  • For sale is a very rare 1986 Mazda 626 GT Turbo Coupe SURVIVOR with a 5 speed manual transmission! This is a clean title vehicle that shows zero accidents or damage via Carfax and only 50k miles! This car was bought new in Hutchinson Kansas and spent its entire life there with its first owner till early 2023. It is in excellent condition inside and out and still wears its original paint. The interior is like new! It runs and drives perfectly and everything works as it should including cold AC with the oscillating center vents. It has its super cool original radio with cassette and a 9 band EQ. The original speakers were deteriorated so we had them replaced with Alpine speakers. It sounds great! This car has some very cool and advanced features for its time. It has electronic adjustable suspension that still works perfectly! Power windows, mirrors, moon roof, AND power pop out rear 1/4 windows. Cruise control works perfectly. Tires are new and fresh fluids mean this car is ready to drive. Be sure to take this to the next RADWOOD event or be the only one at your local Cars and Coffee. These were rare in this spec back in the day and a true Unicorn today in this condition and mileage. There is no rust on this car. What a rare find! There is a funny story about some states in the NE using these as Highway Patrol cars because they were very fast in their day. Be sure to Google this story and look at the pics. Stop by and check it out for yourself! Thanks for looking! VIN# JM1GC3139G1806391

Beautiful car. When I was studying at the university in 1997, one of my fellow students had 1986 Mazda 626 Coupe 2.2, he bought it in Germany and drove it to Belarus. I remember how comfortable it was to sit in it, and all these seat settings. I am 190 cm tall, but even in the back it was quite comfortable to sit. One day this guy took his car to the car wash in winter and then left it on the street for the few hours in the cold , and in the evening after lectures it turned out that the lock on the door was frozen. The employees apparently did not use the blow dryer to dry the lock and there was water left there. And there was no lock on the second door, just a plug, and for half an hour we didn’t know how to open the car. Finally we found a telephone booth, and he called home and in a frightened voice said: “Dad, I can’t open the car, the lock is frozen...”, and his father said briefly: “Take a lighter or matches, heat the key on the fire for a few seconds , and immediately put it in the lock." :D We saw some guy smoking in a parked car and borrowed matches from him, and did as we were advised, and the lock immediately opened. In the early 2000s, my mom had a 5-door 1998 Mazda 626 , I really loved this car.

had this exact car w/o the turbo. most fun car i had. it got rear-ended and totaled and i used the money to buy a mustang but it wasn't nearly as fun. the mazda was as easy to work on as it gets too

Neither you nor the wizard explained that $13,000 is a different amount in today’s money.

This was my very first car. not a gt tho. It was an automatic. I paid 645.00 in 1992. It had 110k on the clock. I drove it til about 180k(throttle kept sticking) it also blew the prettiest blue white smoke in the winter. 😅. I then traded it for an 87 accord lxi.😢 I digress. The outside was faded but decent. However, the inside was a pristine blue. I loved that car. I drove it everywhere.... college days.

This is an awesome car! I’ve owned one for over 15 years and mines got a whole bunch done to it now. This is the small body 626,from the 323 626 929 line up,this style 626 disappeared when the mx6 was built. So cool to see it so mint and original! Lol,the 323 GTX in the same year is also amazing,at one point I wanted to swap the awd from the 323 into my 626 but she’s still FWD. love it! Nice car for sure!

OUr family had 1985 Mazda 626 Touring Sedan. I loved the car but the problem was in my city we used to have annual emissions test and it would fail every year. I had to spend $1K every year just to get a conditional pass. For whatever reason, it had phantom issues that would cause car to stall out so had to get ride of it after 14 years. Good memories though.

I had an '86 GT 2 Door and an '87 GT 5 Door. Best 2 cars I ever owned. Mine had digital dashes. 2 issues with these cars are. 1) the heater valve is located inside the car and when they leak it's a dash out heater core replacement as it is part of the heater core. 2) The bodies on these cars show very little rust but there is a hidden bad spot. The rear strut towers, both sides. Water gets behind the seam sealer and rots the tower in half. Only way to see it is take the wheels off or better yet remove the fabric covered panels in the trunk. You will see a lot of rust.

Vango did a GREAT job, shining like a brand new car !!!

  • @djkenny1202

Loved our 86 touring sedan. The goofy digital dash was always “off”, but handsome car to look at. Good handling. A 5 speed manual. But a dog, pretty slow. Turbo offered following year and fuel injection alone might have helped. A low cost one of these would be neat.

  • @cosminstroia3379

Awesome car and very fast. Had one with the same engine, and with the electronically controlled suspension, A/C etc … it was way ahead of the competition… people used to stop me at the lights and ask me : mate what engine is this? 3 litres? Is so fast:))

In the early 90's i found and bought a silver 1987 (same body style as this) 626 GT 5 speed manual 4 door sedan. I never knew how rare they were but it was a lot of fun to drive. Seeing yours really brought back good memories. Beautiful car!

  • @mikemoxley9477

Yes, the purchase video with very nice couple.

A lovely car for some lucky future owner. I just want to curl-up in those velour seats. And that engine-bay... I'm selling it to myself here!
