Russetfur is so confusing!! One moment she’s all nice the next she’s letting kits die and saying letting kitty pets into clans is wrong when SHE WAS ORIGINALLY A KITTYPET!!!
For the one about a warrior rejecting the soft life of a kittypet, I don't like that one. Some kittypets are greedy, lazy, or manipulative/take advantage of their Twolegs, but so are the Clan cats. And like Jake said, by eating the food their Twolegs give to them, they are leaving real prey for the non-kittypets to eat. The life of a kittypet doesn't necessarily have to be soft. They can be abused. It's just how they use this life given to them, and the Clan cats see that as "all kittypets are lazy, stupid, and are wimps". It's a rule that supports discrimination without even beforehand experience. Pinestar became a kittypet because he couldn't take what was going around him in the Clan. That doesn't make him any less of an honorable warrior, as long as he keeps the good parts of the code in mind, like Ravenpaw. Same thing goes for *literally every single cat in the world* They don't have to consciously think "oh, I'm following the code, I'm a good rule-abiding cat". It's just a matter of nobility.
I 100% agree! When Firepaw joined ThunderClan, ACTIVELY REJECTING a kittypet life, which is IN THE CODE, he should be treated like a Clan cat yet he got made fun of for being one despite doing what the rest of the Clan cats did (with the exception of Pinestar)
The warrior code is annoying me so much rn because of HOLLYPAW AAAAAA ITS SO ANNOYING FOR ME EVERY TIME SHE THINKS ABOUT THE WARRIOR CODE AAAAAA (I’m on PoT)
And the thing is, all these rules that imply that you can't trust other clans makes no sense when you consider that the clans are basically the same... It'd be one thing if they were all different enough that they had a hard time relating to one another, like different beliefs (maybe they all believe in Starclan but the specifics and ways of honoring them are different), different traditions, etc. The Broken Code has POVs in three different clans and yet none of them operate any differently (besides the leaders having different personalities, but the same can be said of one clan across several generations of leaders too). There's no real reason for them to be separate, especially considering, as you said, the books keep drilling in the fact that they all need each other. Do they need each other, or do they need to be separate? Anything that they can accomplish in a "together but separate" way, such as sharing herbs or prey in hard times, or defeating common enemies, can be done without them needing to be separate/rivals. Most conflicts, such as "stealing" prey, fights over territory, etc, can also be solved by them uniting. I don't think the authors are bold enough to go so far as to make them all unify, but I certainly hope they at least make some changes to the code because it's long overdue.
Yeah! I mean, when the Clans were traveling from the old forest to the lake, they were all working together, and a bunch of cats became friends. But when they arrived at the lake and the leaders chose their territories, those friendships had to end, and everything slowly went back to the way it was. I get that they stay in different Clans, but they can still work together. They don't have to have all the battles and rules that make no sense, but I guess the Erins want more drama, and as we all know, you can't have Warriors without drama.
Also considering they started as one group from the mountains that split off and added members over time; wherever the cats were most comfortable living. DOTC needs to be referenced a lot more in current clan times.
I've always considered code 13 to be more for extreme situations. In the context of there being a large disagreement within the clan, it would make sense for the leader to have the final say. Some people say that the clans should solve everything by vote, but I don't think that would be a good idea. I think it would take away all of the leaders power in decision making, because sometimes fast decisions are needed. If warrior cats were to set up a voting system, this is how I think it should work. 1. In order to take part in clan votes, a cat must have attended at least one gathering. 2. Depending on rank in clan a cat will get more votes - Apprentices, warriors, and non senior medicine cats get 1 each - Elders get 2 votes each - Deputies and most senior medicine cats get 3 each - Clan leaders get 5 This is so there can still be some sort of power structure in the clans 3. Cats are not required to vote, however they must provide a reason to the clan if they are physically able to. 4. The clan leader and depuity can temporally take away a cats voting rights as punishment (both must agree). 5. If the clan leader, depuity, and most senior medicine cats all agree, the voting can be skipped. To be used in extreme situations, such as an active invasion where there isn't time for a vote. - If one of the listed cats is unable to vote in will defer in the following order. - For medicine cats it will go through the list of seniority of other medicine cats. - For leaders and depuitys, or if there are no avliable medicine cats, it goes to the most senior warriors who are able. For example, if the leader and deputity were both unavilibale it would go to the medicine cat and the 2 most senior warriors. Also, explaining the vote counts a little more. It makes sense for warriors and apprentices to have one vote each as they are the lowest rank in the clans. Elders I feel like aren't represented enough in clan politics, and I feel like having an extra vote could be a reward for their lives of service. Finally, I specifically choose 3 for medicine cats and duputies and 5 for clan leaders, becasue they have a combine 11 votes (which is a lot of power). How ever if needed, the deupity + medicine cat can override the clan leader +1. This might be able to help prevent situations like in A Dangerous Path where Bluestar decideds to attack Windclan even when both Fireheart and Cinderpelt thought it was a bad idea.
Ugly Fense, As of the star or Veil of Shadows, ThunderClan has 43 cats not including leader, deputy or medicine cat. That is more than enough to overrule the cats at the top if needed .

I actually re-read the Code Of Clans recently, I'm re-reading all the books before continuing on with the series. And well...the one that involves romance among different clans. The story itself was stupid. Basically, a cat from an opposing clan hesitated in attacking his PREGNANT mate from another clan, during a fight. Keyword, pregnant. The hesitation caused the cat to be killed. Which...first off, there's already a code about not killing, so that was pointless. And second, why...why on earth would they have a pregnant cat in battle? That should have been part of the code instead "Pregnant cats do not have to fight in battle." Instead it was "No romances, because it divides loyalty, someone might die from it." Personally for me, that story was ridiculous.

@@shayladiegomartinez4885 I haven't touched WC in a few years and it took me a while to figure out what my comment was talking about but, still hate her!
I think it's fascinating seeing how much the way the clans interact with one another has changed over the years. All of the code that promotes conflict makes sense for the first series, because it creates an obstacle for Firepaw/heart to overcome in order to help others and defeat Tigerclaw/star. In the more current series (I have no real clue of what's happening because I stopped reading after Bramblestar's Storm), all 5 clans often interact with one another and the number of cross-clan relationships are still increasing. I think (read: hope) the Erins are setting up a revision of the Code with imposter Bramble and the 'codebreakers' (that's what's happening now, right?). Or they're not, but one can hope.
The story in both Code of the Clans and Pinestar's novella for the kittypet rule basically explains it as, "No leader may retire to a life of comfort if they think they are unfit to lead on their last life. All leaders must suffer in an unhappy position whether they like it or not. Because we are jerks."
When your that early you have no idea what to say but you are trying to put a comment that will be noticed because you’re early and to have an early comment....... I’m not sure where I’m going with this comment.
Code 12: In a way, I think the ShadowClan warriors in the third series broke the warrior code by not helping Berrykit- he was still a kit. I think the warrior code should extend to all kits.
The one about not hunting for sport or wasting food reminds me of The Guardians of Ga'Hoole. There's a group of owls at the tree who hunt to eat and don't torment prey. They had a new owl at the tree, and they realized something was wrong with her--she was aligned with the villains--when they found her torturing a vole she'd hunted. She was literally playing with her food and finding enjoyment in its torment, not hunting because she needed something to eat.
I feel like this would be a much better Warrior cats. The clans are split only by their traits. Fast cats live on the moor. Swift swimmers live in the marsh. Stealthy cats live in the shadows. Good climbers live in the forest. If at cat is born into a clan but they don’t fit the trait, they may leave as they please. Relationships between cats of different clans are completely allowed. The kits of the two cats stay with their mother, and when they are apprentices it is decided themselves where they want to stay. The life of a kitty pet is feared, but not looked down upon. If a cat wishes to live an easy life above living with their kin, so be it. It is completely illegal to harm or ignore a kit in danger, along with any vulnerable cat. You don’t need to go above and beyond to help someone, just at least put them out of danger. The leaders word is not law and may be disrespected or disagreed with. A power hungry leader or deputy can be chased out by the clan. Gatherings are held once every full moon for cats to mingle and share news. The leaders do not run the gatherings. That’s all I can think of now. I might edit this and add more
I think the rule on checking the borders is important in the sense of patrolling for other predators like foxes, dogs, twolegs, etc. If the clans become more integrated, then checking/having borders between clans loses its point, but there could still be outside threats
I wrote this for my Warriors series. Figured I’d share it cuz we’re a community here. I wonder what the Hunters would think. The WildClan Warrior Code: A cat may only have one mate and must remain loyal to them and any futures kits they have. A cat must never abandon their mate when they are expecting kits. A cat must never hunt beyond WildClan’s territory. A cat must never hunt and kill prey for sport or fun. A cat must never kill and waste prey. Food must be given to queens, elders, kits, and apprentices in training first. All food must be split amongst clan cats during times of famine. A cat must never fight alone without the aid of their clan mates. A cat must never leave the safety of camp without the presence or permission of a clan deputy or clan leader. A cat must always obey a clan deputy or clan leader no matter the order given. A cat must always defend and fight for their territory even at the cost of their life. Queens, kits, and apprentices in training must be protected during battles to ensure the future survival of the clan. Apprentices begin training at five moons but become full apprentice at six moons. All newly appointed warriors must swear an oath before beginning their vigil to watch over their clan. A cat must never attack or kill other cats who mean no harm. A cat must always resist the tempting soft life of a kittypet. All deceased cats must be buried in the clan’s ancestral burial grounds following a burial ceremony.
i feel like medicine cats should be allowed to have mates as long as they don’t get in the way of their role. kits might distract them quite a bit, but even then, they can either have someone fill in for them or another queen take care of it until they don’t need milk anymore.
I was playing a game as a kit in warriors (warriors game) And the leader tried to kill me Then one of the cats just said thats against the code He didnt care and still tried to kill me So the cats yeeted him outta the clan
I know this is the medicine cat code but my friend and I think that medicine cats should be able to have kits if there's another med-cat with them, but if you have three only one can have kits but warrior cats was written how it was
I personally think having separate clans in itself is dumb, as it separates the cats to such an extreme that that fight over small things. Meanwhile the tribe does fine as one group, with one leader. I think that in order to truly thrive, the clans need to all meet together as one, as they did in the battle against blood clan and the dark forest. However the main reason I feel like that did that is because tension=drama=plot and development I feel like cats should have a vote as to who becomes leader, and should be able to challenge and overthrow an unjust leader. There shouldn't be just one leader. Instead of being separate, those who have certain skills work with others of similar skill groups to do what they do best. And they can change and train in different skill groups if they wish. Basically, kitty communism would work best.
Warrior cats logic: If we don’t have every cat mixing with other clans, we can’t dread battling with them My logic: IF YOU’RE MIXING WITH OTHER CLANS, THERE WON’T BE A BATTLE!!!
The clans: All the clans are important! The woods need feral cats, if one clan falls, we all DiE for reasons that are never, nor ever will be explained. Also the clans: Hey! you breathed our air! Stop breathing (insert clan name) air or we'll come over there, breathe your air, and while we're at it,make your clan stop breathing all together!
I love this video but I have to disagree on one thing: I think keeping the clan separated is good if one clan is out of food it's not the other clans fault and if one clan goes on other clans territory then they can take all their pray (but anyway I'm still a sub and i liked this video please dont hate me ;-;)
1:28 This happened with berrynose, when he lost his tail, shadowclan warriors stood outside the border and watched him suffer. He probably would not have lost his tail if the shadowclan warriors came ans told him to go back home.
I hope the one day JUST ONE DAY, we will have a good leader who will go against star clan, change the warrior codes bad codes, make truce with all the clans and ACTUALLY. DOESN'T. ACT. LIKE. A. SELFISH. POWER HUNGRY. EVIL. CAT!
If the warrior or medicine cat code doesnt change I'll scream so loud no ones ears will be safe Also I wonder how annoyed clear sky is, he, after accepting he was ruling with his own fear, he didnt want ANY boundaries, BUT H E R E W E A R E
to be fair, most likely yes, but if I dont follow my leader, im basically making star clan feel bad for giving the lives to them, but if I do, starclan would be mad but if I Don't my leader my leader might exile me, but if I do, I might get exiled
In code 2 and code 11, I’d say it’s half bad and half good. The half being what you said and the other being that stronger clans can trespass on a weaker clans territory if that rule didn’t exist.
The "medicine cats cannot take a mate or have kits" rule is honestly stupid. I've given this reasoning a lot, so here we go. In Moth Flight's Vision, Moth Flight is prophesied to be the first medicine cat. Then she met Micah, SkyClan's new medicine cat, and had his kits after he dies. So here, we have a young queen who's barely older than an apprentice with no mate to support her. That's strike one. She winds up having four kits, which is a big litter for a first-time mother, so that's strike two. And Moth Flight LITERALLY KNEW NOTHING ABOUT HERBS AND HAD NO ONE ELSE HELPING HER IN HER DUTIES WHILE SHE CARED FOR HER KITS! Hence, strike three. She made the rule after Acorn Fur told her that she and Red Claw were hoping to become mates, and Moth Flight, being traumatized after she gave up her kits to the other four Clans, made the rule because the situation was hard on her. Moth Flight was a young queen with no experience nor help in her medicine cat duties, who was caring for a large litter with no mate and barely any help from her own Clan because Micah was technically SkyClan. That's why the rule is stupid. The rule should be "Medicine cats are not allowed to take a mate unless they have an apprentice or mentor to take over their duties for a short time", and that's just for female medicine cats. Sorry for the long post, have a potato 🥔
I agree ! Plus with the actual context of the clan the Mothwing situation would probably be unlikely to happen again. Now the clan have full time nursery queens ready to look after the kit (Like Daisy). And we know that clans can lend themselves medecine cats to help out (Like when Leafpool helped in Shadowclan for 2 moons to train Puddlepaw or when Fidgetflake stayed a few days in Riverclan). So even if there is a situation where a female medecine cat has to look after her kits (because they are very young) and can't handle a medical emergency she can still call another medecine cat for help. Another justification for this rule is favoritsm. Some cats thought that if medecine cats had kits or mate they would favor them over other cats if they need to be healed. And while it's possible it's still stupid. It's not like medecine cat would only favor their kits and mate , they could very well favor their parents , litter mates or friends over other cat (So it's not a kits or mate problem). Like , can you imagine Alderheart not favoring Twigbranch over Berrynose ? Honestly , while it's a bit more unpractical for medecine cat to have kits than warrior I think its pretty manageable anyway
Also the code that says that cats can’t go into other clan territories is stupid because medicine cats may need to go from clan territory to clan territory to find the herbs they need
I had a comment to make *And I forgot* Aside from that, most of the bad ones are made in bad situations or out of lack of thinking of the consequence of the future. Maybe in the first series the warrior code encouraging antagonism is fine, due to medicine cats not even knowing other camps, but now, with everything wide open, it doesn't make sense.
I had an idea: What if cats are allowed to come and go through different ‘territories’ as they please, but only if the leader believes they have honoured the warrior code (that hasn’t been removed). The medicine cats are allowed to have kits if there are queens or other medicine cats to help take the work off of them. Otherwise kits are a no go.

Oh I never thought about it that way.
It’s sad that the best rule was “don’t murder people” (and the second and third are don’t watch children die/ don’t send children to war)

Code 12: In a way, I think the ShadowClan warriors in the third series broke the warrior code by not helping Berrykit- he was still a kit. I think the warrior code should extend to all kits.
It does. They did indeed break it.
I think the two stupidest warrior code rules is code 1 that cats can't love another cat from another clan and medicine cats can't have kits

Guardians of Ga'hoole was so cool
I might edit this and add more
I really hope the Warrior and Med code get rewritten in the Broken Code. I mean, it would be silly if it dosent.

The WildClan Warrior Code:
A cat may only have one mate and must remain loyal to them and any futures kits they have.
"Number 15. Code 14"
My brain at 3 am: *error*

i feel like medicine cats should be allowed to have mates as long as they don’t get in the way of their role. kits might distract them quite a bit, but even then, they can either have someone fill in for them or another queen take care of it until they don’t need milk anymore.
I was playing a game as a kit in warriors (warriors game)
And the leader tried to kill me
Then one of the cats just said thats against the code
He didnt care and still tried to kill me
So the cats yeeted him outta the clan
Warrior code: The leaders word is the code!
The leader: Nobody follow the code
Starclan: ...
If you were in warrior cats what will your name be and your clan ? My name will be lavender sky in thunder clan and me a dupudy
I mend I am a dupudy
Ill be mintpaw, skyclan she-cat with dark brown fur and a blue eyes
I know this is the medicine cat code but my friend and I think that medicine cats should be able to have kits if there's another med-cat with them, but if you have three only one can have kits but warrior cats was written how it was
I personally think having separate clans in itself is dumb, as it separates the cats to such an extreme that that fight over small things. Meanwhile the tribe does fine as one group, with one leader. I think that in order to truly thrive, the clans need to all meet together as one, as they did in the battle against blood clan and the dark forest. However the main reason I feel like that did that is because tension=drama=plot and development
I feel like cats should have a vote as to who becomes leader, and should be able to challenge and overthrow an unjust leader. There shouldn't be just one leader. Instead of being separate, those who have certain skills work with others of similar skill groups to do what they do best. And they can change and train in different skill groups if they wish. Basically, kitty communism would work best.
Warrior cats logic: If we don’t have every cat mixing with other clans, we can’t dread battling with them
My logic: IF YOU’RE MIXING WITH OTHER CLANS, THERE WON’T BE A BATTLE!!!

:3
Also the code that says that cats can’t go into other clan territories is stupid because medicine cats may need to go from clan territory to clan territory to find the herbs they need
I had a comment to make
*And I forgot*
Aside from that, most of the bad ones are made in bad situations or out of lack of thinking of the consequence of the future. Maybe in the first series the warrior code encouraging antagonism is fine, due to medicine cats not even knowing other camps, but now, with everything wide open, it doesn't make sense.
is breaking the code same as committing war crimes in vienna, austria at 16:55:42, 2017?
Congratulations on 100K Akira!! ^^
1:37 i was roleplaying with people in warrior cats ulltimate edition and they killed a thunderclan newborn kit
This should help during my next rp lol, I’ll try to remember these.
we talked about the warrior code? but what about the medicine cat code?
