Double Trouble: A Geep Doubleheader at NCTM

On a lovely Sunday afternoon in late October 2023, we were offered the opportunity to see a rare sight at the North Carolina Transportation Museum; a doubleheader with the museum’s two general-purpose diesel locomotives. Leading was Southern 2601, which was lettered for the museum’s Polar Express event, and trailing was Norfolk and Western 620. Today we’ll watch all three of the museum’s afternoon trains run around the property, so sit back and relax as we watch the rare doubleheader around Spencer Shops!
