tips for getting that feel down?
do you use the dynamic difficulties to learn it? i tend to have problems with them, so i usually just start riff repeater, set it to 100% difficulty, but to around 50% speed, then learn it all and speed it up.. this somehow makes things easier for me..
Yeah, when you pass 100% on a song in rocksmith, it means that you have mastered the song "note by note" then the game recognizes you know the song by heart and starts pulling away the notes on the screen ... Excuse my english if i had bad grammar or wrote anything wrong, I'm still learning ;)
Just to echo what MikeBass said: Rocksmith has a mode of play called "Master Mode". When a player obtains high enough proficiency with a song, Rocksmith will start to hide the notes (as can be seen in the above video). A completion percentage above 100% means that the player can play the song even when some (or all) of the notes are hidden.
MikeBass Here's what I need that I do NOT currently have to play this game: A real guitar/bass guitar An Xbox 360 or a PS3 or a decent computer and of course the tone cable.
No need to be sarcastic.. i am playing it i just think there is something wrong with my install. none of the chords show up when playing the game, i hit them and get credit for them but on the tablature highway the game uses they do not show up. i was just wondering if there was a setting i missed..
hard to see cause since he played this song many times (or few but with great results) practice mode tempts the user to go and play master mode, where you have to play the song by heart. hence, the notes to be played are harder to see

Would this be a good game for an amateur player that can read tabs?

Brilliant! Can't wait till I hit those numbers!
Thank you the blue and orange on the same fret and then switch to the blue 5... I knew there was a technique to it
The D5 to D progression always trips me up for some reason
My play style forrocksmith has been to be on par with Riff Repeater. Once I get a 98% on this song, I can move on lol. You rock dude.
I just bought this on amazon today. I have absolutely no prior skill on guitar ( guitar hero doesnt count =.= ) and Im hoping I can pick it up. Im so excited to start.
How did it work out for you?
He forgot to buy a guitar and was like fuck it
@j0nsku466 laugh too hard at this lowkey
F'ing love this song....

Dope guitar!
This song is surprisingly easy to learn lol
Bob Goudreau I started playing two weeks ago and got 90% of it already
Bob Goudreau i picked up guitar back in December and i got like 90% in like a day
Bob Goudreau not really I got it up to 80% when I first got rocksmith and I never had touched a guitar before
do you use the dynamic difficulties to learn it? i tend to have problems with them, so i usually just start riff repeater, set it to 100% difficulty, but to around 50% speed, then learn it all and speed it up.. this somehow makes things easier for me..
yeah, fast strums
Eu amo jogar Rocksmith
Rocksmith 2014 - Guitar - Foo Fighters "Everlong"
It's not me, It's from Riff Repeater (the Rocksmith/Bandfuse online magazine), but I do play Rocksmith.
Um..Why did you repeat the title in the comments? It's like you think we can't read, wtf?
elitebelt So that it would copy to Google+ with the original title. It's normal practice on G+, wtf?
Ian Atkinson Who the hell even uses that crap?
Onto my block list list you go with the rest of the lowlife shit. :)
Guys, after 7 years of owning Rocksmith, I think I got it
103.2%???
Um, #confusedbeyondreason here.
Anyway, that was beautiful. I'll always, always love this song.

Nice. Right on with that. I wish I had the money to pick this game up...of course I still need a real instrument.
Try to pick an instrument, it is something magical when you can play the songs that you like and of course play your own songs ...
MikeBass Here's what I need that I do NOT currently have to play this game:
A real guitar/bass guitar
An Xbox 360 or a PS3 or a decent computer
and of course the tone cable.
Hi how do you play 1:26 , what about the D string?
Damn I'm so jealous right now xD
so is your new channel elison
103.4% Mastered on Rythmn for me (I'm a rythmn guitarist)
i'm getting better at this song; its the strumming pattern that keeps fucking me up tho - hope i can play as good at this one day
Why is it that everytime i play the opening riff on RS get a bunch of misses when im playing it perfectly
Intonation, technique, old strings?
Riff Repeater well tbh i havent changed my strings in nearly a year now i think you’re right 😂
Same thing happened with the *other* old channel,
I use only downstrokes so it gets extremely tiring on the hands, good for practice, though.
I always felt that Dave Grohl was a far more talented song writer than Kurt Cobain was.
he learned from kurt...
He was a musician before he met Cobain.
djay6651 They're both talented in their different genres!
.
Correction... He wrote marigold. A nirvana song. I know he was in a band called SCREAM out oh Washington, D.C. Area
Nice!
What happened to the old channel?
I just got a good 95% on this song I love the Rhythm but I still need to work on the lead
Are those.....pants?
Elison, I've always wondered, when playing which do you find yourself looking at more? The screen or your guitar?
The world may never know 0.o
LooseSnake348 the screen if you watch his live streams 95% of the time he stares at the screen
I only want this game so I learn how to play this ha ha
3:57 HE WENT SUPER SAIYAN
103 percent, does that mean I broke it?
no it is just going up still cause hes playing so well (making the chords and notes harder to see)
Mastermode after a while the notes disapear when youve played them over for long time
How the hell did you get 103%
Master mode
hax
I can't be the only one who find Rocksmith incredibly hard and frustrating to play
Playing guitar in general is incredibly hard and frustrating. That's what makes it so rewarding in the long run.
I play nightmare
Holy Crap, I don't think I will ever get that good. :(
This song is actually easy get an acoustic guitar and learn it from that way first.
Thievishaura42 Games Really, only on acoustic though?
You could learn either way but i just like the acoustic version better :p
Thievishaura42 Games Thank, turns out I am getting better and i'm almost done learning Best of You. :)
it becomes easy once you figure out the picking hand !
how do you get the chords name to show up on screen like that?
rabidgnome I find that playing Rocksmith 2014 helps
No need to be sarcastic.. i am playing it i just think there is something wrong with my install. none of the chords show up when playing the game, i hit them and get credit for them but on the tablature highway the game uses they do not show up. i was just wondering if there was a setting i missed..
That is very peculiar, are you on Windows 10? Maybe try "verifying integrity" in Steam
i just reinstalled its working now, thank you
+Mandrake he has master mode on
The bass part to this is fast and kind of tiring on the hands
A7X songs as finger even though they are picked try fingering them
why does it sound of beat? jw
Tyrone Wilson its foo fighters lots of their songs have off beat guitar parts
SubSide Gaming nah it just sounds off beat on the players part...or maybe your right
Tyrone Wilson yes there's delay on what you hear and see as the vocals are off time
Seems alright to me.
SubSide Gaming yea it was probably the delay
1:35
ur not supposed to mute the blue string?
Yes you are, that is what the notation implies
minus for rocksmith is he dosnt show how beat strings
Look closer
hard to see cause since he played this song many times (or few but with great results) practice mode tempts the user to go and play master mode, where you have to play the song by heart.
hence, the notes to be played are harder to see
Michał Stępień Move closer to screen.
