Would you be willing to discuss more of what a word witch is? I am excited to learn more about what that means/looks like in practice. It was mentioned at 10:08 briefly but not really expanded on later. I appreciate this podcast so much!
Can crystals give you cancer?
Not to be pro shoes but their invention was really quite necessary at a time where humans were migrating north into colder climates
So absolutely 100% agree about Braiding Sweetgrass. Interesting to hear about it from a witch's perspective
It's suggested that those earliest divination bones were the origins of chinese writing system. Of course, that's earliest in recorded history
Woman... 🤣
I agree with you. It's a privilege. The area I live is rich in Christianity . I fear of violence everyday, not just because of my beliefs but also being a transgender woman.
Totally. People don't always realize this. There is both places in the world where Women are still accused of Witchcraft just for being too "free". But even in our "modern" western societies we have people being harassed and menaced. I have Christian friends, but none of them get that I have this inherent mistrust of Christians I don't know. I fully admit it as a knee jerk prejudice. If I don't know someone and they are fronting as Christian, I am just wary. Like what are they going to do? I don't know if id rather encounter a bear in the woods than a Christian lol...but I wouldn't immediately answer a that question without having a good ponder and maybe a few "if...thens".
As a Highpriestess of the Aleandrian Tradition but now a seidr practitioner had to tell you yes its about being in a proper coven and properly trained and initiated so yes that involves training in Ritual so much learning but you do get some that can come across as sancimonious. we never called ourselves Wiccan but Witches it is very involved there is a difference in Witchcraft and British Traditional Witchcraft it also teaches kabalah and angtelics so much Gardinarians dont do all of that and are known as wiccans not all get up to 3rd degree it is different hope that helps
I’m still healing from childhood trauma caused by my incubator (I refuse to call her my mother due to what she did)! Speaking on past lives I was burned at the stake in several of them but in this life I have always been infatuated with fire which is so crazy to me!
🥺 Where are people still being killed or hurt for being a Witch ? I may be naive, but this shocks me, in the 21 stCentury ???
@@susanthompson5142 Ronald Hutton does a talk on RUclips about it.
It doesn’t. Not in any first world country. They’re likely using stories from third world countries or the Middle East. Something they talk about caring about but do nothing to change.
I love Witch by Lisa Lister. That was one of the books that woke me up and helped me to reconnect and appreciate me as a woman. It is not complicated and I felt her words In my heart.♥️
Another fantastic episode! Where are your necklaces from?!
Lovely episode ladies, feeling inspired as always ❤🎉
Thanks so much V 🙏🏼✨
For Mabon we have a thankful candle where each family member has a different color wax and we take turns pouring out wax on top of the candle while saying what we're thankful for. It's one of my favorite traditions and great for families.
That’s so beautiful, love that! ♥️♥️♥️
I find that the best way to stop the spread of exclusionary incidents is to work hard to be as inclusive as possible myself. Because it's a circular thing. Someone treats someone like they don't belong or they are the wrong sort, and then that person often turns around and does it to someone else. The only way to end it is to let it end with us.
We agree with you Amanda. Whilst we talk a lot in this episode about Wicca not resonating with us, we would never exclude someone who identifies as Wiccan and actually in a later episode we do mention this xxx
@@EmbracingMagick I've been watching them out of order and I just noticed this is your second episode. For your second ever video and it being an unscripted "among friends" discussion style, your entitled to be human. I just wanted to put that out there. I do love your videos.
@@AmandaJuneHagarty Really appreciate this comment Amanda, thank you ❤ It was our second episode on our first day ever of recording our conversations, so the whole podcasting thing was extremely new to us! xx
@@EmbracingMagick your braver than me. I keep wanting to get my witchy website and RUclips channel up and running but, between my ADHD and rejection sensitivity, I haven't gotten around to it.
The saying goes if uour hand itches it means money is coming your way, but if you scratch it, the money won't come.
I've never heard the second part of that saying!! Definitely never scratching it again! 😃
I remember when I lived in Canada, during a fairly contentious election, the local radio station lined the bottom of a bird cage with newspaper clippings of the candidates pictures and then tried to determine who would win based on which picture has more bird poop on it. LOL
OH WOW!! That's amazing 🤣
I really enjoy this, I feel similar to Lizzy in that I'm sorta new and am finding my way through it all. (Also a Leo funny enough. {apparently a Leo in Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars still working on understanding all that 😅})
I'm a Celtic inspired witchy pagan nowadays. And I don't mean Irish when I say Celtic. I just men general Celtic, like some of my work delves into the beliefs of the Gauls and some from the British Isles. I only recently discovered I am 1/4 Ukrainian and so I've actually been exploring Scythian beliefs. And I just have a real passion for anything mesolithic and copper age that I can learn about and connect to my practice. I get what your saying about Wicca because I have left it behind myself. But most of us, at least me and my fellow Gen Xers, probably started as Wiccan. And in fact, more modern practices could even be said to have started with Wicca even though they aren't Wicca, because the growth of Wicca has led to where we are today. So I think I have a certain respect for Wicca in a kind of "ancestral" way, just like I respect ancient Celtic practices. Wicca can be looked at a modern foundation for the newer modern Witches and Pagans. The basic tenet that should be consistent throughout our every style or flavor we have in our practice, is that we don't tell each other people how to Witch and we respect our differences. Everything else is really just window dressing. Or the way we choose to connect with the universe.
Absolutely! Every practise is different and it’s a very personal journey! I started off with Wicca too and moved away from it as well - we are constantly learning and evolving and that’s the beauty of it all 🖤
As a gardener I would like to inform you that gardening is primarily about setting intentions, experimenting, failing and trying again. For example you could set an intention in the spring to try to set up a pleasant space to enjoy and work on your skill of growing strawberries. And then you do whatever you need to do to set up the space, try a few types of strawberries in a few different places in your yard, to try different locations or sun exposure and trying out different fertilizers, etc. and then at the end of the year take a look at the progress you made as well as what worked and what didn't. So when you say you are a bad gardener that's not necessarily the case if you mean your plants don't thrive or produce a big harvest.maybe your tomatoes weren't all that productive, but you really figured out those strawberries and made a nice green space to sit in and relax, so you nailed it. Gardening is doing. Gardening is failing. Gardening is brushing the dirt off and doing again.
That is such a beautiful way at looking at it, thank you so much for sharing xxx
I know that this is a few months old but when you touched on grief there is also future grief which is where you grieve for the future that you were expecting to have but now cannot. 💖✨️
Yes, absolutely! 🖤🖤🖤
Amazing ❤ thank you so much ☺️
♥️
My new favorite podcast, how about just raw intuition mancy? Just relying on raw intuition to understand what is going on around you??
Very nice. Thank you.
♥️
This was fun. I've always felt there was a connection between performance and witchcraft too. The warm-ups we do as actors are for the same purpose we raise power and find focus in Witchcraft- to find the 'flow' or if you will 'connection to source/gods/universal energy'. xo, Aurora
Yes, definitely! 🖤🖤
Loving this podcast 🧙🏼
Thanks so much Jenny 🖤
Such an interesting guest. Lizzie looks like a Hollywood Movie star, so glam!
She doessss, so gorgeous! 😍
Awwww sooooo kind. Fankq. *Shuffles feet* x

Awww thank you so much! Welcome ♥️ so happy you’re enjoying it xx
My story is the same as Ellie's! I grew up in a similar way and finally came to witchcraft officially during the 2020 pandemic when I was furloughed from my job for almost 4 months and finally had time to rest, read and research. I dove in head first into my interests and discovered that I've always been a witch! 💚
That’s so amazing! 🙌🏼✨
❤
🖤
Yay loved this episode, wel l done, Ellie! xx
So glad you enjoyed it Meg! 🖤
This was wonderful. I am a former professional ballerina. I own and direct a classical ballet school now. I'm not sure I could call myself a witch, but I am exploring witchcraft and paganism. I find myself gravitating toward free flowing movement during my self-made moon-centric rituals. 🥰🌙
Aww thats amazing! I don't think you need to call yourself a witch if it doesn't feel right to you 🖤
Wheyyy Ellie!! 🎉 congrats for being the first guest! You gorgeous humans! Love you all! ❤️🔥 enjoyed this episode so much thank you all!
Awww thanks Rhiannon xx
How exciting!! I’m so happy you have another episode here!! Love that you have a guest! ❤
Aww thanks so much! Hope you enjoy xx

So awesome to have Ellie on!! Excellent episode. It is such a great reminder about how we can be kinder to ourselves about our bodies and how important movement is.
Yessss, we need to be kinder to ourselves! xx
Ya cool your first guest!!! Earlier this year or last year I saw a tiktok of this woman talking about how some tarot readers on TikTok like to be chaotic and dance and such and how it's masculine energy. I immediately thought that she was incorrect because so many traditions rely on dance and static movement and while they do move they are able to get spiritual insights...you become mentally lost in the moment to where you can recieve messages. The body is performing a masculine act but the mind is in a feminine space. I've recently got a health coach and I'm trying to find ways to witchy it up, pagan it up. I'm thinking of when I workout I'll dedicate it to either my Aries sun, Ares, Heracles or a new Goddess I'm trying to work with. I think it's cool that she is trying to incorporate astrology into the workouts. Being able to move our body is a privilege I agree with that. I became my Mom's caregiver at the age of 14 back in 2012 and over the years she became more and more immobile right up until she died last august. YYAAAAAA Congratulations 🎊 on losing 10 lbs!!! Since she is a dancer I wonder if she has any opinions on the 2 Suspiria movies. I agree that tough is important for the body. You can for the most part see your body, hear certain parts of your body, taste most of your body if you're into that, smell your body but touching your body is the best way to get to know your body if you are able too
That's so interesting, thanks so much for sharing! Ahh yessss, make the fitness more you, I love it! I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your mum 🖤 Yesss, using all the senses, great idea! x
@@EmbracingMagick Thank you 😊
Omg thank you for sharing. So helpful.

How could anyone say “ugh” to nettle?? It’s one of the best anti-inflammatory plants there are in Europe. My polish roots are screaming 😂
Hahaha! Nettle is the best!!
Hii, I'm an Icelandic witch and I would love to connect with you guys, I'm a year into my practise and I'm taking it quite slowly but I love the history of witchcraft and especially history of Icelandic witches, and I hold my ancestral line very close to me because I feel so connected with them when I practise witchcraft
Aww amazing! Are there any books you can recommend any books on Icelandic witchcraft?
Watching this shortly after Lughnasadh and the new moon. Enjoyed this, especially the idea of how celebrating the Wheel of the Year changes one's perspective on harder times of the year for the better. I am especially loving Lughnasadh this year because my garden is providing so many wonderful medicinal and magickal herbs, and blackberries are abundant right now! I love making corn dollies, and this year I baked yeast bread for the first time and it's WONDERFUL!

My patron God is Lucifer. I celebrate Samhain and Yule with/in honor of Lord Lucifer. It’s an incredible time to get in touch with his duality and work with both his light and dark aspects.
On smudging…”Smudging” is part of a native ceremony…so unless you are non native yet somehow have the ceremony details to hand (which you won’t have) and are about to reenact the whole thing, then of course that would be completely unacceptable! However, if you are using it just to cleanse & clear, then cleansing with Sage is completely acceptable. Using it to clear your home is not a “closed practice”Traditionally it was used many years ago in hospitals to cleanse the air of germs 🦠 There is nothing culturally ceremonial about that. So continue to use blue or white sage in your homes. And yes, making sure it’s come from a sustainable & ethical source is definitely important.
Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼

Absolutely adored this episode; thank you so much for posting, ladies - I’ve only just stumbled across your channel and coven, and I think it’s come at the right time 🌞 I will be looking to join online asap ✨
Thank you so much lovely! 🥰 We so look forward to welcoming you ♥️♥️
Watching this just before Lughnasadh is so special to me as I am at a year of my practice and Lughnasadh was the first sabbath I celebrated AND joining The Coven after a year of solitary practice feels so special (big thank you to Lizzy for giving me the push to join, my solar sister!) The Wheel of the Year, I think, is such a great way to start a practice as it feels easy to understand, research, and be active with, it definitely guided me through my year of practice! I can't wait to sit in on my first coven sabbath celebration!!! Fabulous podcast as always ladies! 🤍🌾
Yayyy! We’re so excited that you’ve joined us! 🫶🏼🫶🏼
AWWWW WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MESSAGE! THANK YOU 😘
Thank you so much for sharing your stories, you are all beautiful women who's journeys are so inspiring, I was crying along with you! I feel like I relate to each of your stories in my own journey and I'm sure I'm not the only one, hence why I've made the jump to join The Coven!! 🥰 I can't wait to strengthen my practice with a community of amazing, strong and welcoming witches! 🤍🌞
Awww Victoria ♥️♥️♥️ we are so happy you’ve joined us 🥰✨
I love you ladies so much! Your witchy cackles literally make my heart soar! That in itself is magic 🖤✨️
Awww thank you so much 🤗
Well I have been pronouncing samhaim wrong! Listened to this with my partner who also wants to start following the wheel of the year <3
Aww bless you, easily done! 🖤🖤
