    I wanted the prime x as a training shoe. The reason for that is that i hear more and more talk about benefits of training in "super shoes" like better restitution, that helps you get ready for your next run and building weekly milage

    Adidas is king of the baffling upper design. It's taken me all summer to master the fit and lacing of the Pro 3 (putting my shoes on hasn't been this tricky since primary school) but the Superblast just goes on, laces up and disappears.

      The adios pro 3 dug into my feet something awful and the top lace loop would have a death grip on my upper foot. The fabric feels like sandpaper and there is nothing in the way of cushioning whatsoever. It’s a fast shoe but a horribly unformfotsble one. The adios 7 and 8 are probably the only reason I’m sticking with adidas. They just aren’t confortable shoes at all.

    Took the PX2S on a long run today (14.3 miles/23km) in hot SoCal. My plan was 17~18 miles but the 90-degree (32C) heat made me shorten the run. Despite being quite fatigued from a 10-mile trail run yesterday in the same amount of heat, I averaged 8:17/mile (5:08/km) for the distance with the PX2S. After 32.6 miles in three runs over five days, I have to say that I'm very happy with the PX2S and has certainly exceeded my lowered expectations. The weight doesn't bother me that much although it does drag on my feet when I try to pick up the pace to around 6:00/mile (3:44/km) or faster.
    My feet and legs feel fresh after this long run although the heat did make it somewhat grueling. Still, I was able to maintain an average HR of 139 through the run due to the PX2S's efficiency and being able to go faster with less effort. The PX2S just may be the ultimate long distance cruiser I've been searching for. Of the three other long run candidates in my collection, the PXS v1 normally makes me run faster than I want, Adios Pro 3 has upper comfort issues that may flare up at any moment during a run, and the GlideRide 3 is good but boring. The PX2S isn't as exciting as the PXS v1, but it's more stable and steady for locking in a set pace and just cruise.
    The extra weight just seems to tick me along, kind of like a pendulum swinging back-and-forth on my feet. Once I lock in a steady pace, I don't even notice the weight. I only notice it when I try to pick up the pace that's substantially faster but, even then, it isn't bad. At 9.9oz (281g) for my US size 8, the weight really isn't as bad as I expected. Based on what I've been reading/seeing in the reviews, I was expecting it to be around 10.5oz or more. Also, this US size 8 (my normal TTS) feels too roomy and loose for me so I plan to try a pair half-size down. I have to wear double thick socks to get a good snug fit. Half-size down should work with my thin socks and also bring the weight down another 0.3oz or maybe even more, which would be very nice.
    I find the PX2S more comfortable in the upper than the Boston 12. As for the ride, the Boston 12 is definitely snappier and more nimble but, for cruising at a moderate set pace for long distances, I find the PX2S much more enjoyable. If it wasn't so hot today, I could easily have run 5~6 more miles and hit 20 miles with the PX2S. I'm sure I'll try the Superblast eventually. It's just not a shoe I can fit into my rotation right now.
    Also, as I've mentioned many times, I just can't stand any of the Superblast's colorways. To me, it's not an attractive looking shoe to begin with and those colorways are a total eyesore to me. Why can't ASICS just do a simple all-white or black with white midsole? Boring, yes, but certainly better than the colorways they have now. For me, anyway... Alphafly 2 is a shoe that has never interested me but I'd like to try the v3 when it becomes available early next year.
    For now, I'm totally satisfied with the PX2S. I look forward to trying it half-size down as the TTS is just a little too loose for me. I had to stop several times during the runs to lace them up tighter but, once locked down, they felt great. I really love how fresh my legs and feet are feeling right now after the 14-mile run at a decent pace - no soreness anywhere whatsoever.
    The PX2S isn't what it was initially hyped up to be but it certainly isn't as bad as some are making it out to be - definitely not for me. It has exceeded my reconfigured expectations and actually surpasses the PXS v1 in some ways. Not having to be as mindful or conscious about stability when turning corners, jumping on/off sidewalks, dodging potholes or cambered surfaces, going downhill, etc. as I've always been with the v1 is actually a lot nicer than I thought it'd be. It does make the running experience better in a way I didn't expect. So, a big thumbs-up for the PX2S for me. It's still early but it fits in nicely and complements the v1 and my other Adizero shoes very well. Of course, I fully understand that some others will hate it, including those who love the v1. The PX2S is just a different beast altogether.

      I agree very much! I was so suprised to see that i ran alot faster than i intented and still my heart rate was low:) For me the shoe is incredible! I also used the Asics GlideRide 3 as my primary long run shoe. So good, but very very boring. The PSX2 is the new long run shoe for me now

    • @alexkhan2000
      @alexkhan2000 Год назад

      @@EDDBUD Maybe this sizing matter is more prevalent with the smaller sizes. Robbe at BITR said that the sizing was way off (too big) for him. My TTS just feels a little too roomy in the forefoot/toe-box area although still comfortable with thick double socks, which I shouldn't have to do.

    • @alexkhan2000
      @alexkhan2000 Год назад +1

      @@thomasmidtskogsterlund7052 Yes, I was also surprised by how low my HR was even though I saw the pace was a good deal faster than I thought I was running. It's a very fun ride through the long runs. Kept me engaged as I enjoyed the bounce and the propulsion.
      Totally agree about the GlideRide 3 - so boring that I could probably fall asleep during a run in it. Haha. It's a good solid shoe but there's no bounce at all and you just roll through the gait cycle. The PX2S is bouncy, exciting, fun, solid, and stable at the same time. It has become *the* long run for me as well. Happy running!

    The World Arhletics regulation has a diagram of how a shoe is measured, and it draws the line to the ground, not center channel. So i think its fair to say that wasnt the way Nike got around it with the Alphafly. My guess is that since the regulations check a EU42 size, your larger size isn't one that is measured, so Nike is generous with extra foam.

    I recently converted over to Xero Zelle “barefoot” shoes up to 13 miles. My “long distance” shoe is now the adios 7. So the prime x are in a different planet as far as stack heights are concerned for me. Also the Xero Zelen is such a game changer. I’m using muscles I never used before and I feel totally locked in to my run and paying attention to the ground feel of my runs - something you lose in these super stack shoes.

      Interesting. I’m not sure I could use those on my local routes. Too much dangerous debris.

    Can I use Mach 5 for 10k daily run?
    Currently using it for 5k, I'm 55kg.

      Don’t see why not. It’s light and nimble enough.

      Yes. You can also run whatever you distance you want in any shoe you want.
