Thank you for your kind words and I'm happy to hear the tutorial was so helpful! 🙏 + General Forecasts - the tool will only show specific numbers on accounts that have active campaign's spending money. Thank You Jason for the explanation. My question to you is; In order to finalize on a given keyword from the list, what all parameters should be we consider, and what's the priority order of those defined parameter lists?
Buyer vs descriptive keywords. The closer the keyword is to representing someone who is actively looking to buy something, the higher priority it should be.
Hi Jason, Thank you for been short and simple. Really appreciate. Wanted to ask you if you have a tutorial for bloggers to find best keywords with some planning tools? Thank you for the great video man! I have watched tens of videos and this is by far the best One question if I may ask, in plan overview the estimated number of clicks is for a month or for a day?
I'm concerned with the relevancy of the keyword and not so much what Google thinks the value of the keyword is. So choose the keywords that look to be the most relevant to your offer and then run your own campaigns to see how they perform
Keywords that represent people looking for professional painters. When setting up your campaign, make sure you are very focused with the location settings to stretch your budget in the right area. Try terms like 'commercial' or 'residential' to focus in on a particular segment of the market
Very useful and well explained thanks Jason! Any tips for setting up a campaign on getting people to download a free to play racing game (it will be on both mobile and desktop) ?
What would you suggest the bid price to be ? Should i use the top page bid figures both in the keyword planner? Should i Follow your budget that i am comfortable with which they provided ?
Follow a budget and bid you are comfortable with. Remember that Google is giving you suggestions, but they also benefit from you spending more. It's an inherent conflict of interest to keep in mind... If you have the budget, go for the first page bids. You can always increase your bid to top of page after you know which keywords are worth it.
Thank you so much ! The best tutorial - clear , precise and visual! If May I ask for a crucial question : I have a major budget problem with me kw (over € 20 per day - targeting for one city only for not expensive kw ) due to the relevance of my kw with the text on my adv. ..Really lost - changing also the text this does not help....how can I make relevant kw and reach a high quality score of my ads?thx a lot !!
Quality score is a combination of your ad copy and landing page. Changing up your ad copy didn't work, then it sounds like your landing page (the page your sending traffic too) may be the issue. See what the pages look like and try to figure out what you can do to your own page to make Google happier with it.

Ok so I may have missed something here, so apologies If you've discussed this and I've gotten confused. I've used the Google Keyword Planner to find two similar keywords within my niche, which have the same amount of monthly views. One of them has High competition and the other has low competition. The keyword with low Competition has a higher cpc value, which seems counter intuitive to me. Surely something with less competition would result in you needing a lower bid to rank for it? Or is this simply people putting their CPC settings too high historically resulting in them paying too much? I feel like I'm missing something
I would recommend ignoring the 'competition' column all together and put your focus on the estimated CPC in that instance. Really the estimates are off by so much; I'd recommend going with both keywords and see what it actually does IRL
@@JasonAWhaling Ah ok. I'd ascertain from that that Google Keywords Planner doesn't update very often. Good advice though thanks, I guess it gives me some first hand experience of how lucrative said Keyword is for my purposes :)
Hey Jason, what are your thoughts on inputting the website URL on the 'Find New Keywords' page, as opposed to manually entering 2-3 key words as you did?
I like the keyword method because it keeps me focused on the user as opposed to what other websites might be bidding on. Nothing wrong with trying it... just remember to focus on your ideal customer and what they might be typing in; not getting caught up in what other companies keywords might be
I am trying to use it for free, is that an option? It makes me create an ad first. Is there an option to not? I read it can be used for free. Thank you
hey jason , i am running a campaign already in google but when i use the keyword planner its NOT giving me search volume rather just search range....why is this?? I know and was told you have to be advertising with google in order to get search volume
This just means you haven't spent enough $$ yet 😓.... because of abuse in the past, the exact data will only come through after you've spent money on campaigns. Until then, your stuck with the approximate rages.
Yes, you need to add billing and you may even have to create a dummy campaign real quick and turn it on for a few bucks..... Then you'll get all the sweet, sweet search data 😆
Low search volume is okay if you're getting in front of the right people. You may need to find more keywords if the volume, is really, really low, but typically as long as you are targeting the right person, it's okay if that "right person" only shows up a few times a month.
Jason Whaling what about targeting keywords with better volume in a parent topic, say ‘accounting software’ then attaching that to a niche like ‘accounting software for physiotherapists’. Or will that fail?
I'd try your low volume keywords first... Before burning your budget on more general search terms... Remember it's all about user intent and getting your idea customer, even if that means you only get a few clicks per month... That's better than a bunch of non-targeted clicks 👍
Hey bro i find keyword resesrch for google ads most hard. Whats the best way to do keyword rsearch without paid tool? In the video you mentioned some tips but is there an easy way?

If you choose a product that has low monthly searches, you can still go after it. Just know that there are hardly going to be any clicks which means it will take a very long time to optimize your campaign.... Trends would make more sense for looking at what to use FB ads for.... the Audience insights tool and looking at competitors ads would be more relevant to Facebook though.
Jason - this is great! One question: what are your thoughts on using something like TubeBuddy and their unweighted/weighted system to determine keywords/phrases to utilize? I find many times they will say a keyword/phrase is "not good" i.e. "how to train at home" or something like that, but there are only so many ways people might search that topic. Thoughts?
I completely ignore it - that's just me. I don't like relying on data when I don't understand how it's being collected or calculated. it's true there are only so many keywords; so when you find a longer search phrase; I'd say just go for it!
@@JasonAWhaling okay and thanks for confirming. It was beginning to feel a bit pigeonholed by basing topics and keywords/phrased on what TB was ranking. much appreciated!
I don't have a course; but do have some more free training on getting your Search ads up and running... Google Ads Tutorial 2020: ruclips.net/p/PLCTo1pVEZ5UJsH1jfBuz2tdDh907CbCh6
Hi Jason, a question regarding the keyword research tool: When you enter a keyword and receive the metrics of average search volume (and the rest) is that for EXACT match or BROAD/PHRASE? Lets say for 'keyword A' google says 25k monthly searches, is Google saying 25k searches for 'keyword A' and similar or exactly 'keyword A'? I'm having suspicion that its my first opinion, which means that the data provided is not really a true representation for that keyword... Google is playing us on unless we specific EXACT match.... ? Hopefully you can clarify my doubts Thank you,
Your suspension is correct 😲.... This is why keyword planner is really just a suggestion for where to start. You can try searching match types to see if you can get data on them..... Only works sometimes
If i want to do affiliate marketing through my fb page by posting affiliate links, wouldn’t that be a mix of ppc and seo since i need to drive traffic to my page?
Great question! Because I know that there is so much more to do and learn. I have no problem giving all the information away on how to get started because I want people who want to figure it out themselves to be successful. Most of our clients and have large budgets and aren't interested in learning everything themselves.
It seems that search volume is shown irrespective of location. It shows the same result even if the location is changed. Now suppose I want to target the PPC service in Canada. The search volume for "PPC service" is "480" but for "PPC service Canada" is "0". Then which keyword should I target?
As long as your setting your geo-targeting in your campaign settings you can try targeting both. Even though keyword planner is showing you no results one of the searches, it's still worth a try.
@@JasonAWhaling Again Jason, thank you for your feedback. The keywords were not already in the account. I'll try to make a new ad campaign and then try the keyword planner again.
You may not have that level of data if you just started advertising. If you add a credit card and run a bit of traffic the detailed stats should show up...but what is most important is how relevant you think the keywords are to your product/service. It's okay if you have to make your decisions just based upon the relative range Google gives you in the beginning.
Since I use Google Ads, I've already done those steps before the training in the video. You may be required to do that when creating your account, but you don't have to run ads to use the tool. You'll just have a little less exact data until you start actually running ads.
😅you caught me! That was a mistake just for recording the tutorial. You'll defiantly want to check out both when doing your keyword research... sorry for the confusion.

ty
If you choose a product that has low monthly searches, you can still go after it. Just know that there are hardly going to be any clicks which means it will take a very long time to optimize your campaign.... Trends would make more sense for looking at what to use FB ads for.... the Audience insights tool and looking at competitors ads would be more relevant to Facebook though.
What keywords for phone accessories?
Start with the keyword "phone accessories" and that should give you a long list of keywords to start analyzing.
When would you use broad match?
For very specific keywords, like "Locksmith Seattle WA" but not for a keyword like "Locksmith" 👍
Great video buddy! Do you have a course of complete training on google adwords?
I don't have a course; but do have some more free training on getting your Search ads up and running...

@@JasonAWhaling thank you so much bud. Greetings from Greece 🇬🇷
Hi Jason, a question regarding the keyword research tool:
When you enter a keyword and receive the metrics of average search volume (and the rest) is that for EXACT match or BROAD/PHRASE?
Lets say for 'keyword A' google says 25k monthly searches, is Google saying 25k searches for 'keyword A' and similar or exactly 'keyword A'?
I'm having suspicion that its my first opinion, which means that the data provided is not really a true representation for that keyword... Google is playing us on unless we specific EXACT match.... ?
Hopefully you can clarify my doubts
Thank you,
Your suspension is correct 😲.... This is why keyword planner is really just a suggestion for where to start.
You can try searching match types to see if you can get data on them..... Only works sometimes
What role does impression share play in choosing keywords?
I wouldn't give any weight to it until your actually running ads.
Jason Whaling we are currently running ads. Thanks so much for replying and for the great video!
If i want to do affiliate marketing through my fb page by posting affiliate links, wouldn’t that be a mix of ppc and seo since i need to drive traffic to my page?
I think it would be a mix of traffic types to your site, but Landing/sales pages are normally just PPC or traffic from a SEO optimized content post.
Jason Whaling thanks for quick reply
I'm a new subscriber, but just out of curiosity why would you teach (for Free) how to manage PPC, if you are a PPC agency that needs clients?
Great question! Because I know that there is so much more to do and learn. I have no problem giving all the information away on how to get started because I want people who want to figure it out themselves to be successful. Most of our clients and have large budgets and aren't interested in learning everything themselves.
Jason Whaling Bless you.
Liking all your vids literally, any way to reach you on any social media?
Comments are the best place. I still read and reply to all new ones..... Commenting on my vlogs is best when you have questions 👍
@@JasonAWhaling oh alright, wanted to ask how I could get clients to help with their Google ads
Did you only add 1 keyword inside of an ad group for demo purposes? Because you say it’s best to have 3-5 keywords per ad group?
Yes, only added one keyword for the Google Ads keyword planner demo. Your right to have 3 to 4 👍
Again, very helpfull video Jason. However, When I click "add to plan" nothing happens with me. Have you encountered this bug?
Very strange..... I have not had this issue before. Unless the KY is already where you are trying to add it, but that doesn't sound like the issue.
@@JasonAWhaling Again Jason, thank you for your feedback. The keywords were not already in the account. I'll try to make a new ad campaign and then try the keyword planner again.
Nice
Good luck with your keywords search 🚀
Hi, I don’t have Search volume trends bars and I don’t have blue graph on the right side of Avg. monthly search. Do you know why? Thanks.
You may not have that level of data if you just started advertising. If you add a credit card and run a bit of traffic the detailed stats should show up...but what is most important is how relevant you think the keywords are to your product/service. It's okay if you have to make your decisions just based upon the relative range Google gives you in the beginning.
Do I have to be an adwords or adsense user to access this tool?
Yes, you need to have Google ads account, but you don't have to spend money to start using the tool.
Did it make you set up an ad to or just enter your payment information?
Since I use Google Ads, I've already done those steps before the training in the video. You may be required to do that when creating your account, but you don't have to run ads to use the tool. You'll just have a little less exact data until you start actually running ads.
I was told by a google help agent that I need more keywords than 5. How do I know if that is that true?
NO - Please don't take your advice from a rep; they really don't know what they are doing. Keep your ad groups small.
@@JasonAWhaling I see. Thanks for the tip!
can i use this method to find keyword for my videos
I would suggest following the SEO trick I showed for finding SEO keywords. Just do it on RUclips instead of Google search👍
what is top of page bid.......?
That is how much you'd have to pay to have your ad at the top of the first page of Google search results for that keyword.
Do you have the link on how to write your ads ?
Yes! Check out this full Google Ads tutorial on how to write your ads:
Ultimate RUclips Ads Tutorial 2018: ruclips.net/video/DF8S94QxqQc/видео.html
By the way where is that link announced on the video?
All the links are in the description.... If your looking for a specific one, feel free to comment again with what your looking for.
You are not in inkognito mode when you see the related keywords
😅you caught me! That was a mistake just for recording the tutorial. You'll defiantly want to check out both when doing your keyword research... sorry for the confusion.
Why do you talk sooooo fast! LOL
😅 Sorry about that; I geek out a bit too much at times. Thank you for the feedback
Way outdated!!
Newer version already up!
