No mention of charger when ordering?
Just clicked link to order but it makes zero reference to free charger and Installation???
Agreed. No mention of charger and installation in order details. I bailed.
Did I hear you say you can get a tow bar fitted on g6 ?
I also saw no confirmation of the free charger, after ordering. I emailed xpeng au a week ago about this. Disappointingly, I haven’t had a reply yet.
Totally agree with you, sold my highland already and will be one of the first to get the g9 2024 version in France 🇫🇷 thx for your videos !
Canadian here. wish we were in Australia.
BYD is coming to Canada. Uber just ordered 100k of BYD EVs. I don't know how that works tho. like it's ok for businesses but not for individuals to buy Chinese Ev? lol. I'm in Canada as well.
There's nothing stopping you. About time we had some Anglo Saxon migrants here. Ps. Bring your friends 😊
Then what country would be between the USA and the North Pole?
For EVs yes, but our government is just as corrupt as Canada when it comes to immigration. Would much rather you come here than Chinese and Indians.
@@robertfonovic3551How do you know he she is Anglo and or Saxon?
Congratulations on the Xpeng, very wise choice, have a safe, nice driving.
Full disclosure mate, are you getting kick backs from this?
This is a brand new car to Australia, and manufacturer. One can't underestimate the risk with a new manufacturer, with parts and servicing etc etc. It takes time to build reliability in these areas, and becomes a particular problem if mass numbers are sold at the start of their journey. This is something you should definitely be talking about on your channel... When hyping up new makes and models. Love you bro
Xpeng founders and investors all experienced in the car industry. They have great service network in China. And here in Hong Kong, Xpeng cars will be serviced by BMW. For sure can't be compared to the 50-100 years old manufacturers. But they are doing good. Tech is good, craftsmanship is good, price is good... Last few months I was studying and test driving all the electric cars in HK. Chinese cars feels much better in every way compared to European or Japanese ones. So, I ordered G6 and we will see. Hopefully won't be disappointed. Fingers crossed.
With. Strong consumer friendly reputation.
I saw it at the Melbourne show and was really impressed. My family loved the colour! That is a safety feature that Tesla has ignored with cars that are more difficult to see in rain and fog. I’m am sick of manufacturers pushing out their fifty shades of grey! This has gone to the top of my list.😊
My only issue is pricing you dont get something for nothing .. My mg 4 Xpower is very fast and very cheap ( for what you get ) so i ask what compromises do you get when a Tesla model y or a zeekr that are coming in at 10 to 20k more than the xpeng !!.
Im not saying the car is bad but like my X power there are compromises that have been made to keep the cost down ..
food for thought !!
After seeing that the Electric Viking has ordered one; and having seen various other reviews; and test driving the G6 myself - I have ordered one (I was considering the Juniper having already test driven the Highland and MY)
For those who are interested, G6 uses SACHS suspension so the firm-ish ride will be similar to Audi/BMW according to the salesman
You're moving the dial Sammy! 😊.Good honest news will win 🏆 out in the end! Go champion!
I just ordered G6 Standard Range RWD in Hong Kong (USD 37K). Silver Frost with White seats
Delivery in mid-Dec
@@robocop581 I also ordered standard range. White + white interior. I think we will see a lot of Xpeng on the HK streets.
Oh no, Xpeng subsidizing Australian consumers. It must be very tough to have so many choices of EVs.
Hahahaha.... you are blessed if you live in Australia.
It is not Xpeng or others being subsidized. It is actually buyers of Chinese EVs who are being subsidized.
@@eugenec7130 So true. In my country the buyer gets the subsidy (5000 Euro), not the manufacturers.
Atto 3 has a guitar built into the doors. Plus multicoloured disco lights.Say what you will, but it’s not dull 😂
Xpeng has the closest rival to Tesla’s software tech, better than Zeeker and the rest. Though be aware that it’s still not going to be FSD compliant so if you believe that the FSD is going to become unassisted within the next couple of years then you’re better off to stick with a model Y.
I haven’t as yet tested the G6, tested a G9 last year. Felt just as good if not even better and more luxurious than my previous BMW X5. What I didn’t like was the single pedal function that wasn’t nearly as natural feeling as the Tesla. The same was true re single pedal driving with the Zeeker model X which was either too little or too heavy braking in its 2 settings. Never fiddled around with the G9 to see if it had different settings which possibly might have made a great difference. The Tesla model Y just took one traffic light and I felt comfortable to rely on its single pedal function.
Nice overview of the G6. (One suggestion is to have your camera person move and zoom in on what you are pointing out. For example, when you pointed out the instrument cluster, why not have the camera person move in close and show the instrument cluster?) Sam, you provide good EV news and info as usual!
Oh god no. Spare me zoom ins. I stopped watching mentour pilot after the idiotic zoom ins on every 4th syllable
Very good choice, Sam!
May it serve your fam a lot.
Thank you!
@@electricviking*👍 Really nice review. You have really stepped up your game with quality review like this.*
I hope you hold onto this car longer than the last EV you bought!
Seeing this on the road every day here in China, it looks a bit weird from the back. The current model Y looks old compared to this one however. You get free City and High Speed ADAS here, however there are some reports that high speed ADAS has to be well supervised and some crashes occurred especially on highway auto exiting. But the drivers were supervising their phones, not the car, which is not recommended. I'll try this one next week, I tried P7 a few years back and it was a rather good experience, good seats, comfortable ride. Xpeng cars seem to retain their used value as well as Tesla in China, whereas other EV brands basically depreciate really fast. But keep in mind that Xpeng does not have the market penetration of BYD or Tesla, so service might be less ideal until they build up.
I just saw a review from Sweden and the guy was saying this car is over 60,000 euros all-wheel model
Looks like Australia will get it far cheaper less than half price
over 60,000 euros maybe is the G9 model.
Or taxes ?
I am so jealous you Australians can get G6. I am increasing my position on Xpeng.
Is their economy thriving and are the fundamentals there? Or are you just buying a dream?
Be careful. Lot’s of people have lost lots of money on Xpeng. Designing interesting cars is not as hard as producing them competitively.
@@Harrythehun Whose economy - Aussie's or the Chinese? If the latter, you should be asking more about their household savings. Dream - try asking VW if they're buying into one too.
@@keithv3767 Good point. That said, I can't see where else in the world EVs can be produced more competitively than in China. Xpeng is one of a handful of Chinese EVs who've survived (considering the brutal competition, one may even argue "thrived") the frenzied feeding among almost 140 Chinese EV makers in the domestic market. Those who've cashed out on Xpeng and sustained a loss I'd hazard a guess were more traders (uninformed ones or non-pros) than investors or otherwise not playing with spare cash and certainly didn't inform themselves to the level of investment conviction that they should have. Xpeng have now got a captive client in the VW group as well so it could be argued that helps solidify a floor on their stock's valuation. Hovering around the profit breakeven point (which is where Xpeng is now) often feels like the darkest hour before dawn. BYD had a very long darkest hour but that was because BYD inadvertently became the defacto incubator of the EV market, shouldering the market's long gestation period almost single-handedly for the entire period until Elon joined the fray and shared the load - so they're (together with Buffet) gloating now as they deserve to be.
under 7$ you can't lose.
Awesome! I just ordered 3 G6s with your referral link as well. Can’t wait for delivery day!
Why only 3!!!!!
@@lumtavon1952 coz it sounds more believable.
Xpeng and its subbrand Mona are looking really hell good! I would pick G6 as well. Not sure when available in Europe.
Xpeng is already available in several EU countries. I have been a Xpeng G9 owner for almost a year now. I'm following the launch of G6 with great interest, delivery started in EU 2-3 weeks ago

*Great review.*
We’re getting the XPeng G6 in the UK later this year. I got to see it at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Same, there was a G9 in the car park as well, which was so nice! (Went on the Thursday)
@@Leonfr_2022 One of my IG followers saw the G9 at the Goodwood car park with Dutch plates.
I only saw it twice in Italy (one on Dutch plates and one on Danish plates). Though i heard XPeng is planning on a launch to Italy, but I don’t know what models they’ll be getting).
@@DaveDVideoMakerit’s starting now in Italy and Spain, I believe you’ll see them very soon nearby distributed by existing car dealers, in France it’s mainly Mercedes or Mazda, Suzuki etc car dealers for example.

Loving the channel and excited to see the G6. Keen to buy one. Did you see Bjørn Nyland;s review. He was not happy with the highway/cruise. Felt it overdid steering corrections and slowed down on every minor bend. Hoping this is fixed with software when they release here.
didnt notice the cars because I was distractrd by those biceps.
I have an Xpeng G6 Standard Range on order, delivery expected in December, but certainly not on Sam's recommendation. There are many reviewers of better credentials out there.
Ordering is risk-free, and I expect to have time to see how Xpeng is doing as a viable company.
Now I have to test drive one of these! Time to go to the X Peng dealer.
Easy to get excited by something new but from my experiences things have to be proven first .
surprisingly everyone is ordering the standard range variant. usually people just get the higher range model
Both Zeekr and Xpeng styling are great without the quirkiness of the Japanese or Korea brands..they give you the full styling without cutting back on certain area!
Charging speeds at Australian average charging station is what matters not charging speeds at charges we don't have now or in the near future
Of course it matters what the charging speed is. The faster the better, eventually the infrastructure will catch up.
We are launching the vehicle in Nepal this week. So excited ❤
Great 👍
Legit question. Do you receive any reward, discount or any other incentive for recommending or promoting this or any other products like the solar system you have previously mentioned
I hope you give us a long ,good and honest review of the car.
Overall though, this particular ‘push’ seems to be about i) range and ii) auto-pilot. Personally, I want a lot more out of a relatively expensive /luxury car, EV or otherwise. Fit, finish, internal design & materials, drive-ability, steering, suspension etc etc. In short, no money down on virtual web-site & I’d really want to be driving the car first. Then of course there’s also the matter of dealer and service centres, warranty details, availability of parts. A bit of a ways to go yet, maybe in 12 months time. Ditto the Zeekr for that matter.
It's a beautiful machine! We are excited to get the delivery of our demonstrator model in Perth very soon!
Hi Sam, just placed an order using your link but no mention of the charger...
"A Darker Shade of Grey", is an excellent alternative description of the classic "A Whiter Shale of Pale" 😄😄😄
Love your videos. Thanks and Cheers..
Free charger and installation? Of course, not available in the USA. Just like warranty competition, we will see all EV automakers pack in more value. Did you pick orange for your G6?
Tesla 3 and GWM Ora driver here. Would love to add the Xpeng to the two.
I drove the G6 recently in Norway, and it was an ok car. I own Tesla Y Performance now, but have owned the new Xpeng P7. However, I had a lot of problems with the pedals, especially gaspedal, which felt loose and made lots of noises..They were changed, but same problem again 2 months later, so I ended up getting money back cause they could not fix. G6 is nice, but for me theres something "off" in the design. I do think, not because I own Y now, but the Y felt much better in the handling, everything was just smoother. With Tesla you also get Sentry mode, which is a good reason in itself to own a Tesla. The sound is also alot better in the Tesla, and the new M3 Highlander is even better than my Y soundwise. But congrats, hope you will be happy with the G6. Me, I dont wanna buy Xpeng again. The new Y Juniper when it arrives will blow peoples mind I think, it will obliterate most of the so called " Tesla killers" by far and will probably better itself in all areas compared to the current Y
If cars can park themselves we can park them much closer to one another. There could be special parking areas for such cars which could lead to smaller parking lots. Which could mean more green spaces.
The first batch of 500 orders in HK sold out quickly. Shipment will be in October. My G6 will be in the second batch in November.
Congratulations, you know the business of the BEV and PHEV than anybody else.
What SAM doesn't know is all Aussia eV's are charged by dirty electricity unless charged by private some solar.

Electric Viking is going hard-core on Chinese EVs
I did visit the showroom in Sydney Lorbek Showroom, it looks amazing
Nice purchase 👌
I’ve checked all your videos on this particular car and you haven’t really touched on the battery chemistry.. I would have thought you would have gone with an LFP battery instead of outdated NMC? It’d be awesome if you could talk more about the chemistry of the NMC, I can’t find any info if they have made these as safe as LFP?
Amazing car. Way better interior and tech than Tesla and it also doesn’t smell like Musk which is a huge plus as well.
Lol 😅
Great video as always!
Ps The audio is panned all the way left on the G6 video, something to look out for!

I got near 600km 2 days ago that on a 90% charge, I had 20 somthing km left, I got the long range rear wheel drive one. surprised, when I bought it in winter it got around 530km full charge, when spring came it goes to 600 plus. real range if charge to 100% and drive to 1% can get 650km real range. I think its one of the longest range EVs available. and it gets 11-12kwh/100km on my G6, like it cause only charge once every 8-9days and cheap.
Thanks for that information! That's reassuring. In fact amazing. Are you here in Australia?
Tiny differences to the Model Y but FSD is the game changer for the future.
It’s always been 2 years away since 2016 according to Elon
Sure, it's a good value if you ignore FSD, which is impossible to do. Tesla is still the winner in all models, all fronts.
I also like the dash and steering wheel. I agree the all white seats are not practical and don't appeal to me. I would rather the front seats were mostly the gray with small touches of white /off white.
Xpeng is my favorite car company. But I am in the states so I can't buy one. We have 100% tariffs to protect our over paid union workers and bad car US company management. So for now I just refuse to buy an inferior car and just stick with my old car.
Buy their stocks instead
Environmentally sound - if your current car is running without mechanical issue. I only changed to an EV after a change in company policy removed my lease vehicle- so now needed my own transport - found an EV which fit my use case for advance technology, comfort, moderate performance, practicality and catered to my aesthetic taste- Genesis GV60 Premium. I been running that 2 years now and am delighted.
...not yet. Don't worry. When China increases prices for goods the US needs and cannot get anywhere else these import tarufs will go to 0%..because otherwise Chiba will increase the prices so much that it will be able to take a part of the money to reduce car prices to $5k...so they will cost $10k for you.
The US government is fooling its cituzens by pretending there are no crucial goods abd resources it cannot get anywhere else but from China...and if China increases the price for those - let's say - 2/10 times or more...then it will be very easy to export BEVs at very very low prices.
Buy a TESLA.
@@howardlee7364 I do have Xpeng stock because I love their cars and technology. Yes, buy stocks instead of over priced and inferior cars.
0:25 not sure where this pricing is coming from The Electric Viking is just making things up - everywhere else is saying the base G6 will be more expensive than the base Model Y and the Long Range will be closer to $A70k before on road costs not $60k - Xpeng themselves have said they are categorically not getting into a price war with Tesla in Australia.
You can almost guarantee they are looking at the order book before deciding on the final price - I seriously doubt the $A60k mark for the long range is correct, I think they would have published that to try to steal some potential Tesla Model Y orders if that was the case. $67k-$69k before on road costs seems about right for Australia.
I think the G6 will start from just under 60K, probably 10k more for the long range. Still good value.
From outside Tesla Y looks better from inside Xpeng is better, lets see the what's price going to be...
It’s reported that they had 10,000 orders in just 10 minutes lol. Looks like XPeng got a winner.
I used the link in the description but it just sent me direct to their website with no mention of charger/installation. I have pre ordered, but how do i recoup the offer?
The times have changed and these are different times, but many are still in denial and liiving in the past. The world we knew has changed and it will never be the same again.
When is this coming to New Zealand are you buying direct or through a dealer
I often compare Chinese cars to Tesla in the same way we compare Chinese Android phones to the iPhone. While Chinese cars and phones may come with many features, including the latest ones, they often become obsolete after a few years. In contrast, the iPhone tends to remain reliable and relevant for many years. I feel the same way about Tesla-its vehicles seem to maintain their value and performance over time.
Sam , I enjoyed this video even though you’re not a car reviewer per se. However , it may be a good idea to do some more detailed reviews from time to time for these new impressive EVs . I found this one a little rushed .
I have a Chevrolet Equinox EV. 2RS. Love it. You should review it. 10 grand cdn cheaper and better range than a model Y.
I am waiting for the G9 !!!!!
Range: The US Dept of Transportation says the average driver in the USA drives 39 mile per day.
I wish this car was available in the USA.
Xpeng is awesome !
Fantastic. What is needed next is a movement to invest in high speed charging infrastructure i.e. 350Kwh to 450Kwh, so that Australia enjoys the best of EV technology. Maybe Charge Point can be persuaded to do it? At this rate, in Australia most people transportation will be fossil fuel free.
kW not kWh.
Safety scores?
Longevity?
i drive tesla 4 years old 120000 km/ no single problem! i think you made a mistake/ the difference is the uncredible software. getting better even in europe.
Ordered Xpeng G6 long ago but any idea when will be delivered, please?
...now the mg4 got big sales promotion, so should I cancel the xpeng just go for MG bargains?❤
I also like this car very much
What a vehicle, I love it, but Sri Lanka prices are damn high.
I dont understand why you say electric sedans have saturated the market when all you see is SUVs?
I only know of the Seal and Model 3 as sedans
The juniper is taking too long and now seeing the spy shots I'm not sure i like the rear light bar . But im excited about the Avatr 11 with 600km range and can do 0-100 in 3.9secs👀
Love Avatar and Deepal too
Why do you want to accelerate that quickly?
No rush people, let it be released, wait for a year, find out the problems and then buy when they start discounting it
For you, this must have been very hard that this car is really better than Tesla. From this forward, you can more easily say in future that something is really much better than plastic/cheap interior Tesla :)
A bit too fast considering juniper is around the corner imo
Can I ask a simple question as I am pondering G6. On a hot sunny day, supposing I am resting in a stationary EV with aircon on say for an hour, does it consume a lot of electricity and will it overheat the battery?
No and No.
Biggest selling point for me is that it doesn't have anything to do with Elon Musk.
Which battery will mount?
In the USA, it’s the poor charging networks outside of Tesla that hinders going non Tesla… 😢
tesla doesn’t have many chargers - I’m in Brooklyn & my neighbor can’t find places to charge that don’t take a 30 minutes wait due to so many people needing the few we have
we spent billions to get thousands of EV chargers- we built 8 so far - the US sucks at business we only care about looting from the idiots paying all the bills -
Hi,
Xpeng doesn't have their finance I really like this car if they dont have any finance at all where do you recommend it
Detailing interior is insane for white, black or dark brown leather are low maintenance ?
Really Sam? range in real life with modern EV's is not an issue. How often will a family with kids drive 500kms without stopping? think about it. In the vast majority of useage, EV's are charged at home overnight so charge speed & range are just media hype. The look is quite boring from the outside but yeah inside it looks good
G6 is okay, but I wanted to see how G9 looks like...I'll wait😅
I’m very interested however it still needs the full self drive option plus does it meet the top ANCAP rating.
Sam do you know who will be the service agent in Aus?
Charging speed requires a charger that can deliver that output . So, how many chargers does Xpeng have in Australia?
Zilc. I stick with TESLA . I’m going to get FSD on my five year of M3 and put on robotaxi when the government approves it in Australia. Some extra cash .😊
None😮
The better question to ask is "How many chargers will Xpeng have?" There are probably no chargers capable of the maximum Xpeng can do because no other vehicles charge at Xpeng's speed in Australia. Yet.
@@raymondschembri5042How much extra do you need to pay for that? Is it about AU$10 000?
@@Fomites That’s not a lot of money and I can claim it as a tax deduction. My car now is only worth about 30000 to 35000$ so it won’t matter.
Well! Nice I would say. With the smaller screen you say but didn't seem to show, is good also. Just wonder if you can fold or slide away the big screen in the centre and drive it as an ordinary car ? I though I saw a video say $US1600 for this base model G6 and can't understand how this will wind up being $AU53K here. Sounds as though someone is going to do well selling this vehicle. I love the look on the car and all that it features. But what realy scare me is the electric doorlatches. i would never rely 100% on a button to get me out of the car. I still havent seen any emergency door opening option on this car. What do you do if the car is dead on the road. or if you get in an accident and the buttons dont work? I wouldnt be worried if there is a easy to access emergency mechanical doorlatch from the inside.
Each front door has a mechanical latch to open the door if there is an electric failure.
@@nilsfinken i Tried to look for it when they had it in the showroom in my town, i am probably blind since i couldnt see it. When i asked the Sales representative for xpeng he didnt have a clue if there is such a mechanical doorlatch.
it would to be good to compare the G6 to the Juniper when it eventually comes out.
