  • In this video Corin works on a Japanese Maple, that had been left to extend for many years. By trimming it back in Early Spring to gain better and more compact structure. Once the tree has been pruned he then repots the tree to complete the image.

    I wasn't a fan till you said towards the end about the 3 trunks not being straight, not flat, but more in a 3 dimensional fashion. SOOO glad you made that point! To many people place their multi-trunk bonsai in a flat plane and it dulls the composition.

    Interesting and instructive and I guess, you earn more abonnees. Given time, that number will rise: I have no doubts about that. However, not many of us, bonsaï enthusiasts, do have this kind of (very) valuable trees (or many relatively large Japanese maples to make a forest and so on) and I noticed that quite a lot of people watched your last video about "How to style a Juniper bonsaï"... Just my thoughts... Good luck and keep up the good work!

    Hi Corin, I like your channel more and more because of the valuable content. Great work! A question: you always tie in the tree after adding soil. This is different from what most other people seem to do. What is the reason that you do it this way? I'm just curious, thanks.

    • @greenwoodbonsaistudio

    I can’t help to notice, you don’t sieve the akadama? Isn’t it that so important after all, or perhaps you just don’t use the powder part on the bottom of the bag?

    • @greenwoodbonsaistudio
      @greenwoodbonsaistudio  3 года назад +3

      I'd have to work night shift with the amount we use, if I had to sieve it all. First watering most dust washes through. Also we use decent quality akadama, so not as much dust.
