I really hope you have an archive section in the army builder to at least let people use them in friendly games. Another point is that if you are just going to cut sectorials and units completely without an archive section, what’s to stop you doing it down the line disappointing more people who maybe start a sectorial just to have it cut.
@@kingbonezai4925 proxy is fine and usually you do this to try something out but if you specifically buy a mini to be what it specifically is in game and paint an army to be a set sectorial it feels pretty bad to be told “nah doesn’t exist now” shrug. So what is a player with kamau and bagh mari going to use those models as now ? They likely already have the other models they would proxy as in the collection. The point is that people’s collections are being rendered useless. Why is the proxy argument being used as a shield to deny a simple thing like an archive section or oop section in the army builder ? Who is next to get cut to make room in the future? winterforce? Military orders ? Are we going to have to wait a few years to play them again if they do?

Because they had a full catalogue of in production models, an enthusiastic player base and a strong faction identity. Seems an obvious choice to scrap it and replace it with a brand new sectorial that no one asked for...
I forsee some of the axed models to be playable in some of the current sectorials or such. To be fair as long as other factions are getting trimmed too I think fewer units and sectorials will allow more flavor in the game other than everything being very similar to somthing else. Bias disclosure: I primarily play Military Orders but have basically all rapid reinforcement Capital army units.
Wooow. So I bought a complete Varuna Force at the beginning of the year which is rendered useless. What a slap in the face. This really makes me think about quitting for good.
As a Spiral Corps player I'm not especially happy either, BUT it looks like "Vanilla" PanO in N5 retains a lot of key pieces from Varuna: Helots, the Cutter, Zulu-Cobra, Croc Men. Availability will likely change, and the fireteams are definitely changing, but it looks like the "Varuna" playstyle is sticking around into N5. The only real sticking point is finding what to proxy your Kamau models as.u
Don't forget that this is a proxy friendly game, I know it sucks to lose a sectorial, but this isn't the only game that removes access to armies/units and those other games are NOT proxy friendly. They also said "Scheduled for a comeback" so give it some time.
thanks damn, with each video I want to play the new edition less and less, my favorite sectorials from panoc and na2 disappear, the unification of the rules of everything for everything by cutting out entire layers of rules and mechanics is not what I wanted from the new edition

Qapu Khalqi languished forgotten for years before getting new models in Reinforcements & confirmed expansion in N5. I wouldn't be surprised if we see Varuna or Acon return in the future as well. No guarantee though, we DID lose FRRM and Caledonia.
There will be a pdf with the rules for the sectorials that didn't make it into N5 (i.e. Acontecimento, Neoterra, Merovingia...). They won't be legal for tournaments, but you can play them.

I understand people are disappointed that models are getting removed. But listen every miniature game company absolutely needs to do this. Its both for the game play and for commercial reasons. It's sucks but the alternative is worse. So remember if you switch to Wyrd, GW, Warmachine or which ever, they will do the same thing it's just a matter of time.
It's funny you mention Wyrd, since they absolutely do not have this problem whatsoever Somehow Wyrd managed to avoid this entire issue, maybe CB could learn something from them 😉
Malifaux had crazy bloat problems in 2nd edition and had to completely rework how you built crews and keywords in M3E. What works for one game does not necessarily work for anotherb

Well those models might be played in alternative ways sameish as legends can be played in 40k but it is not really happening on a grand scale. Or it is as you said that Wyrd are the exception, however it seems for most companies it is not profitable or rules wise sustainable.

Carlos said all factions will have a max of 3 sectorials. Since they were adding a new one, 3 PanO sectorials had to go.

Why Cut Varuna?
They wanted to have at most 3 sectoriales per faction and Varuna was the oldest compared to winter for, kestrel and MO
