This is amazing, does the length of the tubes below the keys effect the pitch at all or is it just tuned by the length of the keys?

Thanks! Both the bars and the tubes have to be the right length. The bars set the frequency, but the tubes amplify the frequency. But only when they are the right length. Thanks for watching!

    Hi!
Congrats for the xylophone! It has a nice sound.
I'm also interested in building xylophones. I'd like to design one for a special playground. And i'd like to ask a few things.
Can you write me the measurements of the aluminium plates? (Or wich part of the video?) And the hanging points as well, please? I hope, its possible to lasercut them.
And is this tube structure under the plates is must be there? Is it possible just replacing it with a simply stand?
    Thanks in advance!

Thanks for watching! Yes I can send you more information...send me your email address because this is too much to post here. Also, the tubes are important. Watch the other videos to see how important the tubes are. They amplify the bar vibration, and without them, the volume is very low. On one of my videos, you can see how the tubes increase the volume of the bars.

Magnus, thanks for your comment. know...I hate to see when I am editing these that I missed the thing I wanted to film. I throw away a lot of video because of that, but I am trying to pay more attention and do some aiming! Thanks for watching!

Horrible camera positioning. When you're filming yourself keep thing eye high. Don't film you're self from below looks weird. Use a tripod when talking.
