Actually no, what I just said is a route in which you side with line Ark being paired with White Glint against OTSD- whatever his name was and CUBE, although White Glint was destroyed, Anatolia's Mercenary was said to be alive so it's all good. BUT if you choose to side with the league then that's a whole different ball game and White Glint had to turn beast mode after being screwed up so badly by You and ODSTARVA.

They take the name of the friend who was coerced into attacking their home by corporate interests, and makes it a name that struck fear in the League. May Anatolia's Mercenary be remembered amongst those they fought to protect. Also, I love how so many people (myself included) mistook Fiona as the actual pilot. Though to be fair, it would have been interesting to know how Fiona would have fared as a Lynx.

She probably would suck as a next pilot. It’s said that AMS capability is a huge part of being a successful next pilot or else you fight like that one guy from the mission where Kasumi disses his piloting when facing against strayed.
I don't think her dad will let her considering that the prototypes that he made destroyed their pilots, which is why only Lynx grade pilots can pilot them. A lot of Ravens weren't able to become Lynx and those who can were called Originals (namely because they fought in the Dismantling War). Strayed can be considered to be one, if he isn't THE Joshua (low chance that he's alive but that would explain Strayed's origins and how he is mute and why he went for genocide).
interesting to think that the protagonist of 4's main motivation to fight is to preserve his home Anatolia, and Line Ark later, while the protagonist of 4Answer is canonically called Strayed (a dog without a home basically) . Coupled with the fact that Strayed's main theme song is Scorcher, and that AC4's protagonist has Thinker as his main theme song and canon AC name; it's likely that FROM intended protagonist of AC4 to be this calm, wise protector while intending the protagonist of AC4A to be this uncontrollable violent destroyer (which....actually happens in one of the endings)
Dichotomy. I always see the Strayed as Joshua surviving the fight with the Merc. Miyazaki is a big fan of Berserk and we can see this with Joshua. White Glint (Griffifth) and ARETHA-00 (Femto). This fits Strayed considering that he's strayed to his ideals and destroys the world to make it into a better one. The reverse of this is Ostdarva to Thermidor (lap dog of the destroyer of the world to the liberator of the world). White Glint (Merc) just wanted to be left alone with his girl similar to Guts and Casca.
The legendary WHITE GLINT. As a colossal fan of armored core, i really appreciate the legend of White Glint since playing armored core 4 as Anatolia's Mercenary. I love to team up with White Glint and carry on the legacy with a more retro-fitted White Glint to be one very speedy machine! The legend of White Glint lives on!!!!!
I loved refitting the white glint with both the most energy efficient thrusters and most powerful reactor and flying around with the overed for stupidly long periods of time.

Can't help but notice how much the fate of White Glint and the Anatolian Mercenary has in common with the Freedom Gundam and Kira Yamato lol. Glad to know the lore has Line Ark surviving on the side lines. It would've been cool to do more missions for their faction.
I would make a joke about plot armour here but we all know anime loves its plot armour. Yes the links are there between the fates of the two only less princesses and shouting. Still i jest it would have been cool to have more link ark missions maybe a link ark ending too.
This is one of those channels, like the Diablo 2 players who made content before the remaster, and old WoW streamers who got huge after remastered/classic/return genre games came out and they already had years of content to look at and were ahead. White Glint, the “Gundam” of Armored Core. A personal favorite armored core of mine that I adored the most. I found you in my recommendations and immediately subscribed. You do a fantastic job with the lore, and I’m very happy and proud. Can’t wait for when Fires of Rubicon comes out. I’m so excited! Babe wake up armored core lore just dropped. No but for real something about liona still being alive and line ark regrowing after orca was announced makes me feel good. Also white glint 2 in comparison to JOB white glint is a crazy improvement so it’d be interesting to see what white glint 3.0 would look like Edit: anyone know what happened to Anatolia’s merc between AC4 and 4A? If liona and kasumi stayed alive then what happened?
Fiona is still alive, she’s managing line Ark and getting them properly prepared with the League being distracted by ORCA. As for Kasumi, probably still alive smashing strayed
Well there is no evidence at this point. But if I had to speculate here, Kasumi retires from being a next pilot some time after the Lynx war when the corporation she worked for merged to for interior union allowing her to do so during this process. After some time either low on cash or missing the mercenary life she finds work as an operator either for the league or collard now the under name Serene Haze which is how she and strayed meet. As for the hero of the lynx war and Fiona it possible that during their time away they formed link ark. It never stated in game but Fiona seems to be the one doing a lot of the talking for Line ark and there is nothing to say she is not part of the line ark leadership team, who with the hero rallied some people of earth together or aided someone like an old government minster to form link ark. Still its that missing bit of history that keeps me wanting to look more at the AC lore.

I have the kotobukiya model kit (with vob) of the FA whiteglint. It is a gorgeous craft and I love using it during my run throughs of ACFA. Arguably the most iconic and popular design, even more sore than nine balls iterations. I also love how it continued the Anatolia Mercs legacy, was a bit heart wrenching to either fight or fight beside what was effectively yourself from the past, almost like fighting or allying your past ghost
You know, something to consider is that in terms of both design, weapons and playstyle, the White Glint in 4A seems to be paying tribute to Berlioz. Similar weapons layout, design is very similar to essentially a more proportional Aaliyah, and it focuses on the same dodging/mid range combat. I think that in a way this could be Anatolia's Merch paying tribute not only to his friend, but the fallen Lynxs of the Lynx war. At the very least showing respect to Berlioz (which acknowledges the respect that Berlioz gave AM when they fought)
Although I love how white link looked it was not my kind of a mech. I need something capable of packing more guns. So I made a modified mid weight mech with surprisingly high speed combined with assault armour. It couldn't keep itself in the air for long but the recharge time surely fixed the issue.
Fun fact about WG mk1. The MR-R102 and EC-0300 have the highest total damage output in their class of weapons. When I first unlocked the ability to build it, I dug into the build to help develope my own lightweight\hyper build. That lead to me creating Pixy, then later my 4400kmh build Sonic Boom
Miyazaki really do love balancing out both sides. We have GA and Omer dividing the world in half. You got Akavit and Rayleonard basically being the kings of enterprise to which all of the other companies ganged up on. Aspina and Anatolia were independent due to their legendary pilots. Omer made Joshua use ARETHA, basically the father of all NEXTs designed by Dr Jarnefeldt of Anatolia, the creator of NEXTs.
I'm not sure there was ever any official answer as to whether White Glint's *pilot* was ever killed in the Japanese source material. AC has that early translation weirdness some of the time in addition to FROM loving to keep things vague.
It is a very fromsoft thing to do. I guess it depends on what sources we take, as the book armored core a new order for nexts hints that line ark has a lynx, but lacks a next for them which is speculated this could be white glints pilot. The game hints could be taken as he was killed in action or is alive however his next is done for as such he is powerless without it therefore line ark is finished.

White Glint (FA version) was heavily modified and appeared in ACVD (N/WGIX) shows both were very well designed craft, I don’t know much on 9ball but white glint made the corporate entities pause in fear.
One point of critique: I'm pretty sure the back-mounted spread missile launchers on White Glint are actually exceptionally good missile weapons. I played the shit out of AC4A back in the day, and those missile launchers would consistently hit hard against almost all targets, while also having a higher chance to at least partially hit enemy NEXTs than other spread missiles. Their overall damage output is quite high, making them very useful against durable targets as well (like Arms Forts, warships, etc.). In that sense, they make up for White Glint's lack of a laser blade, by being an easy option for high damage output on a big target that can't evade well.
That's fair, i can only really give my opinion on the weapon during my time with them and i know others have experimented a lot more with them. So let me thank you for sharing your thoughts on this subject.
I don't care what FromSoft says, I don't care what the games say, and I don't care what the lore man says. The only reality I will acknowledge is the reality that says this; Fiona and Her Mercenary bought a Cloud Arc and lived the rest of their lives free in the clouds of Venus.
Awesome video, thanks a lot. Can you do a video about The Fundation, the Towers and the NEXT from Armored Core Verdict Day, I saw in some vids that the Final boss from VD is a very modified version of th White Glint and the Arthea-00, and the pilot is a clone of the first White Glint pilot.
There's a second version of white glint called nwgix/v in armored core verdict day used by the foundation and reaper squad leader which is the final boss of the game
If we are talking about N-WGIX/v, the craft shares similar designs of white Glint along with other nexts like the Type Lahire and 063AN. I don't think N-WGIX is White Glint, i think its a mash up of parts the foundation managed to recover or study and made into what they believed to be an unbeatable machine of war.
A DLC idea I once had was a new campaign for 4A where you play as Anatolia’s mercenary post the attack of strayed and Ostrava, having to slowly claw back yourself after your legendary NEXT was sunk into the abyss. Start with a pathetic excuse for a NEXT, super inflated store prices (you have to buy on the black market) and ultra hard missions as you work to rebuild the legend you lost. Bonus points for Fiona coming back to support you.

After I killed White glint... I built his AC n made it all black out with dual MG and dual laser swords to drop the MG and went full melee n went after the Craddles... n got SS rank

There's also the 3rd White Glint piloted by "J" in AC Verdict Day as the final boss which ties an interesting bow on the story and also solidifies that obviously IV and V take place in the same universe and for my money makes me suspect that VI will be a continuation of this timeline but also try to meld the AC2 space/planet colonization with this universe. I just want it on paper somewhere that I think VI will be like AC 2 on mars but with primal armor and its repercussions and the lore of IV and V. Also the lessons they learned from dark souls is that you'll be able to click a stick and lock onto something to at least keep your camera planted before it darts off. that would've been a good addition to any of these games.
So i never played armored core (something i regret). VI will be my jumping on point. That said i love the look of the second white glint so seeeing its history is very helpful so thanks for that. Hope it can be recreated in VI

Depending on what regulation you play, it affects the load capacities. I noticed a couple of schematics from your videos come overweight. Could be because they were designed for the first regulation.
LOL I crack every time you try yo pronounce names and get them wrong, like pronouncing ALIYA as "ALLAH" or RayLeonard as "Rayleeoh-nard". Thanks for all the lore videos too! They are great at explaining the dense stuff.
Looks like WG has a spiritual successor in AC6 in the form of the original holder of the callsign Raven , their low rank belies their real strength and all that jazz

Me too, i love the lore but i could use practise. Still i know BusterTBM managed to do it in Armored core last raven, hellhound13th managed to do it in AC1 and in FA very much so with both white glints.
god fourth gen is just so cool. I wish I was good enough at it to really stick with it but I'm sure it'll stick one of these times that I replay it. and it's funny because i consider myself to be pretty good at the oldgens. it's cool how much it changed for the better and faster with 4th
A note about the Saline05 spread missiles. IIRC they were much more accurate than normal spread missiles. I think it's true for the default regulations; I don't know if holds true for all of regulations.
Yes AC6 does seem a little lost. But i would always recommend anyone to play the older games, they offer something many games at the time and dare i say now don't offer. Plus they are still fun to play and from a lore point its neat to see how fromsoftware kept close to thier corporation ruled world idea with each series.
You are correct, the player is the mercenary in AC4 who becomes White Glint which is why he can't speak and Fiona does the talking for him. However for lore purposes the player character is given a name like for AC4 it is Anatolia's Mercenary while in ACFA the player is known as Strayed.
It certainly would be interesting to watch from a point of clone vs humans and if the tactics of pilots changed over time. Plus the famous white glint vs black glint battle is a dream battle. But i think we also have to take into account that Joshua was never really on the same level of skill as either Anatoila mercenary, Staryed or the lone mercenary. Each one performed deeds far beyond what even an expectational pilot was expected do and poor joshu was a great pilot but he never could surpass them. J i feel is the same, he may have been able to enhance his skills, but he was still only a copy of Joshua who perhaps was missing the human element that made joshu a great pilot
@@armoredcorelore during Joshua and Anatolia Merc's time together they were a force to be reckoned with but I also knew it was probably more on the fact that Merc was a crack shot with every AC's Merc Piloted. I also came to question why they chose to go with Joshua's Battle Data instead of STRAYED's or Lone's since those two were more prominent than Joshua in terms of Combat and they probably couldn't get their hands on Merc's data given the guy's mostly running unrecorded missions.
So yeah overall, it's a matter of whether J is simply comprised of Joshua's Data or a splice of many other famous Ravens and Lynx but if it's simply Joshua's, Anatolia's Mercenary would have the upper hand given their machinery only differs in firepower and a little mobility ( that black glint can spray and dodge I tell you that).
(Yes it can tell me about it, i had to play the game again for some research) Still you do make a good point about battle data since they have one lynx, but not the other that killed him. For anatolia's mercenary and strayed there are a few ideas like we could point to thier operators being the ones to wipe such data, if strayed turned into the monster who was out to destroy all its possible when he was defeated that such data was wiped to prevent another monster being born.
What regulation is this? Some of these numbers don't match up, like the CB-Judith. Mine, XBOX reg 1.0, no booster tune like shown Horizontal thrust - 8820 Horizontal EN cost - 9900 QB - 37908 QB EN cost - 64600 weight - 176 EN cost - 262 WG 4A, it could actually be a callback to earlier games. WG is designed as a flyer type. Given the homage of 9 in various, Nine-Ball was an aggressive flyer mid-weight AC. The SALINE05 missiles would form the Seraph version, not to mention its flying form and unique transformation. WG 4, the EB-0305 may have a lower attack stat than Dragonslayer and Moonlight, but it can, in fact, deal more damage than both due to its long blade length. It heavily depends on how the blade hits the target. In this case, the longer the blade, the more per instances of blade damage can be applied on the target. WG 4 plays into the OG era. It's a classic high speed, rifle, blade, powerful back weapon, type machine. It also coincidentally plays well to the OG method of bunny/boost hopping, given its low EN cap, high output generator. Also, both WG have similar dodge and attack, it resembles closely to the erratic twitch dodge of PS2 era, particularly necessary for Last Raven. I think a lot of us in the OG might recognize it, QB just obscures it. Joshua in Aretha also kept the same pattern, ironically. The other NEXTs don't really dodge the same way.
I believe this is regulation 1.4, i would later go on to make sure all videos like this would use the default reg which is why the numbers are different in this video.
It share similar designs to white glint with it looks, vanguard overbooster and assault armour. So far in lore wise we have towers that have technology from a past war that ruined the earth. This is theorized to be the lynx war so it might be where the foundation got it design from and the idea that its Pilot J is cloned from pilots with great skills one perhaps being the original white glint pilot Joshua. However there are for and against points to N-wgix's connection to white glint and it does come down to if you believe the AC4 and FA are linked. As we do have people who say no its not and other that say it does.
Correct the pilot of the White Glint we see in ACFA is Anatolia's mercenary as this explains why Fiona is his operator still. If you get a chance do check out the interview with her from the armored core book a new order for nexts, its posted in the image gallery of the white glint wiki page in English. Its a short, but good read.
In armored core 4 the next that required the most frs was white glint and the max FRS a player could get is 300 on the ps3 version. There is the glitch that allowed players to get 337 on ps3 and i believe the max on xbox 360 is 337 (Can't confirm however as i don't own an xbox 360 copy of the game). The max frs in for answer is 442 and i believe it was Unsung who used the most FRS in that game.
I can see why. An Ac that uses customs parts with the head looking like a TYPE-HOGIRE's head and the whole craft having similar design to the 03-AALIYAH. However different universes separates these two crafts.
@@armoredcorelore Having played all AC games except 5, I can confidently say I had a harder time against some versions of Stinger shredding me with that blade and speed than I did against White Glint, with the latter all I did was spam chainguns and close in with a Moonlight after the energy explosion
Absolutely floored when I saw your channel pop up in my recommended. AC4/AC4A are my favorite AC timeline (well, favorite _part_ of the timeline considering V/VD) and I would LOVE more videos on this. If you're looking for video ideas, I would like to request the lore of what happens during and after Attack on Ateria Carpals - the name of that mission has been burned into my brain for over a decade - specifically because I would use it as a testing ground for multi-player viability. If I could solo them all without using cheesy nukes, running out of ammo or dying, then I could take the build online.
There kinda has been already, just a lot of fans dont know the true history of what happened to the series... AC4 was the first title Miyazaki directed and it was considered a flop. From Soft immediately pulled Miyazaki from the AC team. The devs who made AC2- Last raven then came back and made AC4 For answer, to try to save the series. Then when they were told the direction of AC5 they disagreed, and wanted to continue based off For Answer. Because of this split, the biggest directors, AC designers, and 3/4 of the dev team quit From Soft to make their own company and continue on as the series should have. This is also why we havent had any AC titles in over a decade. This series that they made is called DAEMON X MACHINA and is the true soul successor to the series. So many new features and features from old games....even fully destructable limbs, and the ability to salvage lost limbs or weapons off of other slain mechs. White Glint eveb lives on, and is currently called RADIANT GLEAM.

I agree the anime style is different, but i dont think youd, or I, have any clue what they mightve had to go through, when quitting From Soft and having to leave almost all assets and copyrighted materials behind. To then have to start over development wise from scartch. Maybe that was their only option for what they were working with at the time? I totally feel that the cell shaded graphics are better than nothing, and it still looks great on PC for a Switch port. I agree that it doesnt feel as good as AC For Answer did, but DXM is 100x better than AC5 or VD ever was. And those are the last AC titles from FROM Soft that bombed so hard, they havent touched or mentioned the series by name for a decade now. The combat is amazing, and feels like a very nice blend of For Answer and older style AC. The desctructable limbs and salvaging limbs adds more depth than previous entries, along with more parts, enjoyable farming, and a very refreshing randomly generated dungeon mode with tough bosses and good loot farming is something the series has needed for 20 years now. Also, the energy system has been revamped again, like For Answer did with Kojima only better balanced, and it feels like a truely updated and more diversified Kojima system, with swapping between Normal, Flight, Dps, and Shield mode on the fly adds a much better level of pilot skill than human plus, or Kojima ever did. Not to mention, no other AC game has ever really tried ANY form of endgame loop or replayable content. In the older AC titles, it was mostly only replaying the same missions for S rank or trying bew builds, with no diversity in missions really. In some of the later titles, like AC4 and onward, there was PVP and some mission replaying but thats it. Yes DXM has some large over the top bosses, but thats something the series has almost ALWAYS had back to ps1 days. They are well designed and have multiple stages of difficulty, all with their own unique weapons and parts based off of them that you can farm. Even just off of bosses is over 100 parts by themselves, not to mention getting to farm thousands of other parts as well. Its a good endgame loop, with Challenging bosses at the highest difficulties, and a randomly generated dungeon mode for farming parts for new builds or making already existed builds even stronger. Not to mention, every single part is very tuneable, with almost all stats being manipuable. 2 players could have the same parts on both builds, but could still have very different stats because of this.
@@lukefinley6660 Hmmm idk man, the characters were so cringe. Quitting FromSoftware is not a good enough excuse for that. The combat actually... I'm glad you liked it, but I didn't. Like, at all. Every weapon felt the same, just changing parameters. Parts? They didn't seem to have noticeable effects, like, the starter mech was aleady good enough which is totally not the case in Armored Core. Graphics were ok (functional, for the Switch utter lack of power I guess), i liked the art direction more. Very cool looking mechas, too bad most of it was close to useless. The walking out of the mech bit made no sense to me, just a plot extention in the gameplay, but it was completely out of place. Also, the controls were not really my favorite, but that's subjective. The screen is way too often cluttered with cubes and glares and stuff, wasn't too fond of that; the missions were not too good too, but Armored Core's ones weren't brilliant either gotta say. And goddamn that "mode selector" was hard to use effectively, the UI in general was too small. I promise i'm not old, i'm 24 lol Overall, the game was meh imho, only part i really enjoyed was mecha design.
You know I don't get why people are so surprised Anatolia's mercinary survived that battle. When the other lynx that went in to the ocean did, and the Nexts frame was intact enough to rebuild after sitting in the ocean for God knows how long with the only problem being it's cooling system of all things.

The missile launcher on the AC4:FA version of White Glint, depending on which regulation set you play, can be stupidly powerful. Reg Set 2 I think. Makes them faster, track better and hit harder. AC killers.
No J is more a clone of different pilots as for NGWIX i take this answer from the armored core v the after book page 104. It is a refurnished version of an air craft that once boasted amazing combat power in the great war and was given to J.

Coupled with the fact that Strayed's main theme song is Scorcher, and that AC4's protagonist has Thinker as his main theme song and canon AC name; it's likely that FROM intended protagonist of AC4 to be this calm, wise protector while intending the protagonist of AC4A to be this uncontrollable violent destroyer (which....actually happens in one of the endings)
Thinker was actually Joshua's theme. The raven's theme was Panther. You can hear hints of his theme in Remember.
Dichotomy. I always see the Strayed as Joshua surviving the fight with the Merc.
Miyazaki is a big fan of Berserk and we can see this with Joshua. White Glint (Griffifth) and ARETHA-00 (Femto). This fits Strayed considering that he's strayed to his ideals and destroys the world to make it into a better one.
The reverse of this is Ostdarva to Thermidor (lap dog of the destroyer of the world to the liberator of the world).
White Glint (Merc) just wanted to be left alone with his girl similar to Guts and Casca.

Can't help but notice how much the fate of White Glint and the Anatolian Mercenary has in common with the Freedom Gundam and Kira Yamato lol. Glad to know the lore has Line Ark surviving on the side lines. It would've been cool to do more missions for their faction.
I would make a joke about plot armour here but we all know anime loves its plot armour. Yes the links are there between the fates of the two only less princesses and shouting. Still i jest it would have been cool to have more link ark missions maybe a link ark ending too.
This is one of those channels, like the Diablo 2 players who made content before the remaster, and old WoW streamers who got huge after remastered/classic/return genre games came out and they already had years of content to look at and were ahead. Fiona is still alive, she’s managing line Ark and getting them properly prepared with the League being distracted by ORCA.

Well there is no evidence at this point. But if I had to speculate here, Kasumi retires from being a next pilot some time after the Lynx war when the corporation she worked for merged to for interior union allowing her to do so during this process. After some time either low on cash or missing the mercenary life she finds work as an operator either for the league or collard now the under name Serene Haze which is how she and strayed meet.
As for the hero of the lynx war and Fiona it possible that during their time away they formed link ark. It never stated in game but Fiona seems to be the one doing a lot of the talking for Line ark and there is nothing to say she is not part of the line ark leadership team, who with the hero rallied some people of earth together or aided someone like an old government minster to form link ark.
Still its that missing bit of history that keeps me wanting to look more at the AC lore.

I have the kotobukiya model kit (with vob) of the FA whiteglint. It is a gorgeous craft and I love using it during my run throughs of ACFA. Arguably the most iconic and popular design, even more sore than nine balls iterations. I also love how it continued the Anatolia Mercs legacy, was a bit heart wrenching to either fight or fight beside what was effectively yourself from the past, almost like fighting or allying your past ghost

That was my favorite AC in terms of looks. The guns that looked like wings, the emblem, it was awesome. N.O. Had some Gundam vibes
You know, something to consider is that in terms of both design, weapons and playstyle, the White Glint in 4A seems to be paying tribute to Berlioz. Similar weapons layout, design is very similar to essentially a more proportional Aaliyah, and it focuses on the same dodging/mid range combat.
I think that in a way this could be Anatolia's Merch paying tribute not only to his friend, but the fallen Lynxs of the Lynx war. At the very least showing respect to Berlioz (which acknowledges the respect that Berlioz gave AM when they fought)
That does kind of explain why this White Glint evokes the image of an angel with wings

The Legend White Glint is one Armored Core that you musnt face in combat
Although I love how white link looked it was not my kind of a mech. I need something capable of packing more guns. So I made a modified mid weight mech with surprisingly high speed combined with assault armour. It couldn't keep itself in the air for long but the recharge time surely fixed the issue.

Fun fact about WG mk1. The MR-R102 and EC-0300 have the highest total damage output in their class of weapons. When I first unlocked the ability to build it, I dug into the build to help develope my own lightweight\hyper build. That lead to me creating Pixy, then later my 4400kmh build Sonic Boom

Miyazaki really do love balancing out both sides. We have GA and Omer dividing the world in half. You got Akavit and Rayleonard basically being the kings of enterprise to which all of the other companies ganged up on.
Aspina and Anatolia were independent due to their legendary pilots. Omer made Joshua use ARETHA, basically the father of all NEXTs designed by Dr Jarnefeldt of Anatolia, the creator of NEXTs.

I'm not sure there was ever any official answer as to whether White Glint's *pilot* was ever killed in the Japanese source material. AC has that early translation weirdness some of the time in addition to FROM loving to keep things vague.
It is a very fromsoft thing to do. I guess it depends on what sources we take, as the book armored core a new order for nexts hints that line ark has a lynx, but lacks a next for them which is speculated this could be white glints pilot. The game hints could be taken as he was killed in action or is alive however his next is done for as such he is powerless without it therefore line ark is finished.
If possible, can you make a video on Serene Haze/Kasumi Sumika? She’s my favorite character in For Answer being our mentor/operator an all.

White Glint (FA version) was heavily modified and appeared in ACVD (N/WGIX) shows both were very well designed craft, I don’t know much on 9ball but white glint made the corporate entities pause in fear.

Really didn't want to do this mission Glint and line Ark seemed like the only nice people left.
One point of critique: I'm pretty sure the back-mounted spread missile launchers on White Glint are actually exceptionally good missile weapons. I played the shit out of AC4A back in the day, and those missile launchers would consistently hit hard against almost all targets, while also having a higher chance to at least partially hit enemy NEXTs than other spread missiles. Their overall damage output is quite high, making them very useful against durable targets as well (like Arms Forts, warships, etc.). In that sense, they make up for White Glint's lack of a laser blade, by being an easy option for high damage output on a big target that can't evade well.
That's fair, i can only really give my opinion on the weapon during my time with them and i know others have experimented a lot more with them. So let me thank you for sharing your thoughts on this subject.

If we are talking about N-WGIX/v, the craft shares similar designs of white Glint along with other nexts like the Type Lahire and 063AN. I don't think N-WGIX is White Glint, i think its a mash up of parts the foundation managed to recover or study and made into what they believed to be an unbeatable machine of war.

A DLC idea I once had was a new campaign for 4A where you play as Anatolia’s mercenary post the attack of strayed and Ostrava, having to slowly claw back yourself after your legendary NEXT was sunk into the abyss.
Start with a pathetic excuse for a NEXT, super inflated store prices (you have to buy on the black market) and ultra hard missions as you work to rebuild the legend you lost. Bonus points for Fiona coming back to support you.

... the fact that it is ONE POINT over weight is very interesting to me.
There's also the 3rd White Glint piloted by "J" in AC Verdict Day as the final boss which ties an interesting bow on the story and also solidifies that obviously IV and V take place in the same universe and for my money makes me suspect that VI will be a continuation of this timeline but also try to meld the AC2 space/planet colonization with this universe. I just want it on paper somewhere that I think VI will be like AC 2 on mars but with primal armor and its repercussions and the lore of IV and V. Also the lessons they learned from dark souls is that you'll be able to click a stick and lock onto something to at least keep your camera planted before it darts off. that would've been a good addition to any of these games.
Noted and you mean like the lock on function in ac4 which would lock onto a next and only break if the next managed to get out of sight.
About those missiles. They're not all that useful now, but in reg 1.00. They are a terror and will mulch most nexts in seconds.

Yes and yes. The goal is to cover the whole series, but i like to cover all i can before i move on.
Depending on what regulation you play, it affects the load capacities. I noticed a couple of schematics from your videos come overweight. Could be because they were designed for the first regulation.
You are correct about the weight in regulations and yes it was decided that for the lore videos i would use the regulation the game came with.

A note about the Saline05 spread missiles. IIRC they were much more accurate than normal spread missiles. I think it's true for the default regulations; I don't know if holds true for all of regulations.

Yes AC6 does seem a little lost. But i would always recommend anyone to play the older games, they offer something many games at the time and dare i say now don't offer. Plus they are still fun to play and from a lore point its neat to see how fromsoftware kept close to thier corporation ruled world idea with each series.

You are correct, the player is the mercenary in AC4 who becomes White Glint which is why he can't speak and Fiona does the talking for him. However for lore purposes the player character is given a name like for AC4 it is Anatolia's Mercenary while in ACFA the player is known as Strayed.

I really would've loved to see a fight between the Merc and FA's White Glint against VD's N-WG piloted by J (Joshua's Clone). Thoughts?
It certainly would be interesting to watch from a point of clone vs humans and if the tactics of pilots changed over time. Plus the famous white glint vs black glint battle is a dream battle. But i think we also have to take into account that Joshua was never really on the same level of skill as either Anatoila mercenary, Staryed or the lone mercenary.
Each one performed deeds far beyond what even an expectational pilot was expected do and poor joshu was a great pilot but he never could surpass them. J i feel is the same, he may have been able to enhance his skills, but he was still only a copy of Joshua who perhaps was missing the human element that made joshu a great pilot
@@armoredcorelore during Joshua and Anatolia Merc's time together they were a force to be reckoned with but I also knew it was probably more on the fact that Merc was a crack shot with every AC's Merc Piloted. I also came to question why they chose to go with Joshua's Battle Data instead of STRAYED's or Lone's since those two were more prominent than Joshua in terms of Combat and they probably couldn't get their hands on Merc's data given the guy's mostly running unrecorded missions.
So yeah overall, it's a matter of whether J is simply comprised of Joshua's Data or a splice of many other famous Ravens and Lynx but if it's simply Joshua's, Anatolia's Mercenary would have the upper hand given their machinery only differs in firepower and a little mobility ( that black glint can spray and dodge I tell you that).
What made Joshua so special was his humanity beyond all else.
(Yes it can tell me about it, i had to play the game again for some research) Still you do make a good point about battle data since they have one lynx, but not the other that killed him. For anatolia's mercenary and strayed there are a few ideas like we could point to thier operators being the ones to wipe such data, if strayed turned into the monster who was out to destroy all its possible when he was defeated that such data was wiped to prevent another monster being born.

WG 4A, it could actually be a callback to earlier games. WG is designed as a flyer type. Given the homage of 9 in various, Nine-Ball was an aggressive flyer mid-weight AC. The SALINE05 missiles would form the Seraph version, not to mention its flying form and unique transformation.
WG 4, the EB-0305 may have a lower attack stat than Dragonslayer and Moonlight, but it can, in fact, deal more damage than both due to its long blade length. It heavily depends on how the blade hits the target. In this case, the longer the blade, the more per instances of blade damage can be applied on the target. WG 4 plays into the OG era. It's a classic high speed, rifle, blade, powerful back weapon, type machine. It also coincidentally plays well to the OG method of bunny/boost hopping, given its low EN cap, high output generator.
Also, both WG have similar dodge and attack, it resembles closely to the erratic twitch dodge of PS2 era, particularly necessary for Last Raven. I think a lot of us in the OG might recognize it, QB just obscures it. Joshua in Aretha also kept the same pattern, ironically. The other NEXTs don't really dodge the same way.
I believe this is regulation 1.4, i would later go on to make sure all videos like this would use the default reg which is why the numbers are different in this video.

Questions I have been wondering is n-wgix/v from verdict day have some kind of connection with white glint aswell Bec that unit look similar tho?
It share similar designs to white glint with it looks, vanguard overbooster and assault armour. So far in lore wise we have towers that have technology from a past war that ruined the earth. This is theorized to be the lynx war so it might be where the foundation got it design from and the idea that its Pilot J is cloned from pilots with great skills one perhaps being the original white glint pilot Joshua.
However there are for and against points to N-wgix's connection to white glint and it does come down to if you believe the AC4 and FA are linked. As we do have people who say no its not and other that say it does.
So was White Glint 2 was the Lynx you play as in Armored Core 4?
Correct the pilot of the White Glint we see in ACFA is Anatolia's mercenary as this explains why Fiona is his operator still. If you get a chance do check out the interview with her from the armored core book a new order for nexts, its posted in the image gallery of the white glint wiki page in English. Its a short, but good read.
What's the max FRS you can get? And which NEXT schematic needs the most FRS?
In armored core 4 the next that required the most frs was white glint and the max FRS a player could get is 300 on the ps3 version. There is the glitch that allowed players to get 337 on ps3 and i believe the max on xbox 360 is 337 (Can't confirm however as i don't own an xbox 360 copy of the game). The max frs in for answer is 442 and i believe it was Unsung who used the most FRS in that game.
I assumed it was an evolution of Stinger.
I can see why. An Ac that uses customs parts with the head looking like a TYPE-HOGIRE's head and the whole craft having similar design to the 03-AALIYAH. However different universes separates these two crafts.
@@armoredcorelore Having played all AC games except 5, I can confidently say I had a harder time against some versions of Stinger shredding me with that blade and speed than I did against White Glint, with the latter all I did was spam chainguns and close in with a Moonlight after the energy explosion

Absolutely floored when I saw your channel pop up in my recommended. AC4/AC4A are my favorite AC timeline (well, favorite _part_ of the timeline considering V/VD) and I would LOVE more videos on this.
If you're looking for video ideas, I would like to request the lore of what happens during and after Attack on Ateria Carpals - the name of that mission has been burned into my brain for over a decade - specifically because I would use it as a testing ground for multi-player viability. If I could solo them all without using cheesy nukes, running out of ammo or dying, then I could take the build online.

Let’s hope for an AC6
I hope so, I'd like some new lore to study and game to play.
There kinda has been already, just a lot of fans dont know the true history of what happened to the series...
AC4 was the first title Miyazaki directed and it was considered a flop. From Soft immediately pulled Miyazaki from the AC team. The devs who made AC2- Last raven then came back and made AC4 For answer, to try to save the series. Then when they were told the direction of AC5 they disagreed, and wanted to continue based off For Answer. Because of this split, the biggest directors, AC designers, and 3/4 of the dev team quit From Soft to make their own company and continue on as the series should have. This is also why we havent had any AC titles in over a decade. This series that they made is called DAEMON X MACHINA and is the true soul successor to the series.
So many new features and features from old games....even fully destructable limbs, and the ability to salvage lost limbs or weapons off of other slain mechs. White Glint eveb lives on, and is currently called RADIANT GLEAM.

@@yellow13_ Yes it truely is. I agree the anime style is different, but i dont think youd, or I, have any clue what they mightve had to go through, when quitting From Soft and having to leave almost all assets and copyrighted materials behind. To then have to start over development wise from scartch. Maybe that was their only option for what they were working with at the time? I totally feel that the cell shaded graphics are better than nothing, and it still looks great on PC for a Switch port. I agree that it doesnt feel as good as AC For Answer did, but DXM is 100x better than AC5 or VD ever was. And those are the last AC titles from FROM Soft that bombed so hard, they havent touched or mentioned the series by name for a decade now.
The combat is amazing, and feels like a very nice blend of For Answer and older style AC. The desctructable limbs and salvaging limbs adds more depth than previous entries, along with more parts, enjoyable farming, and a very refreshing randomly generated dungeon mode with tough bosses and good loot farming is something the series has needed for 20 years now. Also, the energy system has been revamped again, like For Answer did with Kojima only better balanced, and it feels like a truely updated and more diversified Kojima system, with swapping between Normal, Flight, Dps, and Shield mode on the fly adds a much better level of pilot skill than human plus, or Kojima ever did.
Not to mention, no other AC game has ever really tried ANY form of endgame loop or replayable content. In the older AC titles, it was mostly only replaying the same missions for S rank or trying bew builds, with no diversity in missions really. In some of the later titles, like AC4 and onward, there was PVP and some mission replaying but thats it. Yes DXM has some large over the top bosses, but thats something the series has almost ALWAYS had back to ps1 days. They are well designed and have multiple stages of difficulty, all with their own unique weapons and parts based off of them that you can farm. Even just off of bosses is over 100 parts by themselves, not to mention getting to farm thousands of other parts as well. Its a good endgame loop, with Challenging bosses at the highest difficulties, and a randomly generated dungeon mode for farming parts for new builds or making already existed builds even stronger. Not to mention, every single part is very tuneable, with almost all stats being manipuable. 2 players could have the same parts on both builds, but could still have very different stats because of this.
@@lukefinley6660 Hmmm idk man, the characters were so cringe. Quitting FromSoftware is not a good enough excuse for that. The combat actually... I'm glad you liked it, but I didn't. Like, at all. Every weapon felt the same, just changing parameters. Parts? They didn't seem to have noticeable effects, like, the starter mech was aleady good enough which is totally not the case in Armored Core. Graphics were ok (functional, for the Switch utter lack of power I guess), i liked the art direction more. Very cool looking mechas, too bad most of it was close to useless. The walking out of the mech bit made no sense to me, just a plot extention in the gameplay, but it was completely out of place. Also, the controls were not really my favorite, but that's subjective. The screen is way too often cluttered with cubes and glares and stuff, wasn't too fond of that; the missions were not too good too, but Armored Core's ones weren't brilliant either gotta say. And goddamn that "mode selector" was hard to use effectively, the UI in general was too small. I promise i'm not old, i'm 24 lol
Overall, the game was meh imho, only part i really enjoyed was mecha design.
You know I don't get why people are so surprised Anatolia's mercinary survived that battle. When the other lynx that went in to the ocean did, and the Nexts frame was intact enough to rebuild after sitting in the ocean for God knows how long with the only problem being it's cooling system of all things.
Well the game did make quite the deal about it almost steering the player to think this way.

The missile launcher on the AC4:FA version of White Glint, depending on which regulation set you play, can be stupidly powerful. Reg Set 2 I think. Makes them faster, track better and hit harder. AC killers.
Neat all these videos however are done on reg1 just as a lore thing for me.
