Little fun fact: the two children that Grog play with are voice by Laura herself and her son Ronin, and whit Travis also in the scene is kind of a family playday, that just super wholesome
Ronin has also said he’s in their campaign and is a dragon 😂
It’s adorable
But Ronin is a baby and cannot possibly be old enough to speak... oh. Curse you, time.
@@AmazingChithat was my reaction as well apparently he’s already 6 years old. In 10 years or so he will go to college already, wtf…
@@danzansandeev6033 12 years, maybe 10 if he skips a couple grades and if he goes right after highschool but still...ill be...oh i dont want to think about that...
@@vex2788 well you get what I mean, time flies
People seem to have missed the Objection joke. Sam Riegel voices Phoenix Wright
OMG, that's right! 😂
As an Ace Attorney Fan I was very Happy.
I've already lost count of the little Easter eggs like that haha you know you've watched too much when u see them first time round
I can’t believe I forgot lmao
Dr. Dranzel's song was about Jester's mom....listen to the end credits.
Jester's mom has got it goin on...
Jester's mom, Fjord tested, Fjord approved.
The Ruby of the Sea is the best lay ever
There have been a lot of great songs in the credits. Would always keep them running.
So glad Adam recognised the name Zerxus. I'm still freaking out over it lol.
I didn't make the connection... had to look it up just now. 🤯
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH I AM SO HYPE THE BRASS RING ENDURES LETS GOOOOOOO!!!
Another thing everyone is missing is, for those that watched the campaign, when Scanlan stumbles out of the bar, that is the old moldy tankard he had that kick started the whole Sam Riegel Props bit
Right? I loved it!
Yes, Adam, yes. THAT Zerxus.
I had to think that one over for a minute, I’ve only seen C1 and Calamity. Holy fucking shit.
If Brennan Lee “The Fuck” Mulligan shows up this season in some capacity I’m gonna lose it.
OH! I had to google the name... I missed that completely!
@@davidbergfors6820 yeah, that certainly was an incredibly unexpected name to pop up out of nowhere 😅
@@PhoenixPalmer88 it's entirely possible a wild Asmodeus might appear...
The song was about the Ruby of the Sea, Jester's mom. Listen to the end credits
Sam Riegel being the voice of Phoenix Wright makes that "Objection" moment so great
11:17 Adam, Zerxus sounds familiar cause he’s Luis’s character from Calamity!
The fact that they’re adding new Calamity lore into the preexisting campaign makes me so happy, cause that means the Ring of Brass really does endure
Like, I LOST my MIND when they said that name!!! I can't even beleive it.
@@SethRGray I had to rewind it and watch it again to make sure my ears were NOT deceiving me! Then you get these 2 and the Bolo jokes... Calamity hilarity. I was sure Adam would get it once I knew for sure he'd seen Calamity. Jay seemed shocked but too engrossed to really process what name was dropped. But, in all likelihood, I'm pretty certain Luis Carazo is voicing Zerxus in one of the coming episodes! I'm excited! Is it Thursday yet??
@@missaring9456yeah, Luis has been confirmed to be in the cast for this season but people didn't know what character he was going to voice... if it was going to be like a random NPC or not... But clearly this is leading up to him voicing Zerxes, which is exciting.
I’ve had the Ruby of the Sea song stuck in my head since the episodes were released. It’s catchy as hell. I cannot wait to see Zerxus as he is now. This season is going to *hurt* and I’m here for it.
I like that they gave Ripley the Killmonger argument. I don't recall her having any real motivation in the campaign, other than personal power.
Also the pseudo sexual obsession with Percy is just perfection.
The only inclination we got towards her greater motivation were the names on her pepperbox, the only two I can remember were King Dwendel and a member of the Cerberus assembly
"What do I want?" Percy will find out really quick.
We did get a full version of The Ruby song in the credits!
Ripley is the the most “aye I can fix her” of the year
real shit
3:43 yeah, that song is definitely about The Ruby of the Sea.
Fun fact, the human kid that Grog gets the toy gun from is voiced by Ronin Willingham, Travis Willingham and Laura Bailey's son.
Bro I just watched Calamity LAST WEEK. I am NOT ready to see Xerxus again...
Ashley's (Pike's) line readings this episode were hilarious 😅
3:43 Well, Jester isn't born yet I believe, but it is the song about the Ruby. Stick around for the credits and you'll see!
Jay's joke "the city of DEEZ" sent me LMAO
10:01 Yes, Adam, _that_ Xerxus Ilerez.
How come I missed that the demon they are seeking is friggin Zerxus Illerez when I watched the episode.
Fun fact: The little boy at 4:25 is voiced by Ronin, Travis and Laura's six-year-old son.
WTF hes six already?? I started watching CR early C2 so shortly before he was born (iirc THE INCIDENT happened while they were on "parental" leave and I definitely saw that one live)- fuck I feel old now
Gosh, wild how fast kids grow up
@@lagggoat7170 what is the "incident" and why is parental in quotations
@@Nyx_404 1) SPOILER FOR CAMPAIGN 2 YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Mollymauks Death
2) This is my second language and I wasnt sure if it was the correct word, it was just my best guess. Is it parental leave even if its a D&D-Group (turned sidejob)? Where does "D&D as a hobby - happens to be streamed" end and "D&D streaming as a job that happens to be fun" begins?
@@lagggoat7170 okay but why is parental leave in quotations
The little boy was played by Ronin, Laura and Travis's kid, while the girl was played by Laura, and then Travis as Grog, so it was the whole family in a scene.
The "Objection" call back to Sam playing Phoenix Wright in the Ace Attorney games is top notch easter egg. Speaking of Easter Eggs, did you catch that the wooden house next to the Taste of Taldori cup was signed? Go see who made it.
One of the things I love about watching your reaction videos is that I get a second chance to pick up on things that I missed. For instance, excuse me but are we gonna see Zerxus this season?! Now I'm even more hyped! I love the way that they're weaving all of this Exandrian lore together!!!
For those that have seen all three, I think we'd agree this may be a No Good, Very Bad Day for Percy, but that it's worth having for tomorrow's like episode 3. ;-)
That name drop had me so unbelievably excited that I couldn't focus when I watched episode 3
That intro is insane. They’re not stopping the show at the conclave, thank god. I only wonder who they’ll replace HIM with for the show
The face was in the previous release of the intro, a lot of people just missed it because of how hype they were.
Y'all need to start watching the credits!!!
Of course Bolo fell. Like city, like people.
I don't want to spoil it for you guys, but you should know the next episode is going to make you guys laugh so much.
your guys videos are so good and funny and I love that about them!
That look whan "Xerxes"
ExfuckingcusemedidIjusthearthat?
Zerxes LIVES
8:58 lol i learned scanlan is Phoenix Wright
Yes, Adam. THAT Zerxus
regardless of peoples thoughts on guns and whether its a good idea to mass produce them or not there is one GLARING issue with that plan which is that guns mass produced (even if only in part) by Ripley are technically guns mass produced by Orthax.... in other words every single person killed by every single one of those guns would have their soul eaten by Orthax. 😬 There's a quick lil dialogue at the very start of the ep when Percy is just waking up where Orthax and Ripley are talking about that part. Ripley conveniently forgets to mention that little detail in her pitch to Percy later lol
Zerxus my man👀👀👀 wild adaptation choice!!!
The shared look after “dis?” 😂
7:47 don't know why, but my mind jumped to the Parks and Rec cold opening with the broken coffee machine, but with Percy as Leslie Knope
10:05 Having binged eXu:Calamity at keast four times in the last year, my jaw dropped when Zerxus got name dropped. I wanted to see my boy again, but not like this 😭💔
1,000 years later and he's still in the Hells... still separated from Evandrin and Ilias who are out amongst the stars...
...that means Evandrin and Ilias are still searching for a way to save him, 1,000 years later...
...I can't 😭
@@JohnSmith-rm1po 😭💔 hope this maybe ties to something else that may be a final redemption for him in Campaign 3 or a separate miniseries
"I'm not the one who left his son out there for all my devils to find."
4:30 That's Travis and Laura's kid Ronan as the little boy playing and laughing with Grog (his dad)
Scanlan's giant mug. Nice reference.
Oh! Are we gonna get Luis Carazo voicing Xerxes!
...
Not that I'm inordinately excited by that or anything.😶
😈
Pike is cracking me up this season 😂
I’m pretty sure it’s THAT Zerxus, from Calamity, and Sam was reeeeeal cagey during the live event last night as to whether Luis would be voicing him… 👀
I’m positive that Luis was at that Launch Party, off in the room reserved for the voice actors who haven’t made their appearance on the show just yet.
Luis was at the premiere, so I’m hopeful.
UIUIUIUIUI they put Zerxus Ilerez in the show xD NICE xD i wonder they have this and campaign 2 as a show but they also made a movie first rights deal with amazon ...
maybe calamity as movie ?
also i knew Zerxus became a demon but ... i had hope that ... oh boy poor zerxus :(
Fun fact! The boy child is voiced by Ronin Laura and Travis kid. So that scene with grog is even more special.
8:01 wait a second? Was Scanlans tankard, Sam's tankard from the campaign?
You are the first person that I've seen notice that. None of the reactors I've watched have, yet.
@@rexgar0092 I only noticed it this time and it's my 3rd watch, same as the objection being a Phoenix Wright reference for Sam 😂
Lot of Easter eggs next to that Taste of Tal'Dorei goblet.
Bit peeved that Amazon have added ads, having to be quick on the mouse for the full watch alongs...
J'mon!!!!! ALso man the way they're weaving in the later campaigns is so good.
Ah yes Diss, South Norfolk, England it might be raining there for most of the rest of the year. sorry what was that? Oh you ment the city in the Hells of D&D... yer "no coment" but both are down south and as such expensive as hell's.
I am Bolo i want to be reporter
yall aint ready for ep3 haha
I liked the first intro better.
episode 2 and I've been worn down
The best part of Ripley’s evil plan is that she’s actually right in concept, and stopping her doesn’t mean also stopping the endeavor of creating firearms that will allow even a child on a farm to protect themselves from a Goliath raider, or an evil arch mage.
She's not "right in concept". The thing about strong weapons is, if it's strong enough to protect you against seriously dangerous people, then it's strong enough to *make you* a serious danger to others. Like Percy said, you can't prevent the oppressed from becoming the oppressors.
@@IceMetalPunk Not being able to guarantee that an oppressed person who gets the power to protect themselves wont become an oppressor themselves, after they’ve removed their enemy, is not an argument against providing that means of protection to the masses in the first place. Seasons 1 & 2 of Vox Machina showed just how many dangers are out there, and how the vast amount of people have no other protection than general stabby-stabby weapons. People with magic have a massive advantage…but when you have enemies that can literally weaponized the dead, than making certain that people have access to basic hunting & defense firearms is actually a very good idea. In fact (and this is a spoiler for those that haven’t finished the live play of campaign 1) but Percy does take ripley’s plan to heart, and white stone starts mass producing & controled distributing rifles to their version of the Musketeers.
I’m all for a farm girl being given a repeating pistol to protect herself from slavers.
@@IceMetalPunk yes you can. It requires organization and community building prior to the revolution, but the whole oppressed becoming the oppressors bit is propaganda. Just like the addage Money Can't Buy Happiness. It's only true is you assume all people have the same morality and motivations as the capitalist ghouls.
1:44 is it just me, or... Ripley kinda hot?
I think her being voiced by Kelly Hu contributes to that 😅
I don’t understand how the plate was used as a power source if it is a fake. It seems like an oversight in the plot to me.
a good fake would have to be loaded with some magic to get it to pass inspection
I imagine it still had some magic in it to make it a convincing forgery.
@@CallistoTheWarriorQueen If all it takes is a little magic, wouldn’t any magical item work then?
@@joshuagroner6819 I imagine it would have failed if he did what he was supposed to, but he didn't.
I wonder if the transformation that Percy nearly went through is similar to the Judicators in Vasselheim?
FIRST KNIGHT!!!!!!
Yes, put ads at the beginning or end.
Engagement.
Time travel must be real because it must be easter with all these eggs in this episode, I missed Ira and Mister the first time round though, instantly clocked the Ruby of the Sea and the Pock O'Pea though, then Taste and Scanlan's oversized mug, but I popped hard upon hearing Zerxus' name too, surprised the As-hole lets him have such freedom. The kids Grog talks to are voiced by Laura and their son Ronin, at the launch party they had Travis and Laura revealed that he had a cold and also it was difficult to get him to do the lines because he wanted to be a dragon, also they made Matt sing the Ruby of the Sea there too, the VOD's on youtube if you have a spare hour and a half.
Ripley's vision isn't all maniacal it's just too hopeful, and of course the ends never justified the means - also how do you expect the conversation of 'hey remember when I conspired to murder your family and openly tortured you for funsies? How about we work together to mass produce weapons - you can see why Percy has the Oppenheimer-esque fear towards guns reaching a wider spread, Orthax having a hand in it doesn't help.
J'mon's design though, top tier no notes.
and i don’t remember if it was this episode but the Stossmans mention as well had me cracking up. i nearly forgot those goddamn stossmans
Does anyone know into what they were going to "transform" Percy? The soldiers in the background kinda looked like the Judicators from C3, but I thought they were in/from Vasselheim, not Ank'Harel. TIA!!
In the original there were "cobalt golems" which were just enchanted metal constructs, VM had to fight one to prove themselves to J'mon.
Previous intro was also minor.
Interesting we see the Red Moon in the intro. :) I think "Oh my T***" is my favorite saying now.
The "I Object!" is a reference to that one popular lawyer game. I think Sam was the main character on that. No doubt he had to say I Object a few hundred times. PS Sam Riegel has 405 credits on his IMDB (and counting) as an Actor. 91 Additional crew. 24 Casting Director.
Whoop
Would you like to react to Japanese Anime? I'm sure it will be fun
I have to say, this video had too many cuts and the discussion was too brief. It felt more like a slideshow of the episode's highlights than an actual reaction video.
Listen. The most beautiful OP in all of animation? I think it has a real argument. Discuss
Well since you asked, I like the first one much more 😁 I feel like this one is too caught up in its own angst, and the short action bit in the middle against generic dog-creatures is muddled
"The city of des?" waiting for one of you to drop the 🔩
Could see both your faces think it
