MONONEON is an American bassist, experimental musician, singer and songwriter.
He is right-handed but plays left handed upside down on a right handed bass guitar which allows him to bend the upper strings a lot. Because he does everything upside down, his style is unique, yet he still uses his thumb for slaps and his fingers for pops.
The work of MONONEON spans multiple experimental projects and collaborations, including PRINCE. MONONEON was the last bassist PRINCE hired before his death in 2016 and he additionally played bass on singer NE-YO song ‘Makin a Movie’ released in 2010.
ERIC GALES also known as RAW DAWG is an American blues rock guitarist, originally hailed as a child prodigy.
Although he plays a right-handed guitar ‘upside down’ (with the Bass E string on the bottom) he is not naturally left-handed, he was taught by his brother, who is left-handed, and never second-guessed the non traditional technique.
