I don’t know who the last tenants were. Anyway, this is the 1st of your work I think I have seen but I promise I will be looking forward to finding a lot more. I am very impressed by your work and attention to detail. I also love the way you boarded up the couple windows. May I ask, how long have you been Decorating Cakes? I would think quite a long time. I have been doing cakes full time for four years, but have been baking and doing art, decorating cakes etc for much longer. I think there were probably some pretty cute characters living there before, so I think you will be just fine!
Make a lot of extra cakes because I made what the directions said and the house was wayyyy too short. I made a cake with THREE cakes for the bottom tier and it still looked squatty. I had to make to make two extra cakes just for the bottom tier alone, then add another cake to the top part to the get the same height. I'm not sure how this baker said she made this cake with the amount of cakes she did and still get it to look so tall!
Hi Diane, I'm so sorry to hear it didn't work out so well and you had to bake extra cake. Thats always the worst once you've got started decorating. My tiers are usually 4"-5" in height. I did do a bit of cutting up of the tiers, but I may have had two 4" tiers for the top. I hope it turned out great aside from that. All the best! Kylie
