i really like how they used white voice singing technique for this song. it's a style of singing used in a lot of traditional slavic music. and the ukrainian lyrics aren't pronounced half bad either! i was a bit sceptical about misha at the beginning of the musical because i thought they'd just make him into the stereotypical foreigner comic relief character but it wasnt the case at all. i like that it touches on the problem of a lot of ukrainian (and children from the post soviet region in general) were adopted by western families only to be mistreated when they couldn't adjust to the new environment or didn't fit their expectations. it's genuinely well thought out.

It’s been two weeks (give or take) since I First watched ride the cyclone, and I’ve listened to this song like every day since. I still cry every time I hear it (even harder when watching the video to it)

Saw this show for the first time at a community theater on Sunday (an excellent production, honestly), and if there was any character who surprised me, it was Misha. Maybe I'm just a sucker for the "macho man with an extremely sensitive side" archetype, but Misha really became my favorite character in the show. The little hug with Noel after Talia was definitely one of the most poignant moments of the show for me.
I always saw the fact that he's talking about yulia in the beginning as a misdirect. Like they're trying to make us believe that his girlfriend is obviously a catfish, but then they reveal that Talia just styles her hair like her and she's actually real, but he'll never get to meet her :(

The sadness and rage in Misha's voice in that one part where her image is projected onto his chest just shows how he feels about the fact he never had the chance to meet Talia before he died.
It’s been two weeks (give or take) since I First watched ride the cyclone, and I’ve listened to this song like every day since. I still cry every time I hear it (even harder when watching the video to it)

The first phrase Mischa says is кохаю which (roughly?) translates to "my love" or simply "love".
The second is Я тебе кохаю, which translates to the more professional "I love you."

Saw this show for the first time at a community theater on Sunday (an excellent production, honestly), and if there was any character who surprised me, it was Misha. Maybe I'm just a sucker for the "macho man with an extremely sensitive side" archetype, but Misha really became my favorite character in the show. The little hug with Noel after Talia was definitely one of the most poignant moments of the show for me.
I always saw the fact that he's talking about yulia in the beginning as a misdirect.
Like they're trying to make us believe that his girlfriend is obviously a catfish, but then they reveal that Talia just styles her hair like her and she's actually real, but he'll never get to meet her :(

I really love the fact that just before the edm break at the end Mischa instead of singing words belts out emotional notes, it feels like he’s trying to say how much he loves Talia even though he can’t find the words to describe it.
