He was so good in this role that even seeing him in interviews is chilling because you can't help but think about the character he played so incredibly
I’ve loved him in everything I’ve seen him in and this interview solidifies how funny and fun to be around he is. Love the back and forth on this one, you could tell they were both enjoying it.
This pairing could become late night legend, their chemistry is awesome! Also, I could watch Paul Walter Hauser step over that hedge in The Afterparty, every day for the rest of my life 🤣
Just went and watched his mini documentary about his life on I Am Second RUclips channel that he mentioned. Fair warning if you’re not familiar with “I Am Second” it’s about people who have bettered their lives through Christianity. I hadn’t heard of it before and didn’t know that’s what it was about until later in the episodes. So if that doesn’t immediately turn you off it’s a good and interesting story they have. His wife is a tough and special woman for sticking with him through everything. It’s a testament of her character to allow someone the ability to be forgiven in a world that often tells us to never forgive. And I love how he has taken 100% accountability for himself. Hope he stays on a good path and that their family can continue to thrive. He seems like a genuinely good and sincere dude.
His wife used to lead a Bible study at my church for teen girls years ago. She is an absolute powerhouse who survived an abusive first marriage and continues to be a radiant and tough-as- nails human since then. So happy she ended up becoming a mom like she has wanted for years, and that her spirit and faith helped lead to a healthy marriage as well, even if the journey to it was not ideal.
For those wondering what was said (CC is no help) at the end that caused Colbert to lean in and jokingly say, "You F**ker", it was because the second before Colbert stumbled over his words and Paul Walter Hauser mocked Colbert with his response. Given the earlier conversation about wrestling (which involves staged demonstrations of machismo, and trash talk before throwing down) it was a perfect and probably improvised way to end the interview.
@@fishcough1 Stephen was trying to day "Does this refresh your memory?" but accidentally said "Does this refes..refresh your mind?" So PWH jumps on it and says "I say does this caress your genitin?" because it's another rhyme that's also nonsense and not the real saying
I love how Hauser physically pulls away from Colbert after he responds in gibberish as though Colbert is going to wack him. He must have grown up with brothers 😄.
I just saw Kingdom on peacock twice in one month🎉 he was brilliant and I loved his character Keith. If you haven’t seen Kingdom you’re missing out so many amazing performances especially Nick Jonas
As an er nurse I can confirm that yes, people have needed spinal surgery from a trampoline! 😂 Love this guy! Congratulations to you and your family for your sobriety.
Ya know...when he first stepped out my thoughts mirrored yours: ouch. By the end of the conversation, his emotional / improvisational intelligence was shining so brightly that I forgot. I dig that he's an unconventional looking dude who seems able to succeed due to his creative genius. Plus, facing his emotional demons in the therapy rooms. His wardrobe styling is such a trivial concern next to those mammoth achievements. Go, PWH 🤪
Colbert tries to say "does this refresh your memory/mind" but trips over his own words a little, and Paul catches him and gives him a hard time, which is why they start laughing and Colbert threatens to cut him. Paul does it again by catching Stephen pronounce Demi's name wrong 😂
Hauser hauser wowser wowser what is that is it humpty humpty is it an alien os it superman wow man where is ya neck wowwwwzerrrr style n fashion . . Not
something very unsettling about his wardrobe choice showcasing the unfortunate neckline of this physique makes it pretty unwatchable. He sounds heartfelt etc but I struggled with viewing and I have no idea what professionalism the host had to exert. I hope he gets better and/or finds better wardrobe choices.
no. My personal Comedy taste says NO. You got this far and stumbled? Listen, listen... sorry what? Colbert has to bail you out? Jesus is James Cordon booked?
Paul is f..king hilariously sharp while totally being himself. What a legend..........oh, and also a superb actor.
Watchting PWH bust Stephen's chops was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣 This is easily the most entertaining Colbert interview of January.

He will always be that Juggalo kid in It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia to me.
Best delivery when asking Charlie, if he’s ever had sex.
I did not realize this was him! I thought he did a great job on Sunny
my fucking mind has been BLOWN
THANKS FOR SHARING Paul❤ LUV from your friends in Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦. Day 3867 dry/sober😊
Very good actor. I loved him in Blackbird. He really played that psychopath role extraordinarily well.
Wasn't he the "Stingray" from Cobra Kai?
Absolutely
Yes. He is stingray 😂
Yep that's stingray
Yes sir lmao
Ohhhhh yes

that was hilarious. Stephen loves a good quick reparte(pretend I added the accent)
That doesn’t answer our question.
@@fishcough1it does if you watched the interview.

@@matthewgillies7509I did, and it doesn’t. Dude said something.
Am just finding out about him. Whoa! His personal story is so compelling. Substance abuse is the worst. Way to overcome! 🙌🏼
This men is an amazing actor. Blackbird was just amazing
This dude has just amazing versatility. Blackbird was an absolute masterpiece.
I wanna see Stephen get in the ring and wrastle this dude! I love when Stephen gets feisty!!
I love how Hauser physically pulls away from Colbert after he responds in gibberish as though Colbert is going to wack him. He must have grown up with brothers 😄.
Great interview😂
He's a great character actor. I can't wait to see him in Tarantino's Movie Critic
Oof. Sorry, man
I love this actor he was absolutely amazing in black bird 👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Holy crap. THIS is the kind of man I want as my life partner. That wit, that charm, that humor and intellect.... DAYUM!
He's a good actor. He was good as Richard Jewell. He's good at playing dimwits like one of the henchmen in Cruella.
The only thing I'm a pro at is crastinating.
I was gonna write that, at some point.
"Strip tease 2"... 😂😂😂 and everyone missed it
Edit: The sparkling wit on this man is just almost too distracting 🤣👍
Jaime taco keeps taking my lines!
Even closed captions didn't understand what he said when showing his Emmy to the hotel people. That was hilarious.
Michigan here. We love PWH!!!
I just saw Kingdom on peacock twice in one month🎉 he was brilliant and I loved his character Keith. If you haven’t seen Kingdom you’re missing out so many amazing performances especially Nick Jonas
I know him from Stingray Cast
Dude needs to play Sam Kinison.
He is going to play Chris Farley, from what I have heard.
Truly one of the greatest actors of this era
So funny in Cobra Kai and Queenpins.
What a great guest. Dude is absolutely hilarious in Cobra Kai.
Paul Walter Hauser...hilarious. Had no idea who he was.
We love paul walter hauser
I liked him in After Party season 2.
“If you think you could be in danger, you are in danger”
This dude comes.out:
Me: "Heh, hell yeah."
What a brilliant character 🤣
We love Stingray!
He was so good in Blackbird. Never saw a portrayal like that.
He was phenomenal in that

He was great in Queenpins, love that movie.
Revolver puts on AMAZING shows.
Too funny 😂
PWH is great and seeing him put over Sami and Revolver is so damn awesome.
Dude did a great job as Larry Hall
Very funny in the Afterparty
I don’t really follow movies or tv but I can appreciate anyone who digs wrestling. Props to him and Stephen for talkin about it.
that escalated quickly....
But what did he say???
My thought exactly. It set Colbert off though lol
Haha, I thought I was just my bad hearing (or not being a native English speaker).
@@LadyPelikanCut from the closed captioning, too. 🤔
He made fun of of Stephen for his „refreshendnen, refresh your mind“ by just gabbling something
I highly suggest watching Kingdom tv series! The show was great, and PWH was fantastic in it
When you know you need to dress up, but don’t know how to dress up!😂😂😂😂
Amazing acter
This is why Elmo said Hey 😊
Get that man a person who dresses him 😮
Why? Clothes don't make the man .

Can’t wait for Stephen to do Despicable Me 4 promo
Any idea where the Yankees hat is available? Thanks
to me he'll always be the Juggalo from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Good morning stephen colbert fans
Why does everyone in his family go by 3 names?
😂😂😂 very funny 👍
Stephen cringed and jumped smoothly from that: Taylor, TRUMP, Paws....comment.
Its the paul walker junior we all deserved: a stand up man who doesnt enter sexual long term relationships with unerage teens. Good going Mr wrestler
What did he say??
He's so funny and it whooshed right over the crowds head, yikes that was a terrible crowd
Never heard of this Paul Waffle Houser before, but he seems to be a fun guy.
I love him but I can only think man Keith sounds good on Late Night!
Great to see PWH get his dues!
I didn’t understand that last part. Anyone can explain?
Colbert stumbled on his words seconds before, so Paul stumbled on his words too as a way of poking fun at Colbert.
@@heyjustj thanks. one of the best interviews ever love their banter.
who looks like dirk bach from germany lel
TYSO shoutout
Paul might want to look up the injury statistics of trampolines...
Wrestling rings and trampolines are two different things.
@@jasonjimerson7046 No argument there, but claiming there's "never been back surgery from trampolines" is incorrect.
Tripp Knob!
Does this Koresh your deniten?
He's a weird mofo that's why he gets the weird roles😂😂😂
:1What did he say at 8:11?
I think it was just gibberish and he was mocking colbert for stumbling when he said "does this refresh your mind." But I had the same question
What does he say at 8:13? "Does this caress your tennaton?" This must be an inside joke.
Colbert tries to say "does this refresh your memory/mind" but trips over his own words a little, and Paul catches him and gives him a hard time, which is why they start laughing and Colbert threatens to cut him. Paul does it again by catching Stephen pronounce Demi's name wrong 😂
I just hope Jamie taco seeks the same help
