    I have heard your definition of pentacles and pentagrams a couple of times. Just fyi
    I'm pretty sure a pentacle is a talisman with a pentagram inscribed on it. Pentacles are objects you can hold, while pentagrams are drawn or inscribed.
    Love, love, love the pod cast!!!!

    Thankyou so much girlie's!! A wonderfully insightful topic which I thoroughly enjoyed! Will be heeding some of this advice. And have many crystals I am no longer drawn to so shall indeed pass them on and really need to venture into journalling again. ❤

    Essential oils tend to irritate my skin, even diluted in carrier oils, so I tend to make my own infused herbal oils. I do love foraging and wildcrafting from my garden so making infusions, oils, essences, etc. is such a beautiful experience. I love connecting to the plant spirits in my area.

    On smudging…”Smudging” is part of a native ceremony…so unless you are non native yet somehow have the ceremony details to hand (which you won’t have) and are about to reenact the whole thing, then of course that would be completely unacceptable! However, if you are using it just to cleanse & clear, then cleansing with Sage is completely acceptable. Using it to clear your home is not a “closed practice”Traditionally it was used many years ago in hospitals to cleanse the air of germs 🦠 There is nothing culturally ceremonial about that. So continue to use blue or white sage in your homes. And yes, making sure it’s come from a sustainable & ethical source is definitely important.

    Thanks, I enjoyed this episode 🙂 I started practicing 13 years ago, but lost my confidence, am listening to different witchy podcasts and videos to help me realise what my own practice looks like again.
    I was taught that no physical object is "essential" to witchcraft, but they are there to help you channel your energy and your will through to meet your desired goals, as we get more practiced we may not rely so much on th physical to work with the metaphysical :)
    My favourites however - anything that involves fire 🔥 candles, incense, a burning bin in the garden, my gas hob and oven to do some kitchen witchery 😊
    Also - a couple of traditional herbs for saining are mugwort and cedar (so I've heard), though be careful with mugwort especially if ingesting as it can mess with menstrual cycles :)
    Looking forward to the next one!

      Aww thanks Hazel! Yes definitely agree with you, that’s why we tried to really think about a small list of items that may be useful to get started rather than going out and buying tonnes of tools!
      We are definitely big advocates for making use of what you have already as well.
      Love your favourites! 😍 Yesss, mugwort is one of my faves! Not good to ingest if you’re pregnant or trying to conceive either! Xx

      I absolutely love Mugwort, but I have noticed that if I burn too much of it my seasonal allergies get worse. Has anyone else had this experience?
      Also, I love Rosemary and I burn it while I study new things. I used it all through college, and I had my son try it when he was struggling with a particular course in school and I feel like it helped him as well.
      Beeswax! My preferred mode of candle making. Just thought I would throw that in there.

      Depends what you are looking for really - but definitely looking at antique shops or charity shops for things like cauldrons, burning pots, candle stick holders etc & if you can, seek out & support independent shops for anything else!

    I can kind of see black as the same as white, being general but I could also see any color being used as an all-encompassing color especially if its your favorite color. I just thought of this...maybe if you have the money for the more natural healthier waxed candles maybe you could also use the paraffin candles for banedul workings since they are toxic🤔 BOY!!!!! Do I have a bad memory do to mental illnesses. I love using the pentacle, I don't usually use a physical pentacle but I draw it out with my fingers. I LOVE using mudras in my craft.

    I use a lot of salt! Salt for everything 😂 though I wondered if you guys had any thoughts on sourcing good quality stuff? I tend to every so often buy a nice one from the deli section in tkmaxx haha but I feel like with those it’s even harder to tell how it’s been processed or where it’s come from, how do you deal with this?

    • @EmbracingMagick
      @EmbracingMagick  6 месяцев назад +2

      Yesssss, do love some saltttt! My family are from Malta and I actually alot of the time bring back local sea salt as I feel very connected to the island so it's nice to have this for my practise.... I don't know where about's you're based and how easy it would be, but trying to find local sea salt would be a good option orrr maybe looking for a more independent company who are more passionate about sourcing 🙂

    • @EmbracingMagick
      @EmbracingMagick  5 месяцев назад +4

      Hi Samantha, thank you for your question! We’re not saying you shouldn’t wear a pentacle, alot of witches still wear them, and if it’s something you’re drawn to, then absolutely wear one. I think what Toni was trying to get across is just understanding the difference between the pentacle and pentagram and also the differences between wiccan and witches. Hope that helps! 😊

    Hello ladies,being someone from the west I must admit that the whole TikTok hysteria that started several years ago has many of us perplexed? I don’t know about you but here we don’t have children harvesting sage & I’m pretty sure that at no time have any one of us harvested our own coffee beans from Columbia or Costa Rica ? Not to mention I see no one jetting over to china to select their morning teas? I’m pretty sure that almost every single person on the planet has eaten other foods from other cultures, used products from other cultures & the funny thing is the “native Indians” are laughing their arss’ off as they’re the ones who sell it to all of us witches. I think we might be more concerned about things like blood diamonds & the like with children & people being used & killed for such crystals & the like? I for one am waiting for the TikTok lunacy to start about our beautiful mugwort? How long before that’s appropriate? Just so you know we don’t plant it, it grows everywhere here. Just a little food for thought. Thank you for your amazingly beautiful dialogue. Many may say where have you been all their lives? 💋🔮🐦‍⬛
