Many, many thanks!@@peakfiddler For too long now, I've wanted to re-hair my bow and get back into this beautiful music. You've just helped me get there! My Best to You, Jeff
dear peakfiddler, i just " stumbled over " this breathtaking tune a few days ago by chance.... looking for something awesome to present to my fiddle-teacher. and i found it!!!! 💖i never heard about tam-lin before. your play is that wonderful and touching it cut right deep into my heart and changed my days since then! i listen to it over and over again " inhaling " every single note of the melody. had been thrown back through the centuries as if i stood side by side with the young maiden and tam-lin. thank you from the depth and core of my being for this overwhelming performance. yours sincerely susan
Thank you Susanne for your wonderful comment. Funnily enough I re recorded TamLin on my recent EP that I released late last year. So I think you will easily find that on Spotify. Just search peakfiddler. Best wishes and happy Fiddle playing - Peak
I always do appreciate your nice clean versions of tunes. By clean I mean you play them in a way I can play with you on tin whistle: I'd never heard tunes 2 and 4 in this set but could hit most of the main notes in rhythm on the second time through. I don't sound GOOD, but next time I hear the tune I'd be able to play it in a session. Thank you!
That's a real tour de force! Very useful to have the (right) The Session links for each. The B part of Old Man Dillan seems to have a few bars very similar to Drummond Castle, which I hadn't clockef before.
@@iceomistar4302 well, it's not. Also, even if this is a bow technique, the violin hold is not right. However, since he makes good music and feels comfortable holding it this way then it's totally fine. no offense was meant.
@@mouradeid5457 He would have trouble with advanced classical techniques, but no problem if he's happy and people like what he does. I can claim to have a "correct" technique but I don't sound half as good as him.

Hi Sara, The tunes are - Out on the Ocean - Old Man Dillan - Father O'Flynn - Health to the Ladies. I left links in the video description, where you can find the sheet music.
@@peakfiddler Thanks for the reply , I have begun an omega 3 diet last week it has helped greatly. My old man has given me an acoustic guitar to learn on first and I think he is right in saying learn some basics on this before deciding if you want to learn the fiddle. Ok, so this might just be a fiddle thing, and I'm only playing fiddle pieces for a competition (I'm more of a Classical music guy, and plays in an Orchestra) but to me, your posture and bow hold looks awful.
Well, the only competition I think you should be in is playing noughts and crosses. With a name like Susan and being a classical music guy who claims to play in an orchestra I think you are in no position to make that awful comment.
The only thing that matters is the sound. This technique nonsense is out of date. Same nonsense was peddled in sport. Then that myth was truly busted because everyone should develop a playing style that suits them.
