really liked this look behind the scenes! would love to see the little kitbashes/conversions in a bit more detail, might steal some ideas for my own :)
This is a great video. I really like these journal-style videos on how and what people are collecting, and their methodology on creating something unique and individual for that player.
Without knowing I've been doing the exact same as you. I bought Mal when he was released and he reinvigorated my desire to do Sons of Horus again. I love the newer chaos marines and I've mixed them with heresy bits
absolutely totally works in 40k for chaos marines, they've been in the warp and some have been in there for 1000s of years, some think it's been the Horus Heresy yesterday so you can always say this is just a group that was caught up in a weird time loop
Loved the video and the various SOH tutorials on patreon! Definitely please do an army painting tutorial for the basic marines or terminators, can't wait to see what you do with them.
Just rewatching this video while touching up my Sons of Horus for Greetings Siege of Terra What If. Really like the repose I am thinking of converting this model into a Horus to use in 40k, so nice to see that it's possible! I can't wait to see the rest of your army painted!
Subtle conversion that makes it look brilliant! I am with you in the work and slow burn for hobby time, work 12 hr shifts and then daddy day care on my two days off so it means that I get very little free time to do hobby stuff, which means my 30k white scars are languishing with my 40k SM and IG and a big pile of shame sits there.
Looks amazing, cant wait to see the sea green chaos marines. Maloghurst would make a decent stand in for a dark apostle as the prayers and his banner can kinda do similar things
Would be great if we could entice you back to Heresy but there's nothing more I like than completed fully painted armies, so good luck with the 40k build!
Always good to hear you talking about the decision making process behind the wizardry, and where you're at on the various projects. But ... is it really a Cult of Paint video on RUclips if Henry isn't whispering "sansodor" in our ears? :)
I love doing heresy and from time to time I like to paint up sons of horus because they're just the sons of horus, they have a great aesthetic and for a legion without a specialization they somehow don't feel like they're without their own flavor. I love the Horus Heresy and for me when I envision the legions I think of the astartes as warriors larger than life, this is the era of establishing permenance for humanity and so I like that reflected in the models so I don't use a whole lot of transfers, if I have to do something for a transfer it's generally something small enough where I do a freehand, like squad numerical designations on the knees. But what I'm getting to is that if you ever decide to try your hand at the Sons of Horus again, there are a lot of 3d printable items you could print or buy online that just look fantastic, 'pop goes the monkey' is one and another that have great Sons of Horus specific stuff is 'red warden miniatures', they got shoulder pads, helmets, legs etc. So there's a lot out there
Don't worry about Maloghurst, I'm sure in chaos codex that's soon to be released they will add some kind of chaos ancient//standard bearer for chaos so he can be that.
Looks awesome can't wait to see it all, the green is absolutely gorgeous this really has made me want to collect a traitor force myself which I never would have said 😆 the heresy
Loving it. Patreon subscriber here and the Abby tutorial is great. Going to test it out on some CSM first before going for Abaddon himself. Any progress on the army itself?
me whos finally into chaos and loves black legion and abaddon :D i also love sons of horus but it would be better if it was in 40k like you say, idk how i would incorperate them into 40k. There is an amazing horus model by dakkadakka store that id want to get at some point aswell
I believe there actually ARE a few Sons of Horus remnants in 40k, such as the True Sons and Wolves of Horus. Sadly there's not much info on them, but it'd be great to see more of them someday!
Is that a separate model or a kit bash? I'd really love to see how the sword arm was redone if it was just a swap out or if they were able to cut the arm to work like that
'Donnie's face in that frame of black is AMAZING. But where is his Abadd-ON switch!? :D Totally agree with your choices on the kitbashes, that scale balance in a post -Primaris 40K landscape is a bugger. Looking forward to the green and black trim on the CSM...
How do you find the proportions of using standard Mk7 marine stuff with the new CSM models? I'm looking at doing similar mixing and matching, but with CSM being about 10% bigger since their revamp, does it work well or are they slightly oddly proportioned when compared across the squad?
The Black Legion is shattered into many different warbands, there may be one that has declared itself loyal to the memory of the Warmaster, and repainted their black armour green again?
There's a former Sons of Horus warband that never sided with Abaddon called the True Sons, in the Black Legion supplement from a few years ago. It doesn't say what their colour scheme is, but the fluff makes it pretty obvious that they exist so you can paint CSMs in Sons of Horus colours. The same bit of fluff also mentioned a similar warband called the Wolves of Horus, who are nostalgic for the Lunar Wolves days, if you want to go that route too.
They need to find some narrative way to make Abaddon ( Abba-Don =D ) more nefarious and threatening in the lore. Or drop a new big bad into the world. Thanks for the content!

FOR THE WARMASTER! GLORY TO THE BLACK LEGION!
A pleasure to listen and watch, and great ideas about Abaddon! Now I'll have to think about getting those Chaos Termies...
I love army Vlogs, its super inspirational to here thoughts on your mindset to approaching the army and would be awesome to see your progress on them.
This is a great video. I really like these journal-style videos on how and what people are collecting, and their methodology on creating something unique and individual for that player.
I really like that. Very nice work with the modelling part.
best looking Abbadon I've ever seen, absolutely stunning!
Without knowing I've been doing the exact same as you. I bought Mal when he was released and he reinvigorated my desire to do Sons of Horus again. I love the newer chaos marines and I've mixed them with heresy bits
Love this kind of video! Would be awesome to hear more of your thoughts and ideas on your personal projects! How about a video on that UM heresy army?
That Abaddon is inspiring! Absolutely love that. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the rest of it.

Your idea is brilliant! looking forward to see your army.

Love it Andy! Great work mate.

Fantastic work on the conversion, really great Abaddon

Inaccurate?
Not fluffy?
RULE OF COOL BABY!
looks ace!
Abaddons hair always makes me laugh. If it wasn't windy, he wouldn't be able to see!
I loved the lumineth video and loved this one too! Look forward to seeing paint on these marines with that color scheme
I love these videos, can’t wait to see more of these lads
Looks like the original artwork come to LIFE,Bravo l'artiste !!
Its always cool to hear about a project like this. Looking forward to more :) its a lovely colour scheme

keen to see more WIP of this project
What a great paint! usually the highlight on most of mini painting that I saw looks too harsh to me, what you did was what I aim to do.
that is truly a work of art!
Beautiful... I love the SoH and your approach to the project, I'm looking forward to seeing the terminators tutorial 👌🏻 superb work.
Definitely interested! I’m struggling with these boys and their trim, I’d love to see how you get it done!
Looks amazing, cant wait to see the sea green chaos marines.
Maloghurst would make a decent stand in for a dark apostle as the prayers and his banner can kinda do similar things
Wow amazing Abaddon
Amazing work! Looking forward to my Deorgard figures! :)
love these project update videos they are very inspiring
Would be great if we could entice you back to Heresy but there's nothing more I like than completed fully painted armies, so good luck with the 40k build!
Love these project vlogs
That looks so sick Andy👌💥👌 Also love how the rest of the of the army is looking. Great mix of kits and less spikes👍
i can't wait to see more of your black legion! :D
Amazing interpretation
Awesome project. This is gonna look epic.
yes, definitely yes !
Definitely interested in these kind of video's!

Love this army and I'm waiting for some update, I'm going for something similar for my sons of horus
Still waiting for update :)
We defo need an update on this
Loving it. Patreon subscriber here and the Abby tutorial is great. Going to test it out on some CSM first before going for Abaddon himself.
Any progress on the army itself?
I’ll be following this closely 👌🏻
Does the patreon have a tutorial for the sylvaneth army?
Ich would love to see the progress on this.
Whatever happened to this project Andy? Did you went through with it? Cheers.
me whos finally into chaos and loves black legion and abaddon :D i also love sons of horus but it would be better if it was in 40k like you say, idk how i would incorperate them into 40k. There is an amazing horus model by dakkadakka store that id want to get at some point aswell

Is there a tutorial for Sylvaneth on your Patreon? I'm in love with your color scheme.
What was that carry case your Sylvaneth were in??
I’d love to know the armour colour scheme? Did you use one of the ones already posted?
Can't wait to see the force take shape! Abaddon is causing a bit of a hobby wobble for me from orks :)
Where did you get you case for the sylvaneth?
God those marines are crisp
How do you find the proportions of using standard Mk7 marine stuff with the new CSM models? I'm looking at doing similar mixing and matching, but with CSM being about 10% bigger since their revamp, does it work well or are they slightly oddly proportioned when compared across the squad?
I love that his racks, they make him look a lot more sleek.
when will u make a Lumineth Realm-Lords Amry Progress?
Mhalogurst could be a dark apostle or even just a generic chaos lord
New Heresy box coming? Even tho it’s leaked that’s not confirmed
sell it?

That face looks amazing mate
Great paint job but the repositioning of his right arm doesn't work at all.
to bad abaddon is not in green also that would have looked sick
That face is awesome.

Wait, your yoked mate
: )
That is disgusting... How well you paint, I wish I was a quarter as good as you.
Amateur paint job, 3-10, would not recommend. x
