London China Town on August Bank Holiday and visit to the Food House Chinese Restaurant in Gerrard Street, London. The food in this restaurant is traditional Chinese and is as good as that I have eaten in China. Majority of the dinners are Chinese. The restaurant is situated on the left hand side as you enter the Gate from east side ( coming from the Qpark car park.

What I love most about this video is the quiet, the silence. It is an important element. Too many videos about kyudo have background music that is supposed to make you feel spiritual. But the true spiritual element is found within the silence, interrupted only by the sound of the bow snapping when the arrow is released.

Would it be cultural appropriation if u aren’t Japanese but would like to practice kyudo?
lol. American "culture".... of course not, Kyudo as a practice is trying to expand. Look for local Kyudo dojos and stop being afraid of learning other cultures' habits,, the vast majority of cultures on the planet love it when foreigners want to dive deeper! It's only in small groups of the US that that's a wrong thing! Would Chinese people be upset if you ate some Chinese food tonight? Or Brazilians be upset if you danced on their fantastic rhythms? Or the Italians if you took up painting or sculpting at home? "Cultural appropriation" is a super dangerous concept as it divides people between "us" and "them", and personally I keep my distance from people who claim/believe in that. Cheers
Cultural appropriation is when someone takes aspects of another culture and claims it as their own original product, without acknowledging their debt to others. If you are serious about kyudo you will learn from Japanese masters or from those who were taught by them. You won’t be saying, “Look, here is a new form of archery that I (or non-Japanese people) have invented”. You will always be aware of and thankful to those who have developed the art form before you, since, if this were not the case, you would never have been able to make any progress in it in the first place. So don’t worry.
