SLUK | Vespa PX Gear Selector Box repair fix mod upgrade

A ScooterLab.UK tutorial to repair a Vespa PX or large-frame gear selector box.
Why repair rather than buy new? Firstly many of the new spare parts available are rubbish, and secondly, this mod makes the box more durable than it was when it was new.
Warning: you will need access to a MIG welder and pillar drill, or someone who can do those jobs for you.

Hi great vid cheers.. my box in 3rd gear isn’t level across ? The arm sticks up above gasket face about 0.8mil . My gearbox on a new engine build is clunking when the hub is turning and trying to jump out of gear.. I was wondering if I have the wrong box for this 1983 125 engine. When the selector box is removed the knocking stops when hub is turned and all goes through the gears properly . Any suggestions or help be brilliant, thanks Paul .
