    Kind Sir Mr. LiveKeyboardist I want to thank you so very much for sharing this link with me. I really do appreciate it. It is and was exactly the info I needed and was looking for. To think that all this time it was as simple as that. I already created a well needed Keys Rig that I can use and not have to worry about taking a Keyboard with me or being restricted to a particular Keyboard! Thank you so very much again Sir. I look forward to diving much more deeply into the world of Ableton and the other Software Keyboard options.

    I find the Kontakt 5 hammond organs (which are by far the most accurate to the real thing) is much better to play separately despite the instrument being 'split' in the first place. This video has helped me fix that, thanks.

    dude thanks! I've been wanting (for years) to have a way to change the split point on the fly (live onstage) and ableton doesn't have midi mappable key range. BUT it looks like the midi Pitch device DOES allow mapping. THANK YOU!!! I've put in a feature request to Ableton but.. this gets me through for now. Up until this point I had to drop two piano VST's.. one for the LH and one for RH set at different volumes. And a bass instrument in the LH with a split point that fades out gradually on the high end.. long story short.. this makes it way easier so ThANKS!

    Great video and I really enjoy your style. I'm still trying to figure out if there's a way to create a split within a single instrument, e.g. every key above G-2 plays up an octave. I have it working with two copies of the same instrument (both of your ways obviously work), but that seems overly complex. Thanks!

    Thanks for this great video !! I am trying to learn Piano and want to use my Laptop Keyboard and an external Logitech keyboard. Is it possible to split and assign the Piano keys, one part to the Laptop and the other to Logitech so as I can get to play the keys using my left and right hand combination. Thanks !

    Hello, i know also other modes: ACMP mode for playing accords for automatic style / rythm and also mixed mode - left-part instrument + ACMP = both switches on. And it really works, for example on keyboard Tyros 5. :-) Typical example: left instrument = deep distortion guitar, right side = solo guitar... and if I switch ACMP button on and play some automatic rock or other style, it plays completely, not only drum line and paralelly the tones of left side guitar. Other similar example are two various sounds of Hammond organ + automatic rythm. :-) A little problem with deep guitar on the left is that if you play only fifth, not complete accord, keyboard cannot recognize mayor and minor variation, but if you play the middle tone of the accord very shortly in the begining, then release it and hold only the fifth, it will play full accords. :-) Or you can play staccato accords like in some hard rock songs where it is not easy to recognize, whether they are fifths or full accords because its extra short staccato some times.

    you just freiraum me an idea...something i have been wanting for a while...im guessing i can place a chord generator on half the board and then scaled notes on the other side to have perfect playable chords and scales (not really perfect but you know what i mean)

      Yes absolutely! I’ve got a few seats left in my upcoming course for playing live keys that talks about approaches like this in depth. Let me know if you want to know more!

    Hey thanks I'm trying to trigger chords (using midi chord fx) on certain lower rows of push abd single notes on upper rows - so have created two instrument instances of sane piano sound but then that's limiting because I can't play lower single notes without triggering chords. I coukd easily use 2 sep midi controllers to play simultaneously with either hand but I'd like and shpuld be able to achieve everything on the push alone (I think). Do you think this is solvable? If so I'd like to hear kore re a lesson thanks

    Really great video, very succinct and to the point! How did you arm two tracks at once? It seems I can only arm one track at a time on my setup. Thanks!

      Ctrl + Click on each track you want to arm :)

    Hey, is there a way to get a Keyboard range split? I wanna play the Bassline on my small midi Keyboard so it needs to be split. Is there a way which does not need 2 copies of the same synth?

    on metode number 2, how do you set up both to red? When I click on a channel it makes it red but the others are no longer red. I'm using it with VST plugins btw, does it only work with Ableton instruments?

    • @demosongsheetmusic
      @demosongsheetmusic Год назад

      CTRL+click on one arm button (red circle) and then on the other.
      On Mac it's CMD+click.
      I think it should work with all VSTs.
