    All your videos follow the general description "Seedhi Baat, no bakwas - Clear hai". The way you explain is highly commendable, i.e., always to the point. This is one of the best channels in the MBA and professional domain, if not the best. I really don't know why people have hyped up other shit and nonsense channels.

      @@Shweta-Arora I was in this dilemma of taking a drop for CAT this year, after screwing it up this time. Being a regular student throughout my career without any breaks i was little skeptical.
      Just another question, Are there companes who release the criteria of no gap years when they come for recruitments. If yes, who are those?

    • @Shweta-Arora
      @Shweta-Arora  Год назад +5

      I haven't ever come across a recruiter at A which said no gap years allowed. In fact, some of my batchmates with gap years have made it to the best of firms, so at least I'm unaware of any such firms.

      @@satyanarayanbehera8554 Please understand that companies in general design their hiring policies based on what work and what don't work for their business interest and not necessarily they display all their hiring policies openly on their website or social media. It is almost unknown at least for me as what are those companies which have a 'NO HIRING POLICY' for 'GAP YEARS' candidate. You may be asked this 'gap years' question by the interviewer during interview and be ready for the answer you have and the truth is that this question has a lot of weightage and often determines your selection or rejection. A hiring manager will try to find out whether the applicant was casual in approach to waste the time of a year or two or s/he could not utilise this period because of lack of resources, family issues, pandemic etc. If the reason is genuine and well-received by the company you are aspiring to join for. Believe me, you will not only be appreciated but also be considered for the opportunity.🏆

E.g. the eldest person in my batch was 32 and had a PG + work-ex already. Made it to MBB (consulting) later. So age isn't a bar. Most of my batchmates were around 26/27 when they entered.

    Hi Shweta Di! Thank you for all the motivation!! Di, I left my job in July this year to prepare for CAT. But I gave up on preparation 2 months back as I was unable to solve a single question from Algebra and Geometry, which demotivated me a lot(I am a non-engineer and was studying maths after 5 years). I felt like a failure and it was hard for me to even open the quants book as I knew I won't be able to do anything. (Initially tried to complete the whole quant syllabus in 2 months as I had only 4 months for CAT and save 2 months for mocks and analysis)
    I was going to skip the CAT exam this year as I was very low on confidence. But I went there only because you keep motivating us to not give up. So, I thought I should at least go there and see it and feel what it is really like to take CAT. I went there with no expectations, I wasn't expecting that I will be able to do a single question but to my surprise, I did 4 questions in Quants and 5 in DILR, and all of them were correct, I did not use any formula because I had stopped preparing and just used common sense. (Just checked my answer key). I also did 2 sets of RC and 4 questions of VA and this is where I messed up a little bit. After taking the real CAT and scoring better than my expectations (not good enough to get i nto an IIM though) I am pretty confident that I can do much better if I prepare well without doubting myself and I also I have to manage my maths phobia.
    Di, Thank you so much for always motivating me. It means a lot to have someone like you.
    Di, I have just one last request. As you suggested to either take a job or a course. I am from mass comm background with PGD in Mass comm, will the panel judge me if I do one more course instead of taking a job or they will treat both (job or online course) similarly?
    Di, I used to work in PR and was not happy with it that's why I left my job, don't want to join the same again.

    • @Shweta-Arora
      @Shweta-Arora  Год назад +14

      I'm so glad you went and tested yourself, it will surely keep you confident throughout your preparation. Regarding your question - taking up a course just to fill up the gap will raise questions unless it's really something you wish to learn. You quit your job for a logical reason, same way your reason for doing a course should be logical. Instead, think what you're really interested in exploring, like genuinely and pursue that - could be an internship/hobby/course, it should be out of curiosity & exploration and not just to fill up the gap. Good luck! 🤞

      Very well said, same happened with me. I was very weak in maths but still I went to give my AFCAT exam for airforce and surprisingly I did 12 maths que out of 20 which was impossible to me...and as a result I cleared it. I have my AFSB on 19 June and you know what I was still thinking am I worth it or not. But now I'm damn sure that I'm...it's just my fear, past rejections which are letting me think that way. Hi Shweta. I have been following you since my CAT preparation. Your are good at English and people following you are MBA aspirants so I hope they do know English. People here are from all over India and even from other countries. If you do videos in English, it will reach everyone. Kindly take this suggestion.

      You're absolutely right, I switched to Hindi due to many reasons, the major one being my comfort level with Hindi. Will try onboarding someone for subtitles soon, it gets difficult as the only person doing it all.
