Mario Arlati was born in Milan 1947 where he undertook his artistic training at the Castello Sforzesco art school. following on from his education, his first works were made in a purely figurative style. but in the 1970's he discovered his real oeuvre whilst living in Ibiza, the smallest of the Balearic Islands.
Since then, Mario Arlati has primarily lived and worked in Ibiza and his works bear clear witness to his artistic involvement. From figurative art he has moved on to an informal "materic" style following in the foot steps of the Spanish school. His works are a representation of the bright, sunny atmosphere of the island, of the synbiosis between man and nature, of the incessant action of the sun, the wind and the sea; all giving life to the unique objects.
