If she didn't care for her kid, why would she want the child back? Chad may have had something in his past, like an arrest maybe? It would be highly unusual for her to get custody if this was a stable loving household, with a biomom, who was some awful person, who get the child. The mom and Chad's attorney are the only ones saying terrible things about Ashley.

Why is everyone blaming the judge who gave her custody? This man beat her mother to death. Who tf thinks this is the type of person who should be raising a child? Add to it he left her with someone who was abusing her. He had the power to stop it, but didn't. This man should have never had custody of this child. She would have been better off with her mother. Now she has no parents and life long trauma. We don't know what information was given to make that decision. But it was the right choice.

The mother in law said that erika said she didn't know who the dad was of her baby because she was "DRUNK and picked up guys" then the truth came out. On trial her attorney questioned her mother in law regarding the shots as if erika blamed her confession on her getting drunk by her mother in law to get her to say something she didn't want to. I imagine it something like 'i didn't want to say that but she got me drunk and made me say that' just like she says in the recording "i did what he told me to do, to make the call and order pizza.

@@jordansmith2380plus dont forget Erica had been abusing her. And it shows they wouldnt be above lying about Ashley contacting her daughter. They spun her going into military as abandonment. Chad has proven he is vindictive when things dont go his way so Im sure Ashley deciding to come out was a blow to his ego. Courts dont just do things and not let both parties know whats happening and their chance to repsond to the petition but if you dont want to share custody & cant show cause then thats a problem.
Plus, if she had really abandoned her daughter why didnt they petition to sever her rights so Erica could adopt her? Most likely because Ashely could prove she hadnt abandoned her & been trying to either locate or contact her.
